My to go order was prepared very quickly. The food is great and what youd expect for a mexican restaurant.

Do not be turned off by the antiquated looks and lack of ambience. I almost did. But I had already been looking for a quick cafe style place to eat tacos and I decided to just get back off the car to give this one a try. They have a free chips bar with several salsas. The chips were fresh and the salsas were tasty! I ordered chilaquiles, he recommended the red ones. The salsa was delicious (a bit too hot, and I can take hot) the chilaquiles chips were freshly fried and they were crispy and chewy, perfect to my taste. I paired them with a pineapple agua fresca, and it was also made from real fruit and delicious. I was very glad I decided to give it a chance. The food was way better than average. Pretty much the the best Mexican food I've had in Ruidoso. It had real depth and real Mexican tones. Not just some guy making Mexican food, but someone that knows the true depth of Mexican flavors. read more

My favorite item here was the burritos. They were a good size and had good flavor. My second favorite thing was the Horchata, it was so delicious and refreshing. The variety of salsa they had were quite good too, they varied in spiciness so I'm sure anyone could find one they'd like. The caldo de res was good, but I prefer it made with a different type of meat. The pozole could have used more hominy but that's just personal preference, it had good flavor but it was very spicy so keep that in mind if you can't handle heat. The place has plenty of seating, free WiFi, and good friendly service. The only thing lacking was ambiance, at least when I was there, there was no music playing, just the sound of other customers eating, and my thoughts. You order at the counter, they do have to-go orders, and they have a large variety of options on their menu so if you're hungry I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. read more

The Ruidoso Downs location opened recently and I have found it to be the perfect lunch spot. My family and I have been eating here for lunch at least once a week for the last 3 weeks and we have not been disappointed. The burritos are fantastic and come with the right ratio of meat, beans and rice, plus guacamole, pico and sour cream if you're down w those condiments. Just ask what's on them and customize to your liking. The Campechano burrito was the best so far, steak and bacon w beans, cheese and rice!! They serve breakfast all day which is great for me if I skip breakfast before work! I've tried the chilaquiles once w red sauce and once w green sauce, I prefer the green but the red was tasty too. The huevos rancheros are very good, comes w warm tortillas. The breakfast burritos are massive and the chorizo is full of flavor! We've tried a few different taco plates and the Al Pastor is our favorite so far. You have to get one of their fresh Agua Fresca! Pineapple and watermelon are the ones I've tried and both are delicious! Medium size if you're alone and large to share. They have a serve yourself style chip and salsa area, the salsas are in individual containers and can be a little difficult to dip chips into, but it's good and helps you save room for your main order anyway. Delicious! Everything from the beef burritos to the salsas at the tortilla bar was fantastic. Unimpressive building (though bigger than it looks and could accommodate large groups) should NOT deter those who seek authentic fantastic Mexican fare. read more

Good and service were great. The ambience could be improved It was old and run down and freezing cold in the restaurant. But I think people co E for the food and not the way the restaurant looks. The food is excellent! They offer complimentary chips and various salsas, fried jalapeños and pickled carrots to enjoy while you wait for your food. You order at the counter and there are photos of the many dishes with numbers which makes ordering easy. read more

We tried 4 or 5 restaurants before this and had no luck. So glad that we came here! The food was incredible, I got the carne asada tacos and they were big and tasted great. My friends got the super burrito and they were quite possibly the biggest burritos I've ever seen. The guy at the register was really friendly, and got our orders correct. We all loved it and had a great time. Will definitely be making a stop here next time in Ruidoso. read more

Ordered takeout. Salsa was actually pico and chips were overcooked and tasted burned. The rolled tacos each had about 1 tsp of meat in each and were chewy. The tostada was mostly lettuce and bland. Taco was the same. Total waste of money! read more

Being from South Texas I'm always leery of eating Mexican food out of state but this was the bomb! The flavors were incredible and they have several different salsas and sauces you can get to try, some very spicy. We had the chicken enchiladas, carnitas, and the asada tacos. Everything was cooked to order and hot when it came out. I plan on going back to try breakfast! read more

We moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico almost 6 yrs ago from Southern California & we miss the excellent Mexican food we ate living there. While out of town in Ruidoso Downs, we saw the sign SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA on Los Victor's sign. The food is spot on So Cal Mexican food! Tasty, delicious & definitely hit the spot for what we miss in CA. (The food is the only thing we miss from California. Gavin Newsome & his Biden followers have ruined the rest). read more
