I usually stop by on my way to Ruidoso and grab lunch for the road because i absolutely love their taquitos, beans rice and guacamole! My husband and i stopped by Friday to get my taquitos , some guacamole and some tamales. As we drove away i realized they forgot to add our guacamole. We promptly turned around and i ran inside real quick to grab it. The cashier/waitress insisted they had given it to me and I politely explained that they definitely did not. She immediately had an attitude, stormed off into the kitchen, came back and sat down by the register and didn't say another word to me. The other cashier/waitress witnessed this behavior and politely apologized (she was busy with another customer as the other girl continued to sit in the chair and ignore me). Once the other waitress/cashier was done helping the other customer she went back into the kitchen to retrieve my guacamole while the rude one continued to sit in the chair and ignore me. Again , the food is great , but i think i'll pass next trip through. Service/attitude like that isn't worth the stop. read more

Stumbled on to this place on a sightseeing trip! The tacos, enchiladas and the empanadas were fantastic! Had several flavors of empanadas...raspberry, pineapple, apple and pumpkin. I was recently asked to compare Laredo Bakery in Tularosa with Amigo's in Alamogordo and I cannot compare. They are both delicious and I for sure can say you CANNOT GO WRONG AT EITHER ONE! Menudo: Laredo's menudo is spicier as is, BUT at Amigo's you are given the option to make your menudo spicier with their salsa. If you can't handle the heat of the Laredo Menudo then you may not enjoy it. Pan Dulce: Amigo's wins this one because of that new baker they have. My favorite pan are the conchas...and the conchas at Amigo's are ON POINT! BUT! Laredo's are good too. Tamales: Different at each location, but both delicious. I think Amigo has a little bit more meat in their pork tamales. Weekend Breakfast: Laredo has MORE options at the weekend. Amigo's has menudo and tamales. I like the variety Laredo has to offer on the weekend. Prices are competitive. It may seem like Laredo's is cheaper, but you have to factor in gas when driving up to Tulie. Both establishments have a parking lot. Again, you can't go wrong with either one. I prefer the menudo at Laredo because of the spice and their weekend breakfast options, but if you can't make it to Tulie, then for sure go to Amigo's. It's a win - win. read more

Delicious traditional Mexican food! The brisket taco was amazing and the chicken tacos were absolutely delicious as well. The service is warm and inviting, and Gabriel Laredo took great care of us. This place was OK. The food was OK and the service was just OK!! We were supposed to get chips and salsa with our order but didn't. It was really kinda pricey for what you got. It is order at the counter and they bring it out. Pricing was for a sit down service type of place. This had more of a fast food vibe. Probably wouldn't stop here again. read more

I stopped in for a quick grab and go breakfast and Laredo delivered on it. Two breakfast burritos and an apple empanada were ready in a matter of a few minutes. The burritos were good but very basic, just eggs and sausage. I think it could have benefited from having potatoes or cheese. The apple empanada was decent but not a must-get. It didn't seem like there were many other breakfast options in the area so Laredo is a good option if you're looking for something. read more

Mexican restaurants are all over this area and although they are decent, Laredo's is one of our favorite spots. Delicious taco plates, excellent rice and beans with great flavor, and the green chili salsa is spot on! Some days the salsa is very spicy and others it is more mild. We haven't tried anything other than the taco plate, but that is perfect enough for us. Update: March 2017 While the food is still good here and they have some of the best salsa around, their customer service has gone way way down. Currently there is a larger woman with glasses that works the register and brings food out. She basically ruins the dine-in experience during the past few months. She is rude, rarely talks (never greets, says thank you, etc.), gets the order wrong on multiple occasions without even an apology, always forgets utensils, brings tiny broken chips, etc. Basically, I have made a decision to frequent this restaurant much less just not not deal with her. I want to enjoy my meal, not constantly correct mistakes and feel bad asking for more chips or to get silverware. read more

This is the best place to eat Mexican in Tularosa. I love their regular tostadas-very fresh. Someone else in the group loves their rellenos. But be sure and get there before 2:30 on during the week and 1:30 on Sunday cause the kitchen closes. You can always get the bakery items if they're still open. The bakery has typical Mexican pastries not too sweet-yummy. I like the little pigs, but the pumpkin empanadas are good when they have them. read more

This "mom and pop" restaurant/cafe has great Mexican food at a good price. The service is fast and dependable and the restaurant is organized and cares about its customers. They have also recently improved their decor and have doubled their seating capacity. This is not a fancy restaurant or a place for "foodies" but they do a quality job consistently. I recommend their green chile chicken enchiladas. Yum! read more

Generally very good Mexican food. Red chile is truly excellent, best in the county. Wonderful shredded beef tacos and "burritos ala Mexicana", fiery green salsa. Green chile tasty but gravy-like. Great menudo on weekends. Skip the breakfast burritos. read more

My wife and I recently moved to the area from the Mesilla valley. So we're picky about our New Mexican food. She likes the red chile, and I like the shredded beef tacos here. This is the best place we have found in the Tularosa basin, and would recommend it over the others. Just wish they were open for dinner. read more
