I had a terrible experience at this location, and the representative I dealt with -- WALLIS -- was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. My mom is getting married soon, and we're getting our tuxedos from Arzel. Since there's no Arzel in Texas, I was told to go to Jos. A. Bank because they are a sister company. I even called last weekend to confirm I didn't need an appointment and was told I could just walk in. When I arrived, I politely asked Wallis if he could fit me for a tux. His immediate response was, "Are you buying or renting from us?" I explained that we're getting our tuxes through a sister company and that I was instructed to come here. Instead of helping, he told me he couldn't assist me -- but the way he said it was nasty, rude, and completely unnecessary. His attitude was disgusting, and he made it very clear he didn't want to help. The customer service was awful. When I asked for his name and the number for their corporate office, he told me to "look it up." This was an unacceptable experience, and no customer should ever be treated this way. The other person working there continued to talk to David about a nonsensical/non-related issue while we were checking out. Mike B is the man!! Walked in on a last ditch effort to find a wedding suit after looking at multiple other places in the area with no luck. Within 20 minutes he had me fitted in a suit that fit me and our budget better anything we had seen previously. Will definitely be going back. read more

My displeasure is when I came to pickup my purchased clothing that required alterations. I walked in the store, I noticed a man that was on the other side of the store who didn't say anything when I walked in, so I thought he was a customer. I went to the back of the store where the alterations are done and didn't see anyone working there so I walked back to the front of the store. The man in the store asked If he could help me. I told him I was there to pickup my altered clothing. He went to the back and he returned with my clothes and handed it to me. I asked him his name and he said it was "Chuck". I told him that I was accustomed to my suits be placed in a store provided suit bag. Therefore, he reached below the store counter and place my suit, sport coat and dress slacks in the long bag. I also noticed no store issued name tag was on the employee of which Chuck stated the store don't provide one. Obviously this is one of the reasons why I initially wasn't sure whether he was an employee or a customer. From all indication this store location requires training in customer service. read more

Very poor customer service. I visited the store on Gaylord and Preston. The salespersons were not interested in helping instead they were more busy enjoying their coffee. They din't even know how to fold the shirt for the box. read more

We came in Saturday quite stressed as we had our ayes mixed up for our sons 1st Homecoming and it was actually the day of. Elliot quickly put us at ease and dressed our boy head to toe magnificently. The tailor, UT, did his magic on suit and pants while Elliot continued to help us complete the look with shirt, tie, pocket square and SHOES. The shoes were just WOW. My husband and I went in to find a last minute outfit for our vow renewal. Our daughter has cancer and asked for us to do this before she passes away. Our trip is two weeks away and we were having trouble finding what we wanted. So we Decided to stop in and the two gentlemen there were absolutely exceptional! I am so beyond grateful for there kindness and help. We found exactly what we were looking for and I don't know that we would have without them! Two words: not impressed. Since my husband's wardrobe has consisted of suit separates for the last several years, we decided to shop here for a full suit. I was immediately turned off when we walked inside, as Steve (who I came to find out is the manager) was too busy texting on his iPhone to notice we were there. After close to 5 minutes of walking around, he finally put his phone away to ask us if we needed help. Once my husband explained that he was looking for a navy or gray suit, Steve walked us toward the back of the store to show us some suits in my husband's size. While we were in the middle of putting a jacket on my husband, another salesman (Alex, an assistant manager who was returning from a smoke break) came up to Steve to tell him that a guy had come into the store to buy 12 suits. Steve immediately hightailed it over to this new customer, leaving us in the dust. No explanation, nothing. Now, Alex is "helping" us and has no idea why we're there. My husband had to re-explain what he was looking for, what colors he wanted, etc. They sold him on the "Buy 2 Suits, Get 75% Off" special, but he didn't bite when they tried to upsell the "Traveler's Crease" for additional $10 on each suit. They push the quick, in & out alterations schedule, but make no mention of the $12 charge on each piece until they're ringing it up at the register. We left with a promise of correct alterations due in four days, so I'll report back then! Alex was very nice (thus the extra star I'm leaving), but I definitely don't recommend working with their manager, Steve. read more

Visited Jos A. Bank this afternoon, because I need new clothes after losing weight & starting a new job. After 10 minutes, a salesperson asked if I'd been helped. I told him I had not & let him know what I wanted. He disinterestedly took a chest measurement & pointed to the suits in that size. He did not offer any more help, nor did any of the others, only one of whom was helping a customer. After getting no more help, I drove across the street to Men's Wearhouse, where I bought two suits, three sport coats, shirts & ties. Had the best experience! My son is 16 and 6'6, and we needed dress pants for my sister's wedding next weekend. The sales associate, Reese, was AWESOME, and he found him a pair immediately that were perfect! Reese was very accommodating, considering how busy the store was! After going to Men's Warehouse and was turned off by the aggressive service I went to here. Night and Day and prices way better. I got a custom suit here and the staff could not have been more helpful and most off all patient as we went through every swatch combo possible. Today I tried on my custom suit and they are now tailoring it w bit more to make it perfect. Craig recognized me when I walked in the door. Very impressive! I will never buy a suit anywhere else. Here's how my visit happened: -Walked in -Asked cashier lady about the specials -Cashier lady looks in binder because she hasn't memorized the specials -Cashier lady directs me to elderly gentleman -Elderly gentleman tries to sell most expensive suit line in broken English -I ask to see Navy blue business suits -Elderly gentleman shows me gray business suit -I ask again for a Navy blue business suit -Elderly gentleman shows me black pinstripe suit -I ask for a Navy blue suit for a third time, doubting elderly gentleman's grasp of the English language -Elderly gentleman tries to give me 2 suit special after asking the manger... neither of which are Navy blue -I excuse myself and hightail it to whatever store can treat me like a human being and not a sales figure. Seriously, if corporate or upper management is reading this, your store needs an overhaul or needs to be closed. It's painfully apparent that this staff is lacking in proper sales etiquette. Shopping for suits should be an enjoyable experience, the sales team should continually listen and ask for the customers input, and THEN offer them the best suit they can that fits their parameters. Instead my needs were ignored for the sake of blind upselling. I came into Jos A. Bank because it's highly recommended among my peers, which made my lackluster shopping experience all that more jarring. You should be concerned with making your brand the gold standard for men's apparel, not a waste of valuable time. Until there has been drastic changes made, I can only advise others to avoid this store like the plague. read more

Just had the worst experience at Jos A Bank and feel like I should let everyone know. I have never shopped there before and decided to look at their selection of tuxedos for my upcoming wedding. First it took them quite a while to acknowledge me. But since the lady behind the counter was helping someone else no biggie and she said she would help me when she was finished with them. Then once she was done helping that person she leaves from behind the counter and disappears without saying anything. Finally another employee asks if I've been help and I said no. So I explain I'm interested in tuxedo rentals and if they had anything I could look at. He said I would have to pick from a catalog book they had. Once they had my measurements and I placed my order the tuxedo would come in a few days before the event (without ever seeing it). I asked what happens if it's not what I expected from the photos in the catalog. He said they would have to overnight a new one to replace it. I then asked what the price range was which he tells me. He then says I would have to wait because the catalog was being used by another costumer that was being helped before me. So as I'm waiting the lady that was originally behind the counter reappears. She asked if I needed help. I said yes but I was waiting for the tuxedo catalog. So she walks over to the table and brings me the book since it wasn't even being used! So as I'm flipping through it I'm asking questions even though she's doing other stuff and not giving me her full attention. I ask again about the price range and she gives me completely different numbers than the other employee (and more expensive). So I ask if that was rental prices. She says yes but I should just buy one of their suits since renting a tuxedo is just a waste of money!!! I said but I want to wear a tuxedo to my wedding not a suit! At that point I just walked out! Even though I don't buy suits and business/formal attire very often I will never set foot back in one of their stores again. Sorry for the long rant just needed to vent. Thanks. read more

Not impressed with the service. Our lady salesperson kept finding other things to do while I was actually trying on AND buying a suit. Not at all appreciative or customer service minded. She did find multiple products and alternatives to try on for my needs. Selection was good and they carry the odd number sizes not found at the department stores. Tie selection below average for a full service suit store. Will be going elsewhere for that. read more

I visited Jos A Banks today, 9 Feb 2015. I have spent at least 10-15K at Jos A Banks annually and have shopped in at least 10-15 stores around the country. THIS STORE SUCKS. Four sales people were in the store and I was the only customer. They just sat there and ignored me. Unbelievable. Normally, this company has impeccable service when you visit. Also, there is an obnoxious odor that is noticeable when you walk in this place. I truly feel bad for the company and this place is not representative of others. It's very sad as I am relocating to Frisco from another state and I was shocked. The positive part of this story is the Jos A Banks store at Willow Bend in Plano is remarkable. This location has very good service and my husband has bought several suits and many casual items. They run frequent sales, which is always a plus. If you have an man that needs suits, they do a good job with the fittings and the tailoring. They make my husband look good... on a reasonable budget! read more

Came in on my 3rd visit to one of the best places in Dallas! Nelson Reyes was courteous, attentive, and sided with my wife on selections made. (which made me very happy that he'd overrule my tastes, to get to a better alternative!) Great place to get slightly "bigger/taller" selections. High quality clothes, and high class sales staff! Purchased my first Banks suit online. Also purchased the permanent crease for pants. When I took suit into store to get altered, they told me crease was not done and wanted to sell me again on this option. After some discussion, Manager agreed it should have been done previously and included it in alterations. Got pants back and no difference. When I took suit in for pressing a month later, pants came back with two creases and a generally bad look. Raises a few questions to a first time Banks client: Does this add on have any value or is it just something to drive revenues? Why can't Banks press a suit properly, particularly one with permanent crease? I wear suits to business meetings and quality and service are more important than price. read more

Stopped by here to pick up some pairs of slacks for work. The pants fit very poorly no matter what size/cut we selected, and were overpriced. Worst of all, we were entirely ignored by the entirety of the staff (must not get a commission for the items we were browsing). There were about two mirrors in the entire store and they were tied up by tailors. After 15 min we left and went to the Men's Wearhouse nearby, and what a difference. Welcoming, helpful staff, better base prices and sales offers, and better quality and better fitting apparel. MW or another men's apparel store will get our business from now on. Save yourself the time and frustration and stay away from Jos A. Bank. read more

After a few negative experiences in the past with other people's weddings, I somehow talked myself into checking out this store for our upcoming wedding. What a terrible mistake. I was in the store for 15-20 minutes before being acknowledged. When someone finally offered to help me (he had just been standing around) he quickly passed me off to someone else who was "trained in tuxedo rentals" That person just tossed the tux binder on the table in front of me and said "its pretty self explanatory. But you can't get any of those styles for a long time, so don't get too caught up in them." And walked away!!! I tried to ask a question and just could not get any help. I sent an email to their customer service and got no reply. I even waited and sent another one (and specifically asked in both to be contacted) and still haven't heard anything! That was about 6 months ago. They have terrible customer service, and frequently fail to get orders right. Stay away if you can. read more
