Obsessed! Had a tamale plate because I needed some vegetables and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and guacamole count. BF had the carnitas burrito covered in green sauce with pork. The food is outstanding. Some of the best NM cuisine I have ever put in my mouth! Will most definitely be back and will dream of this place until then. Really 4.5. Huge beautiful portions and very tasty. I ordered the Green Pork and bean burrito with rice and beans and it was delicious. Husband ordered chicken quesadillas with rice and beans and he really like it too. Wait staff was friendly but tried to seat us at a table barely big enough for one and made us wait instead of opening a side area. Five minutes after we were seated when a couple left, the wait staff opened the side area when a family of locals came in. Food was the reason we went and I would go back. Yelp score over rated! We chose this restaurant because of reviews on Yelp. Let's start with the fact that there was nothing that told you whether to wait to be seated or to seat yourself. it was well after lunchtime, but there was still a line to be seated. They had not written anything down and kept calling the wrong people in the wrong order. So people were already upset when we arrived and it did not improve. We did get seated rather quickly. however, we never got our drinks until the food had almost arrived. Our orders were incorrect. The food was average to mediocre at best. We had the beef enchilada plate and it was supposed to have chili con Carney, but they did not have any chili, con Carney, and instead replace it with chili con queso. It was very bland and honestly, just not good. We also had the crispy Chile Riano plate and it was supposed to have beef, but it was cheese. The cheese was like a piece of string cheese, stuck in the middle that did not melt. My sister had a BLT with fries and the kids had chicken nuggets and fries, and and a beef and bean burrito. The fries were good. We had to ask at least three times to get the sour cream for the burrito. We had to ask twice for silverware and also had to ask for straws. The bathroom was also not clean. The staff there spoke little English, which made ordering, etc. difficult. It appeared clean. We would not go here again. The staff looked very harried and upset. Walking in the smell is wonderful. Our waitress greeted us and was great thru the entire experience. I had the menudo and it was very good. Best part was the bollio! Perfect companion to menudo. Wife had the chorizo and really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this cafe read more

Chicken almost tasted like van chicken and the sauce was not traditional green sauce you normally get with this dish. More like green enchiladas sauce and even then not all that good. Needed a good place to feed myself & 4 grown children. Didn't want to spend a fortune, since Dad always pays. They had raw oysters. So we ordered them. They were suspiciously cheap - only $16 per dozen. Where I come from, oysters are $3 apiece. They came with a LOT of lime slices - so many they did double duty squeezed into my Coke. Most joints only give you a measly 1-2 slices of lemon. The oysters tasted fine - not amazing but fine. No ill effects. The rest of the menu was extensive, generous (14 shrimp to a platter!), and also inexpensive. I paid just $12 for a steak tampiquena - basically a small ribeye + a cheese enchilada. The steak was well-done - I've noticed Mexican chefs seem to prefer that - but still had some char flavor and the enchilada was on point. Everyone ate & loved their meals. I had to flag down waitresses periodically (they weren't over-attentive) but it was a small dining area so that wasn't hard. Desert was some of the best fried ice cream I've seen, a workmanlike flan, and my wife loved the churro. All in all a stellar find. One bad note - found one black hair in my lettuce, which I removed. My family was not fond of Jorge's. To begin with, the hostess was extremely rude to my husband. The food was mediocre. My daughters had rice and beans which were cold. I had the combination beef/chicken/ shrimp fajitas. The flavor for the meats were ok. My husband had the tamale plate, which was also ok, but not that great. We had churro for dessert, which was supposed to have caramel inside but it tasted like butterscotch. Lol. read more

This little diner on downtown Main Street Is always so good, we pull through every time we're coming or going from our trips, we have a 45 foot bus and always towing a car there's plenty of room in the parking lot. The reason for 4/5 is because the service could have been better. Our drinks were always filled, and the service was prompt, however the staff just wasn't very welcoming or friendly. Absolutely amazing. We are frequents here and decided to branch out and try some new places on our visit. We weren't disappointed. I had the shrimp cocktail and the carnitas tacos. Absolutely amazing. Everything was delicious and I couldn't get enough. My boyfriend had the shredded beef burrito and he loved it, which is rare because he is a picky eater. Everything down to the chips and salsa was amazing. They had great service, friendly and helpful staff, and the atmosphere was laid back and local. Atypical Mexican food, nothing really special but to satisfy a craving for a Mexican flavor as it was recommended. We were recommended but I'm sure that there are better Mexican restaurants in town. The refried beans taste of rosirita out of a can, flour tortillas were good and the chicken fajitas were also good and nice flavor. Crispy releno not so good as was the toastado. I've been coming and now living in Doso for almost 9 years and Jorge's has always been a go to when needed. It seems as though no matter what you order it's good. I love their breakfast and my lady loves the Fish Soup. It can get busy at times depending on how many people are in town for various reasons ie: horse races, motorcycle rally's, etc... First rate breakfast spot! It's been a while since I've been here, and they still do it right. Clean and quaint, good food served promptly by experienced servers. The place was packed which I was really excited about, thinking the food must be outstanding. We were greeted and seated right away by the bar area, we were given menus and our drink order was taken. Shortly after we received our drinks and food order was taken so far so good. After maybe 10 mins our order arrived, I ordered a combo that included cheese enchilada, ground beef taco, chile relleno, rice and beans and an ordered of beef fajitas with all trimmings. The chile relleno was very good, the ground beef taco the meat was grainy and tasted as if it was frozen then defrosted it had that freezer burn taste, cheese enchilada was okay. The rice and beans were good, fajita meat was dry and had no flavor, it had a fishy after taste as if it was cooked in same grill/pan as the fish. After our food was delivered we did not see our waitress we actually had to ask for refills and other items we needed to the lady who was cleaning tables. We had to track our waitress down to get our check to pay. Some items were good and other items were just not. read more
