I have been wanting to order from this place for awhile now, but they only have some blurry menu photos on yelp. I called to see if they had started a website yet and spoke with Ron on the phone. We discussed the issue and he took down my phone number and texted me the menu. It was a little thing but I was impressed with the customer service, so much so that this is my first review ever. As for the order, I got a hawaiian delux and the cheese sticks. The pizza had tons of toppings on it and the cheese sticks were thick with cheese. There is nothing like this pizza in Denton. The crust smells like the fresh baked bread my mom used to make growing up. The slices are thin but huge. As far as toppings go, there are generous. There is plenty of cheese to go around. The only critic I have is of the pepperoni, it tastes too fake so I picked it off. It didn't matter though, the pizza was so good I didn't miss it. My total was $3.25 and I needed to run to the car to get the quarter so I could pay in cash. The owner said "don't worry about it". Very nice man. He also gave a free liter of soda to the guy who ordered several pizzas before me. 95% of my diet is gluten-free, when I decide to break it I often regret it because the food was not worth it. This, my friends, is the true definition of a pizza joint. I see that word thrown around casually about fairly nice places but this isn't one of those times. This is a legit pizza joint- no frills, no decorating, wasn't even positive I walked into the right place as there is no sign inside or anything to indicate this is Jonuzi's. Just a guy waiting for me at the counter while I walk by the four tables, two cooler, single high chair and mirror on the right wall to get to him. There's no menu on the wall, just a stack of nicely done color to go menus on the counter. He writes the order down on the ticket, no time to chit chat, he's got to go back to the kitchen and make it. Doesn't even bother with the fake smile and wait time, just 'ok' and gets to it. I remember places like this and it wasn't even nostalgia, just familiar, and I fell into the roll of patron. The wait was a little less than 20 minutes and I ordered a lot of food. Like I said, this was familiar, I grew up with no nonsense. If he's up here making nice with me, who's making the pizza?? The wait was nice for me, Wednesdays are full and hectic at work followed by back to back physical therapy appointments, it was the first time I sat still all day. I perused the menu and took pictures, as you can see. I did wonder how patrons more accustomed to southern hospitality would perceive it. While I waited a delivery driver returned and manned the counter; so for all I know he's the face most people see and passes the order through the window to the kitchen. I arrived shortly after 4pm and it was empty. While I waited someone picked up a to go order and a family came in and placed an order. The menu boasts a lot of gourmet pizza options, big slices, apps, a variety of salads and sandwiches and even a burger. They have daily specials- a lot of them, which helps with the price. The gourmet pizzas seem to run higher than the average pizza place but the listed combinations ranged from normal to highly unusual. I want to try a calzone on a future visit, and they have Stromboli as well. Item to note, the shopping center they are in is off Teasley. There is a light between 35 and Londenderry with no name or sign that gives access to this shopping center, so hopefully you won't be too confused. I ordered the Jonuzi Sampler which has a couple of everything for $9.50. The fries were good and crispy, the chicken and mozzarella sticks appear to be frozen but cooked well, the onion rings were very greasy and a bit overcooked. This appetizer reminded me of everything you want when you are drinking- greasy, not bad, but nothing amazing. I was so excited to see big slices for $2.75, extra 50 cents for toppings. I got a cheese and a pepperoni. The cheese was everything I remember but bigger. I folded it over and started chowing down. This style of pizza is meant to be chewy- in a good way (thin, chewy on the inside with a crisp on the outside) but my husband wasn't accustomed to that. Since he was raised in the south I feel the need to warn you that it's not the same as pizza you get from a chain, but it's tasty so keep an open mind! The two slices were in the same size box that my husbands small white pizza with pepperoni and jalapenos were in. The pepperoni tasted like heartburn- don't worry kids, you'll be fine, just something us old folks have to worry about with greasy food. :) They are very liberal with the toppings, very, very liberal. Next time I will ask for light toppings, but they were easily removed. My husband liked his pizza but I didn't touch it, not a jalapeno fan. The small white pizza is $8 and the toppings are $1.50 unless you get a specialty topping which are meats. Based on the size of the small and the size of my slices, I would guess the higher prices of the gourmet pizzas is probably worth it for portion. The cannoli was $3.50 and it's probably okay for the masses but I'm really picky about my cannoli's and only like them at one place. The cream was pretty okay but the pastry seemed a little stale. I did notice the cheese cake and chocolate cake in the coolers up front which looked really pretty, so maybe it's how the cannoli is stored. At the end of the transaction when the work was done the owner was very gracious. He and the delivery driver got pretty chatty at the point and I'm familiar with the type. No biggie if you get it. They've been open for a year and they are doing the pizza joint thing right. Make sure you take one of the menus to go so you can order delivery, they don't have a website. Like many things in life, my relationship with Jonuzi's may have run its course. Why? They're out of pizza slices. It is 8:30PM. I'm hardly a mathematician, but according to my calculations that is over 1.5 hours until closing time. What I am, however, is a business major, so let's look at this: -Denton is a city with over 55,000 college students. -It's a Friday night. -College students have a general affinity for pizza. -College students are studying for finals. -finals= no time to cook. Therefore: The value of time to study is greater than expendable income; that equates to lots of pizza sales. This is prime time, Jonuzi's. CAPITALIZE! And, as a pizza place; one would assume that your job is to sell pizzas. Perhaps doing so would lend value to your core competency (which is selling literally pizza). read more

For my family - J&J's on the Square and Jonuzi's Pizza are the best Denton has to offer (pizza-wise). We ordered Delivery (as we are within 5 mile delivery range) and it was everything you'd want in the "NJ" style pizza - AND DELIVERED HOT. Cheese was stingy/gooey hot, meats were flavorful and robust, crust and extra sauce complementary - they just do it right! I don't live in this area, but I was at Bully's Vapor next door, and I saw the sign that said "jersey style pizza". I have seen NY style, and Chicago style, but I don't think I've heard of Jersey style.....so of course I had to try it. I was hoping they sold by the slice, and they did. I ordered 1 slice of pepperoni pizza for $3.25. It was delicious! It was a large slice with lots of pepperoni, and lots of cheese, glorious cheese! It was kind of hard to pick up and eat, but oh so good. The place is small and nothing fancy. The menu has appetizers, salads, subs, stromboli, calzones, dessert, and pizza. I wish they had a lunch special, like 2 slices and a drink for $5. I will stop in again when I am in the neighborhood. I want to try alot of other things on the menu. Ordered last night based on reviews. Delivery was great and friendly. Ordered pizza, wings, and mozzarella sticks. Mozzarella sticks tasted as frozen and just rejuvenated. Wings were requested as hot and spicy. But were bland and soft - not crispy in any way. Maybe that's the New Jersey way and we misunderstand? The pizza was flavorful but was soooo soft that it just melted in our hands. Again maybe we didn't know that was how it was supposed to be but we were not fans. I was excited to try this place, as its local and a small business, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. The pizza tasted mediocre, and I was sad that my pizza didn't have fresh spinach- I don't know if it was frozen or canned, but it was not tasty. I also had broccoli, but it was not fresh either. I took it off hoping to enjoy the rest of the pizza, but it didn't have much flavor. The best slice of pepperoni I've had in Denton or maybe the whole state of Texas. Crust is crunchy on the exterior, soft interior, folds like a charm, and the pepperoni was fresh and flavorful. The cheese was perhaps the highlight of the slice. Inside Jonuzi's is about what you'd expect from an inexpensive pizza joint, with drinks from the cooler by the door. Nobody likes to drive out to Teasley, of course, but for this pie it's well worth the trouble. They deliver, too. Don't miss this place. read more

There are no words. This place is a complete God-send. I'm a native New Yorker, and I've lived in Texas a little over a year. The pizza down here sucks so bad, and is so consistently bad everywhere, that I had finally just started to blame things like the water used for the dough. I just gave up and figured that it just wasn't possible to create a good pie in the Lone Star State. Then this place came along. It tastes JUST LIKE HOME!! Spot on, perfect freaking pizza. My soul needed this. Another thing, THE WINGS! Also very, very good. Crispy, Saucy and they are made the exact way you'd find them in Buffalo & upstate NY. I hadn't had good wings down here yet either. People rave about TJ's wings, because they don't know what the heck a wing is actually supposed to taste and feel like. A real chicken wing is fried to a crisp, and covered in sauce. So much sauce that it should accent your face. That char-grilled b/s TJ's calls a wing, is an absolute disgrace to Chicken Wings. A total hidden gem!!!! Not fancy, but absolutely the best pizza, Stromboli, and cheesesteak you will find anywhere. We are east coast transplants, and this place does it right! So thrilled to have found it, and will be back many times. Give it a try - it will not disappoint! Definitely the best delivery pizza restaurant in Denton. Back in 2014 I would have said TJs but there is a new winner! The great New York style, floppy with giant slices. I also like that the large pizzas are truly large. Getting the bang for my buck especially compared to the chains. Only few things though, pizzas with garlic had a LARGE concentration on one side of the whole. Give me more crust! It's good! Let's have more! If you are craving wings try them out!
