I had lunch here for the first time and really enjoyed the meal. Smaller seating area. Very clean. Very friendly server. Good chips and salsa. I tried the super combo and the red enchilada and chile relleno were on point along with the rice and beans. I held back one star because my huge taco that came with the meal was served on a ready-made shell that was stale. Prices are very fair. I will try this place again. Just not the tacos. read more

i ate here with my fiancé last night. the staff was friendly but unattentive. our tiny chip bowl went empty in just a few minutes( it's dinner, we are hungry) and took a while for anyone to come over and notice. when our food came, more disappointment. my red chicken enchiladas were over cooked on the bottom; making it impossible to eat "bleh". the nachos looked like a microwave could've been involved but they were probably just thrown together like that. the saving grace for me was the chimichanga but even it was harder on the outside than a chimichanga should be. we finished eating the best looking parts of our meals and then the waitress just assumed we wanted a to-go box.... like NO MAAM; i still tipped bc our waitress seemed friendly but it was only 8$. we will absolutely not return. read more

Have seen this place driving by several times but never stopped until today. The place looks like one of those places where it doesn't look to good but it's the best food ever. I would say it almost met those expectations. The price point is cheap and the food was nice and fresh. I had a green chile cheeseburger with bacon and a taco. The burger was pretty tasty. The chile was mild but the still gave it a nice kick. The taco was good as well. I got the ground beef taco. Wish the salsa was hotter but overall can't complain. Food was okay, burrito de carne verde was delicious, nachos and quesadilla were good. However, the sopalpilla was too think and only ate the topics, I'm used to eating fluffy sopalpillas. Also the Chile con queso was not good to our taste, cheese texture and flavor were weird. read more

Small little spot but loved that they have a little pick up window so you don't have to go inside and wait. The restaurant is small but they are very nice. I ordered a bacon quesadilla and the total came to $7.59 with tax. I got a cold quesadilla with very little pepper jack cheese (some kind of white cheese) with a few strips of bacon inside. Something in the quesadilla tasted fishy. The guacamole was just mushed up overripe avocado with slivers of literal avocado seed inside. I also got some kind of shredded lettuce and a 7 small diced tomatoes. Literally, the tiniest, nastiest, coldest, driest quesadilla of my life for an outrageous price. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because I got a surprise bag of chips that probably would have tasted better if they were warmer. Additionally, when I walked in there was a girl sitting underneath the register texting on her phone. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this place. They're doing an awful lot of praying in this establishment, but Jesus seems to be forgetting to bless the food. The devil himself would not eat here. Godspeed, people. read more

The green chile plate and burrito are my favorites, as well as the red chicken enchiladas. I like my food to be pretty spicy and the green Chile plate is a bit spicy, but the burrito for some reason is a lot more spicer, yet I still like both. It's pretty affordable and the staff is really kind. I usually never wait because I call my order in and then pick it up, if you've ever had a bad experience here waiting for your food, then I recommend calling it in, it'll be nice and warm and overall time will be saved. Again 10/10 I eat here every time I crave Mexican food. read more

Ok. It was late and we didn't want to cook and most the restaurants in Ruidoso were closed. So we stopped at this place and it was half and half. I ordered beef tacos. They were disappointing. The filling was good but they use Taco Bell taco shells. That pretty much ended it for me. My wife on the other hand - she ordered the burrito supreme with the green chile green salsa. It was so hot (as in scoville hot) that she couldn't finish the plate. I tried some and it was "whiskey tango foxtrot" hot. And it was tasty. This is definitely a late night hang out. Food to sober the sh$t out of you. But keep to the burritos. Son ate MCD of course. They didn't have chicken nugget strip anything. read more

Ole Taco is a wonderful little place. Family owned and the food is always good. You've got a whole variety of culinary options here, most from the Tex/Mex arena. You really can't go wrong with anything, honestly. Also, the salsa and chips to munch on while you wait are muy bueno. The space is small and you will be possibly bumping elbows with the table next to you. Deal with it. They are pretty clean here, despite the awkward configuration of the dining area. I would give Ole Taco 6 stars if I could. The place is clean, the food is the best Mexican I've had in a very long time. The food has something that most food in NM doesn't have...Flavor! Not just heat from peppers but real flavor. But, the service was excellent. We made it to Ruidosa around midnight. We had no place to stay, it was COLD and we were on the motorcycle. We found a room at the Motel 6 (see other review) and the night clerk suggested Ole Taco might still be open. We arrived at Ole Taco and they were obviously closing. So here we show up, two bikers, all hooded up and the nice lady greeted us, sat us and they proceeded to COOK our order! Never once did we feel rushed. It's this type of service that you only get with a local owned family business. read more

What a disappointment. Had the #9, chili relleno, shredded beef taco and 2 enchiladas. Taco was ok, relleno was ok but had a lot of tomato paste on it. I think they pass that off as red sauce. Went here upon recommendation of a friend and I always see the parking lot full in the evenings. Boy, was I disappointed! Ordered the nachos (the menu said "Best in Town") HA! What a joke. I was served chips smeared with refried beans, unseasoned grey ground beef, and flavorless mystery white cheese. My husband got the combo enchilada plate which consisted of a microwaved cheese enchilada and I swear beans from a can. I should have known nothing here was fresh when I heard the microwave beeping several times from the "kitchen". I will not be going back....ever. read more
