Short story. Jo's garage fixed the annoying metal on metal grinding noise my car was making. I'm a happy customer. The service provided was worth the peace I now have. Javier at Jo's is very detailed oriented. You can tell he wants the car to be squared away. Future maintenance plans were talked about post service. Going to take my car back here for a radiator flush. tldr. I was looking for a dependable mechanic that was within walking range and I found this place. Jo's garage is a busy place and I quickly found out it was appointment only. I was so used to other local mechanics, where you can drop in and it's first come first serve. I had taken my car to another shop that specialized in Japanese imports for over ten years. Why did I go to Jo's? The previous shop did a full brake job(I provided the aftermarket pads and rotors) and my car was still making a racket. Old shop didn't want to persue the job further until I buy new OEM brake pads. I'm a long time customer of when this location was Kerechuk Motor Service. Unfortunately the owners of Kerechuk went out of business during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. I tried a couple other auto service locations but it just wasn't the same for me. Then I read in the Alhambra newspaper that Javier Mendez re-opened the location as his own business, Jo's Garage Inc. I dropped in on a Tuesday and made an appointment for Wednesday morning. Javier conducted a full service inspection and oil change. He provided some recommendations and never once did I feel like he was trying to upsell me on unnecessary service on my vehicle. I took my Prius in for brakes. Mr. Javier greeted me upon arrival. He explained the process and gave me updates as my car was being worked on. The shop was clean and they had a nice waiting room. Once my car was done, he shared what was needed in my car in the near future but not at the time. Overall good experience. I will definitely return. read more

Came across this place in need of a mechanic close to my house. I took my truck in, and now he has fixed my other cars as well. Javier explains the work he does on your car and if anything else comes up he calls you and he let's you know if the repair is something that you may need ASAP or something that can be held off on. Javier has been helpful to me in coming in on his day off so I can drop off the car or staying later so I can pick up my car when I get out of work . I was looking for a place to bring my new Honda Ridgeline for the 5000 mile service. Change of oil and filter and rotating the tires. Javier was able to schedule me in right away at my convenience and charged me less than the local Honda dealer. It took less than an hour and I waited for my truck. Was having some trouble with my Honda Accord, and called to have it checked out. Javier was super friendly and we made an appointment, and brought it in on Wednesday. He asked what was going on, asked for some details and it was all pretty quick and painless. He called back after an hour or two with what was wrong, and was very clear and upfront. Called for an appointment, Javier is very knowledgeable and friendly. He is really easy to talk to regarding problems. He explains what will be done and calls regarding problems and remedies. He shop is very clean. This is a tall tail sign of a good a clean mechanic. He fixed my problems and now I feel confident about the vehicle.
