The Anastasia's French Toast is sooo good. This is our favorite breakfast restaurant anywhere!

This restaurant had great reviews and it didn't disappoint. If I had to compare it, I'd say it's very similar to Cracker Barrel or Black Bear Diner. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious. My daughters also ordered burgers and really enjoyed theirs. My son ordered fish (cod) and chips and thought it was decent. Hubby ordered an all meat scramble and enjoyed it though he didn't anticipate the sausage to be ground. A texture thing. My younger kiddos split a chicken strip plate and it was large enough. The waitress brought out an extra plate and that was appreciated. Me and my kiddos ordered juice and it was room temperature. Is that normal? Eh, I don't know. But we asked for a cup of ice on the side and they graciously brought it out to cool our beverages. You pay at the counter after the waiter brings you your receipt. Upon delivery of our receipt, the waitress informed us that the gratuity was not included. I found it a little tacky and like she was ensuring her tip. I always tip (even for poor service), so that put a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. It was a nice hearty meal before our hike. I would eat here again and probably order the burger without juice lol. There seems to be a consistent line out the door, so plan to wait some. They close at 2 pm, as they're only open for breakfast and lunch, so plan accordingly. read more

Generous portions and many delicious-looking options on the menu. I was happy to find the "smaller eaters" section that wasn't the kid's menu. My food was great, they were busy but Teddi looked after us very well. She was hopping to cover all her tables! We had a little bit of a wait but it was worth it! Food was par and waitress needed retraining, rude, no knowledge of customer service. Management needs more training, taking up for the server and not making sure that we were satisfied with our service or food. She was more concerned with her waitress who was putting us in the wrong. Jasmine is the worst waitress and her manager needs to be dealt with by the owners. As a former restaurant owner I would be embarrassed and letting both of these employees go, for disrespecting my customers who are my family's livelihood. read more

The wait to be seated was a bit longer than expected, but it was during Thanksgiving break so lots of tourists. It also took a while to get our food, so overall the waiting was pretty long. Our server was ok, but it was just slow. The food was good- it wasn't the best, but Log Cabin is one of the few places to eat at for a country breakfast. The place is pretty loud, decorated as a country spot with deer heads and bear fur on the walls- nice decor. If you're looking for country food- this might be one of your only options. This is a great breakfast restaurant! Good service, good food, a real breakfast atmosphere. We had a delicious huevos rancheros and a standard eggs, bacon, toast. Everything was very good, hot, tasty. The place was packed on a Saturday morning, but the staff handled the crowd with ease. Definitely a good stop in Ruidoso. read more

We always eat here when we visit Ruidoso. It never disappoints. Our favorite is the "all meat" skillet breakfast. It's chock full of meat and cheese. Get their salsa, it's some of the best I've ever had, good flavor and heat isn't oppressive. read more

Made it out to Log Cabin for lunch last week, which it has been a while since my last visit, and it was great! Actually tried their sandwiches! I had the club and my husband had the New Mexico cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was a little spicy, but delicious. I really liked it! My husband liked it too but said it still needed the Whiz, Swiss wasn't doing it. The club was great! Perfect ratio of meats, veggie, and cheese. They were easy on the Mayo and I appreciate that! I think I'll try a different bread next time. Only things that were just okay on these plates were the fries; my sweet potato fries were too fried and the regular fries are crinkle cut which is not our favorite. All in all it was another delicious meal and I still recommend Log Cabin as a place to try if you're in Ruidoso. read more

I'd gotten word this place gets slammed big time on weekends for breakfast so either come early or get ready to wait in line. Lucky for us we came early on MLK day about 830 and it was a cold rain/sleet morning likely keeping some from going out. The place was not very busy when we got in. Got seated fast and orders were placed quickly also. I went with 2 grilled pork chops and 2 eggs with grits and sourdough toast. My wife went french toast and eggs/bacon. My son went with buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs, and sausage. Everyone liked their food and finished almost all of it. My only gripe is that my grits came with butter already melted into them and I am not a butter person at all so those went to waste sadly. Service is fast, kind, and accurate. Prices are fair, the venue is old-school outdoorsy, wilderness feel of a log cabin... go figure. Great place for a local breakfast experience to start your day pre or post-hike! read more

Whenever we visit friends in Ruidoso, we always go to this favorite place for breakfast/brunch. Very popular with both locals and visitors, the restaurant is always very busy. Good thing the big parking lot out front can accommodate all comers! Even when there's a small line outside, the wait is never too long. Staff keeps things hopping inside, so table turnover is smooth. The place is decorated with fabulous cabin kitsch - warm and inviting. Friendly servers even when the place is packed. And the FOOD! Simple and delicious! The cream gravy and biscuits! The French toast! All of the egg dishes! We have our favorites, but usually also try something new to share - too many good choices! Delicious! I have a slight gripe about this place being out of biscuits and gravy by noon when I visited. I was informed that, had I actually been able to try them, they're delicious. Hopefully next time. The wait was also a bit long, despite being told it would not be haha, but when the food came, I was happy. I got the polish sausage and eggs (sunny-side up is like my new thing now) with a side of toast (CAUSE NO BISCUITS AND GRAVY LEFT) and grits. I'm a grits gal and this place knows what they're doing. I regret not taking home the 2 tablespoons of leftovers I couldn't finish. While they could be more liberal with the buttering of the toast, the meal was top notch and I wish I had another plate in front of me right now. We found this restaurant through a Yelp reviews! Thank you! We were very hungry, tired from a camping trip and ready to find something outside of the tourist area, as there was an event and big crowds, downtown. We sat down, opened the menu and both of us instantly saw the ground hamburger Patty dinner and knew what we were going to get. It came with a salad, a choice of potatoes and Texas toast. This place was recommended to us during our stay in Ruidoso. Pros: large and unique menu items (I had a chorizo omelette), friendly service, hot melted butter on the table and "lodge-y" atmosphere Cons: the restaurant was overpriced for breakfast food. I've had lots of good breakfasts for a lot cheaper. It's kind of a tourist spot so I get the feeling that they don't care too much about upsetting a few customers here and there. The bacon was overcooked and my gravy with my biscuit was cold. All and all this was a good breakfast place and I would come back if I was in town again. read more
