This is the Ulock they sent. When called out, they claimed it was a min "ulock".
A ulock is a ulock. A cable lock is a cablr lock.

Joulvert is deleting negative reviews from their own site and Instagram pages. So here you are. Buy your bike for Burningman elsewhere. Once you open the bike. It is yours. Before you can test it....if you even get THAT far. This is not the place to buy a bike...ever. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Thinking the bad reviews were...just those moments that a company may have, things out of their control that they rectify....but no. #1 Every bad review other than mine, I agree with and/or experienced the same problems. 1000% #2 Website gives options that do not exist. We bought a bike 3 weeks ago that STILL shows in stock on their website, but is not, and we had to take or leave a different model. Sadly, we still proceeded and took the 2nd option. #3 We bought a fully packed model. Did not recieve all of the fully packed items. (Accessories) They sent a cable lock instead of a ulock and insulted our intelligence by claiming it was a "mini ulock"....no it's a damn cable lock...not an actual antitheft Ulock. #4 Website gave us the option to select and buy a fully assembled bike, but fully assembled is not an option unless you're local to them. They sent a lock to cover that. Fair enough...but the website remains...to the date of this review....still incorrect. #5 The bike assembly is not easy if you do not now bikes and the instruction booklet assumes you know where all the parts goes and how they install....all of that would be easier if the preliminary assembly had been completed as much as the instructions say. I'm a mechanical person and this is hot garbage instructions and setup. #6 How to videos go to generic youtube...nothing made by them for their bikes...generic bike stuff. (the 3 videos I unfortunately had to watch, anyway) #7 Filled the tires up per instructions on the book, to proper psi, back tire blew. They blamed me and gave me instructions I should have followed that are not in the book and also assume I have no common sense. I filled the damn tire properly....your product is crap. #8 Sent a picture of screws not screwed in all the way near the gears on back wheel to see if thats how they were supposed to be, having not touched this part of the preassembled bike, the reply was, take it to a shop to fix since you (I) messed it up...all I did was photograph your shoddy work. #9 None of the accessories came with install instructions. Im still guessing on some. #10 As another reviewer stated, they will blame you for anything wrong with this bike. And it does look like they are just rebranding some cheaper products, although I can't confirm that. #11 Have had a non returnable 2,000.00 hunk of crap in my possession for 3 days...haven't been able to ride it yet. #12 You have to give a company time to correct things...some may say. They have been given time and the moment they blame/accuse the customer of doing something they did not do, you already know this is not a company that needs time to rectify...they are just a bad company. The good reviews in my opinion are simply extrely lucky clients, or problably their burner friends who just review for them. I am so dissapointed that a burner company would be so bad...lying and blaming us for their lies. I used them because of my impatience and ignorance to get a bike for burningman (I have bad knees and back problems) so I can keep up with my family. These bikes are advertised playa ready....my impatience got the best of me....my mistake. Please do not make mine.

Great bike! Great customer service and more affordable than most electric bikes. It's very durable and the range on it is AMAZING!!! Definetly much better than having a car in NY!

1 year update. Have the bike for 1 year now, still loving it. Def was a good decision to get the joulvert stealth. Had a couple issues but the guys at the soho store really help.

Ready to check the place out and decide if I want to make a purchase here.

I purchased a Joulvert Playa Desert and it is one of the best purchases I've made recently. DANIEL is the gentleman who helped me from beginning to end. Patiently answered my questions and went over the entire bike for me. The bike does what it claims it can do, and is built like a truck - sturdy and fast. Ask for DANIEL, tell him you read Diamond's review if want, I don't mind. He definitely takes care of his customers and makes you feel comfortable with your purchase.

Just snapped suddenly while my dad was leisurely riding his bike! DANGEROUS, CHEAP BIKES!

These bikes fall apart, while your riding them! Super dangerous! My dad had his bike for just under 3 years when suddenly it snapped while he was riding it, he went flying dislocated his shoulder, terrible road rash, luckily there were no cars on the street when it happened. When the owner of joulvert was contacted I was told it was normal and to google ebikes breaking. No apology, no refund, 0 concern over his shit bikes injuring people. DO NOT BUY THESE!!

TLDR: asked for a simple tire tube replacement, left with damaged carbon rims…read more I usually do my repairs myself, but didn't have any tools today, so I figured a tire tube replacement is a pretty dead simple job that any bike shop can handle. I walked into Enoch's shop last week, and he quoted me $15 and 10 minutes, and I said sure. As the service continued, I became progressively more apprehensive, but was too polite to tell him "Sorry, I don't trust you anymore. Can we stop?" 1. He clamped my titanium bike on the seattube. One should always clamp on the seatpost, so if any crush damage occurs, it would be easily replaceable. Luckily there was no damage here, but he would have crushed a carbon fiber frame. 2. Unluckily for me, I have carbon fiber wheels. He used a steel vise grip to pull the tire off the rim... I've never had to use anything other than plastic tire levers to get my tire off. This caused dent damage on my flawless carbon rim, as you can see in the attached photo (I did not know this damage occurred until after I already left the shop). I do not know if the damage is just cosmetic or structural, and I will need to contact the manufacturer. 3. When he reattached the wheel to the bicycle, he rested the chain not on the cog, but past the cog on the rear axle, then stretched my rear triangle to handle the extra width, then tightened it down (this I also did not realize until after I had left). This is basic, and so obvious. If he had simply turned the pedal at all, he would see that it's not driving the wheel... When I discovered this, I ran home to get my multitool to relieve the tension on my frame and set it properly. Luckily this does not seem to be permanent damage, as the back wheel still seems aligned properly. If I had a carbon frame, he would have snapped it. At the end he said "I'll need to charge you more, $20, because this took a long time and was very hard". So I came in for a tire tube repair, and left with potentially hundreds of dollars in damage (still awaiting manufacturer reply if the rim is unsafe to ride or not). I made a mistake of bringing something nice here, don't make the same mistake yourself.

I've spent 3.7k on a bike, this isn't including the repairs i had to pay over the span of a year which amount to at least 1.4k+ after random bolts detaching and motor failing, and as soon as the warranty expired my bike had a random electrical issue where the bike wouldn't accelerate. I've been coming to Bicycle Habitat for a few years now, and have been meaning to write them up. The person who helped me the most here is Matt. Matt is very personable and knowledgeable. The latest big thing I had done where was an annual tune up. I have a Cannondale commuter bike that had a flat. Even though my bike was bought about 8 months ago, it needed some major cleaning, minor repair work along with fixing the flat. Mechanic addressed everything and it only took a day turnaround. My bike looked basically brand new after the clean up. The other thing I want to point out is that Matt explained everything and even fixed small details like loose bolts, etc. that I overlooked. They also have a good selection of accessories and maintenance supplies and will help answer questions.

Since it's a busy spring weekend, I called back today just to verify they could still fit me in before I made the trip. The employee who answered, Christina, was incredibly rude from the start. She kept talking over me, claiming she "heard FRAME" when I clearly said stem, and giving me conflicting info about needing appointments days in advance. When I mentioned the conflicting information I'd received previously, she snapped and asked, "Then why are you calling?" It's shocking to be asked that when I'm simply trying to be a responsible customer and check shop capacity. While she eventually tried to backtrack and say I could come in, her initial attitude was completely unprofessional. I hope management addresses this, as the "manners" displayed were uncalled for. I've been in car accidents, road in pouring rain, water, and mud. I've clean my bike on several occasions. But something told me that I should have an overhaul performed on my bike since I had put it through so much. Yup it took me 9 years to decide to do it. SMH. Since I live close to Conrad's and have taken other bikes that I've had to John at Conrad's, I figured why not just do the whole shebang. So John informed me that there was a crack in my carbon fiber fork. Which I was not expecting or wanting to hear. We all know that once carbon fiber is cracked, it's pretty much done. My heart broke hearing this bad news. He did give me options though. He said he would be willing to contact BMC to see if they had another fork to replace mine. But because my carbon fiber bike is 9 years old, they discontinued that particular model. Damn. Then he tried researching others bike dealers to find a fork comparable. Nada. He then told me he knew a guy that could rebuild my fork. And I agreed to have this guy build my fork. It took several weeks due to the work load because it's summer and everyone is riding. I just had to wait my turn. When I got my beautiful bike back, she was gliding everywhere I road her. It was as if I had bought a brand new BMC. And the appearance of my well cleaned and detailed bike was outstanding. I was so impressed with the quality and detailed service John and the guy who repaired my fork had done. I've never been so pleased by anyone inspecting and cleaning my bike ever. Now, I wasn't anticipating the cost of everything, but it was worth the wait and cost because I truly have a "new" bike. They did right by me and my bike. What outstanding and fantastic service. Five stars hands down. Conrad's is the best.
