In the volcano at Journey 360.

I went with my sister when they had the May promotion which made the Journey 360 experience affordable. For the Journey 360 experience you are lead into a room with a large communal table with your name projected onto the table. A beautiful storyteller leads you on a journey on a 'spaceship' which 'flys' to various locals. At each local you are presented with a different course while there are projections all around you on the wall and on the table. I dislike fish and they were able to make substitutions with chicken or mushrooms for me. The first course welcomes you aboard. My sister was given blue fin tartare shoyu yuzu and toast. The storyteller prepared us for the next destination and the ship took off to the rainforest. Projections of the rainforest are all around you. On the table and your plate are beautiful; projections of fluttering butterflies. Here we were presented with a salad course. Our next destination was under the sea. Projections of fish and octopus was on the table and the sea was all around us. My sister was presented with an octopus dish. I think a lot the audience joked about oh no we were eating the octopus projections friend. The next destination was the artic where a salmon dish was presented to my sister. Here there was ice all around us. The next place was a volcano. Fire was all around us. Here we dined on grilled ribeye and potato puree, mushroom and cherry tomatoes. This was my favorite dish. Next the ship took off into outer space here our last course of a cheesecake with passion fruit was presented. My sister and I like this as well. I got a coffee to go with it. They do not tell you it's an Indian coffee that's thick almost like a Turkish coffee. I enjoyed it but there was a group in front of me that sent it back saying they expected a Starbucks kind of coffee. The servers were excellent they took the coffee of that persons bill. At they end they call out the special occasion and those occasion are projected on the wall All in all it was an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The food was good 7/10. I do agree fellow diners that the quality of the video should improve and update to HD. I may go back to the bar/journey salon experience to see how have their cocktails with videos. I hear Ben Vereen is in one of these videos.

The whole experience was great! I know there are mixed reviews but speaking honestly about mine... everyone was super kind and accommodating. I bought the Journey360 experience for my boyfriend's birthday. I also made a separate reservation earlier to sit at the bar and grab drinks before. They grabbed our coats for free coat check and when we were drinking at the bar, I was worried that we would miss our experience but they came and got us. The experience: Journey360 is a separate, non-refundable event that is a timed, pre set menu and once you are late then there is nothing you can do. I respect that because it's all times perfectly. So don't come late :) Online when purchasing the dinner experience, it asks if you want to add a wine pairing. I opted out because my bf and I don't drink wine often so I can't speak to the selection, but I recommend opting out and they also ask you when you arrive if you would like to add... so no stress. They are very accommodating with allergies but really need to know ahead of time. Many of the guests around us requested changes online and they were happy. I wouldn't say it is the most amazing experience given the price point and somewhat small portions but I will say it was fun and worth doing once regardless and definitely well executed from start to finish. SIDE WARNING: I sometimes get vertigo and I was worried if this would be triggered cuz every thing around you is moving the whole dinner, but I didn't feel anything. So something to think about if this is you!

Had an amazing experience at Journey Experience. The food was great and the full immersion experience was incredible. It's a full restaurant in addition to that Journey experience. Great great. Great Vibe. Great service.

Cool experience, but way overpriced for the food quality. The atmosphere in the room is very nice with screens all around and an actor tells you stories. I loved the animations that were projected on the table, and the communal setting. However for $150 per person after taxes and tip on a weekday (!) for a tasting menu, you expect something impeccable and excellent. Every dish except the salad and desert are basically the assembly of 3 or 4 items: a protein, a purée (not kidding) and something else to go along. I wonder if the weekend menu is different / better? The salad was good but really nothing special. The tuna tartare bite on cucumber was good. The first warm dish (Octopus and lentil purée) had been sitting on a plate for too long, and the purée started solidifying on the outside (how is this even acceptable?). The octopus was deliciously cooked. The second warm dish was sea bass, the fish was slightly over cooked but the edamame purée was delicious with a hint of spicyness. It also came with pineapple and watermelon. The third warm dish was a joke: a tiny way over cooked piece of short ribs (not tender at all) on top of polenta with some cherry tomatoes and swimming in beef juice. This could have been served at a high school restaurant. The reveal was really cool though with a glass top and smoke trapped inside. Desert was ok but a bit dry, nothing special to note. To ownership and kitchen staff, please do better. You know that this is sub par.

Went there last night for the 360 room experience and since it was too early I sat at the bar. Even better when I realized they have Happy Hour. "360 Experience" I have no words to describe how nice experience it was. So different. Food is amazing. Right portions since it's a 5 course menu. You start with caviar and end with an amazing raspberry mousse dessert. Everything is spotless. I also opted for the wine pairing and everything goes perfectly well together. If you go with other people the experience gets even better. I saw someone having a red cocktail with a flower inside. So pretty and probably delicious since she ordered the 2nd one. Definitely I need to try next time :)

This new restaurant offers immersive dining experience. There are 2 dining experiences to choose from (Journey 360 and Odyssey). Both experiences are $175 per person (with $75 wine pairing option) I and my husband chose to try "Journey 360." The experience combines immersive video installations and fine dining together. We arrived at the restaurant early, we were told to wait at their beautiful lounge. There's only 1 show daily at this time (6.30pm). When it's time, we were escorted to the dining room called "360 room." In this room, you will be seated at the communal table surrounded by 360-degree projections. The cute part is that there will be your name projected on the table. Once everyone was seated (there're 20 seats in total), the host started narrating. The first theme was rain forest. Then, under the sea, the Arctic, volcano and the last theme was space. The prix fixe courses were served to correspond with each theme. Honestly, we initially thought we were there for just the cool and unique experience. We didn't expect the food at this fancy-setting restaurant to be good BUT it turned out that their food was amazing especially 2 fish dishes. Both black cod and king salmon were perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. We enjoyed their food so much and the beautiful VR scenery made the meal more pleasant. Speaking of the price, it's worth the experience! It's perfect for date night or special occasions. We've had several Michelin-starred meals that we enjoyed less than this one. FYI, if you are not into the experiences, they also have main dining area where they serve food and drink (a la carte ) without VR experiences. I would recommend this restaurant especially the Journey 360 experience!

Meant to do the "experience," accidentally clicked the wrong thing and had a regular dinner reservation. The front room is spacious and has a comfy, cool vibe. They clearly spent a lot of money on the aesthetic. The menu presented is not what's online and rather limited. You are given a boarding pass, $39 for an appetizer and entree. Not bad for NYC and portion sizes was fine. 4 entree options and 4 starters, and an additional charge for 4 sides. Two of the entrees come with fries. The cocktails were delicious, if only it hadn't taken 20 minutes to get the drinks. Then there was the waiter. Oh the waiter. The waiter explained the "specials" twice, forgetting we'd already asked. When we asked what the pasta was he said pomodoro. We said what kind of pasta, he said pomodoro. No sir, that's the sauce, what kind of pasta. Oh, spaghetti. He then went to check to make sure he was right, came back and explained the two daily specials like he hadn't just told us and like they were something different. Fine spaghetti pomodoro. I decided on steak, he asked what temperature. I said medium. He said medium what, Rare or well? I said just medium. He said there was no such temperature for a steak then dried to describe it in pinkness. My friend and I went back and forth with him on this many times, there were many trips by him to the kitchen. I ordered chicken instead. I asked to substitute the fries, he again went to check. Good new and bad news, I can't substitute the fries because the other sides are bigger in size and don't equate, the good news is that I can have unlimited fries. Why would I want unlimited fries if I don't want fries at all? I said never mind the side just the chicken. I'm leaving out the number of times we talked about the medium steak. I lost my patience because the whole thing was bonkers. The chef came out when I said forget the side. She offered me another side at that point, over an hour in, I thanked her, but declined. It was nice of her to check, wasn't expecting that. I wish the kid had just asked her or the manager instead of legit making things up. The food was good, it had flavor without being too salty. The manager came over at one point, he was very nice and offered us dessert as an apology, we found out it was waiters second day. We knew he had no experience it was obvious but no less crazy having to talk about steak temp for 30+ mins. I've been ordering steak medium for longer than he's been alive. The dessert was beautiful, very good, not overly sweet. I was then surprised that we were charged an automatic 20% gratuity. In no way was I going to stiff the kid, I'm not mean but for the service we got that was very presumptuous. It was a comedy of errors over and over for 2+ hours and while the chef and manager truly tried to improve the experience I doubt I'll go back.

Went to Journey for this dreamy dining experience. If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Journey. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're transported to a world of adventure and discovery. The immersive dining concept is executed flawlessly, with each course representing a different chapter in the story. The chef at Journey is true artist, crafting dishes that not only taste incredible, but also tell a story and add to the overall experience. Strongly Recommended!

Decided to try out this new spot and was not disappointed! A really cool (and beautiful) new dining/technology spot in Flatiron. The food was 10/10 (the salmon was my favorite) and the immersive technology elements were really cool. Can't wait to come back and try the other dining-experience.

So ridiculous that u pay what u pay and you don't even get matching silverware, where r we Applebees?

Let me start off by I never leave reviews, if my husband and I don't like a place, we just never go back. However, this experience was so awful that I genuinely could not not leave a review. We did the Odyssey experience, and the room that it was in is best described as a banquet room in a holiday Inn. There is even white butcher paper on top of the tables and the food is served from tray jacks that sit in the front of the room. The room is next to the other room that does the 360 experience, and all you can hear is what's happening in the other room your entire dining experience. Then they tell you that the odyssey experience is done by Broadway's best actors when it is a projector that projects on your table and tells a story that is probably the cheesiest thing I've ever seen in my life (this whole idea needs to be re-conceptualized) The service staff was nice but extremely inexperienced. We were told the wine pairing "is good to go with every course" which was definitely not enough to sell us on doing it. And it wasn't about the money as our wine with our own selection was $300.00. The amuse Bouche is already on the table when you sit down and for how long it's sitting there I have no idea because it's caviar and it's definitely not chilled to a great temperature and the sweet onion jam was so sweet and did not compliment the Caviar or the sturgeon mouse as well as the shell that it sits in was extremely soggy. The first course was kampachi sashimi which was fine and edible nothing great as it needed salt badly but again the temp on fish was not cold and seemed like it had been sitting and got to room temp. Next was the smoked sable fish risotto. Soooooo many things wrong with this dish and usually I will devour risotto, I had two bites and couldn't even finish it. The sable fish was awful and overpowered everything in the dish. And WHY for a progressive tasting menu do we have so much soft soft food with all fish, no texture anywhere, and the twill on top of the risotto didn't count as it wasn't crunchy nor the soggy tart shell from the caviar. The next two courses were pork belly and skirt steak. Neither were cooked well. The pork belly didn't have its crispy crunchy skin that it should have so instead you just feel like your eating mushy fat, so back to more soft baby food for next course. And the skirt steak definitely wasn't even prime meat, like noooo way. And if you are doing a $175 per person tasting menu the expectation is quality meat, not here. And don't expect matching silverware. I got a huge wooden handled steak knife to saw through my tough skirt steak, while my husbands was a tiny black plastic one that will break in half as you try and saw through the meat. OH and dessert don't get me started, but I wasn't expecting anything good based on everything else. This whole experience was comical to say the least, but you won't be laughing $800 later.........worse money ever spent. I really am comparing this to a holiday inn banquet food experience AT BEST, with a high school film class project as your entertainment. DO NOT waste your time or money here.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way.
