My husband and I love coming here for Saturday morning breakfast. Sweet people and great food! The malts are wonderful too.

Solid diner food with a classic theme. This was my first visit, and it was for breakfast--which is served all day. There is also a lunch/dinner menu. I enjoyed the atmosphere: classic tunes and retro designs. Plus, they had great service. The chicken fried steak I ordered was really delish, as was my husband's crawfish omelette. The rest of the food was good, but not amazing. The food was ready faster than I thought it would be, and overall I really enjoyed the new experience. I will definitely be coming back to try the gravy fries & a burger for dinner one day soon. read more

One of my favorites in Flowood. The food is always good. The best club sand which in town! They serve breakfast all day and my hubby loves their cinnamon roll waffles. Great local place! read more

Jo's Diner is a great place for any meal of the day! I recently had the club and it is by far the best club sandwich I've ever had! I don't typically eat honey mustard but the honey mustard on this sandwich was delicious! The service is always great and the atmosphere is so much fun! read more

I just don't see the hype in this place... I would like to start out by saying, the lowest I can rate a restaurant Is one star. My experience was worth not a single star. The food tastes like it was fried early morning and then once ordered, refried or microwaved. The cup I was given had lipstick on the side and the waitress failed to give me a straw even though I asked multiple times. To start out, my husband and I got an appetizer which was very cold. Which, I then explained to the waitress and she went to go speak to a manger and never came back with a manager. Then the food comes out, poorly presented. The waitress asks if we need anything else after we say no, she never comes back. I never got a refill, as many waitress and a manger walked by, no one stopped and asked. I also never spoke to a manger. I will not be returning to Jo's Diner. As the rest of you should do the same. read more

Great Hamburger excellent onion rings highly rated. Service was good up until the end. Had a 11.00 check gave the server 15.00 and she asked did I want my change back was kind of sad. I will tip up to 25% and while I am not cheap servers shouldn't ask for tips. Unless people have gotten so cheap that they must ask for gratuity. read more

Fast service, good food. I got the chicken omelet & it was huge. The kids' hamburger is small & plain, but perfect for our 4 year old. My husband got the Joe's Sloppy & said it was 'pretty good' which is a great compliment from him. We'll be back. read more

We eat out daily & often for breakfast. Have not visited Jo's in years so took grandson there with us this morning. Will NEVER go back ! I ordered my usual -- a bowl of grits, order of bacon & cup of coffee ! "Barely" cup of grits arrived with 2 pieces of bacon -- asked for some butter (this was not cheese grits) which she didn't bring until grits was too cold to melt it. Was also charged for more than a full "bowl" would cost at Primos, Cracker Barrel or elsewhere around town ! Never got my coffee refilled. Grandson ordered chocolate milk & it arrived almost "white" -- not enough chocolate to taste ! His pan cakes were way too sweet -- not from powdered sugar on top but from batter. He also received no butter & syrup tasted cheap. Husband asked for toast instead of biscuit & received 1 piece that was cold. They had only been open a short time so they were not crowded. We are new to the area and wanted to go to a local place. We made a huge mistake by choosing Jo's Diner. The place was so gross. The window had cobwebs, the blinds, window sills, and every other flat surface was covered in a thick layer of dust. There are greasy handprints on the wall. The salt and pepper shaker was covered in grime and dried on food. The food was not much better. We had been waiting for 30 mins and asked the waitress how much longer, she informed us that my husbands burger was done and waiting on my food. When they brought our food out, his burger was good but his fries were very cold and very greasy. My double coated fried chicken was crispy on the outside but because the coating was so thick, the inside was just mushy. All of the sides I got were over cooked and mush. The potatoes were cold and so was the mac and cheese. It seemed as if the sides were dipped on to the plate and sat there until my chicken was done. It was not good at all! I think the idea behind the theme of the restaurant is good, it definitely needs better management. Also, when I asked the waitress about a few of the sides on the menu, she had never eaten them. Great proportions and very delicious burgers. Little bit of a wait at times but food is definitely worth it

Yikes on bikes. I had been to this place several times in the past and decided to give it a go this morning bc I was craving an omelette. Admittedly they are going through renovations, which is advertised outside, however the inside of the place felt greasy and for a second I thought about turning around and just going home. I decided to stick it out and coincidentally got stuck at a booth with the stickiest table I have felt at a restaurant since going to Waffle House in college. It was kind of disgusting but I just figured this was the new aesthetic they were going with and didn't want to complain. The service is lazy and lackadaisical and the food was rather bland, but edible. I got an omelette and hashbrowns which were overcooked and undercooked at the same time. Only positive is that they do give you generous portions that will keep you full or make for leftovers. Not sure if I will be going back again. The renovation seems to also be on the quality of food which has significantly decreased in my opinion. read more

My husband and I enjoy the variety they have added. A while back they had trouble with delivery and the food being hot, but after having eaten there today it seems they have their timing in the kitchen down better. Food even came out faster than usual. read more

Went to Jo's for 2nd time at new location. They're not known for speed, but today was awful. Waitress tried to seat 2 of us at one of those tiny tables that should only be used for single diners, even though there were about 4 or 5 empty booths. She was put out that we asked to have a booth. Our waitress didn't seem to be able to handle the tables she had. Had to ask for more coffee because she wasn't coming by to check on us. When our food finally did arrive, both orders of eggs were cold. Over medium eggs that aren't hot are just gross. We sent those back. My guest's pancakes were cold, but we'd waited so long for food & were hungry so he kept those. My French toast came about several minutes after the rest of the food. You'd think this would mean it was hot. You'd be wrong. Just kind of warm. I'm afraid they may have bitten off more than they can chew moving into the bigger location. If their service doesn't improve, it might do them in. Other restaurants in the area manage to serve many more people in a timely manner, so the "this is not fast food" sign isn't going to cut it. read more

Giving this Diner two stars because the service and ambiance was great. However, my mom and I waited for our food for at least 40 minutes while others around us who had gotten there after us had been served theirs. My mom ordered a chicken omelet with a side of French toast. The first dish they brought to her was the French toast. I ordered a very simple jumbo pancake order and added and extra sausage bc it only came with one. They brought out a plate with eggs, grits, and one sausage and another plate of what looked like it was supposed to be a waffle, I'm not really sure. It had markings on it like a waffle and was covered with powdered sugar. I got the waitress attention and asked it if was a waffle and she responded "I told the kitchen you weren't going to want it but they insisted on bringing it out" ?? So I said "no ma'am, I ordered the pancakes with an extra sausage" which then she apologized and said she'd get the pancakes for me. Three minutes later, she returned with a stack of pancakes and my extra sausage. literally everything on my plate was cold. The only dish that was lukewarm at best was the grits. I called her back over and said for us to have waited 40 minutes for our food, it could've at least been hot. I wouldn't have complained if my food wasn't cold, but that's just something I cannot eat. The staff was kind and took my order off of our bill. My first and last time coming here. read more

I don't get the popularity of this place. If I wanted burger meat that tastes like it's been either stored overnight and warmed in a microwave or kept under a heat lamp for hours then I would go to McDonald's. Maybe I should give their breakfast items a try, but, judging by the the bacon's lack of freshness on my burger, I wouldn't expect much from it either. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. It's the restaurant trifecta. Menu has a broad menu that includes a blue plate, burgers, breakfast, shakes, etc. they have 2 bars, one for alcoholic beverages and one for shakes. 50's music! read more

The Butterfinger milkshake was the best I've ever had....and huge enough for two people. We live in Oregon and totally enjoyed our meal!

We like Jo's, but the food is kind of hit or miss. The breakfast items are really good and their burgers and fries are great, but the blue plate specials depend on who is in the kitchen. The wait staff is great and keeps your glass full and their desserts are tasty. It's definitely a place to visit. read more

Stopped here while passing through town because we wanted something local to the area, this wasn't the place to stop. My hamburger patty tasted like the frozen patties you buy at the store and the Mac and Cheese was nothing to brag about either. The crawfish rolls were good. My main complaint is if you have cherry or vanilla added to your drink, you are charged for a refill. $2 per cup of coke. I had no clue. Why would anyone charge for refills of soda that they are already overcharging you for? I would recommend this restaurant if by some chance it became the last restaurant standing in Jackson. read more

We have eaten at Jo's since they were at their old location. Food quality has always been good and until recently we enjoyed eating there. However, the last two times we were there the Hamburger Steaks were served lukewarm and almost cold. We did not complain but were disappointed. The last time waitresses were in such a hurry to bring our check that we had to ask for desserts. One waitress even tried to pick up my plate before I finished eating. I hate being rushed when I eat and don't appreciate cold food. We won't be going back nor will we recommend it to our friends as we have in the past. read more
