So for a Friday night my family and a friend wanted to get takeout pizzas from all over Denton, and watch The Pizza Movie while fly (hehehehe) and so we went around Denton and grabbed 3 different places. Here, Union (I just went on reviews, but I picked the WRONG food to get from there, apparently) and Stoners Pizza joint. We wanted to rate them all while fly. (Hehehe) Union came In last, most experience pizza and the WORST pizza, period. Stoners came in second because of their sandwhiche pizzas which are amazing, not really their regular pizza, Than TjJ's pizza..... HOLY CRAP, this blew everyone else outta the water !! Great crunchy crust, sauce was delicious, and we just got pepperoni pizzas to make sure everything is equal. Everything was better about this place. Price wise, was a little more than Stoners but less than Union and definitely better than the others !! read more

Food is great, service is great and should you run into any hiccups, they are quick to resolve them as well as compensate you. Hands down the best pizza I have ever had. Graduating from college and moving away was almost a punishment for no longer being near this place. Luckily, I had the privilege of being in the area recently and treated myself to some nostalgia. I swear the pizza is even better than before! I shared with my wife who loved it as well. It was great! I went in on a Sunday afternoon, I've never had anything from here before. I'm pretty picky about my pizza. I got the king combo, with the thin crust, it was really a well-made pizza. We LOVE TJs! We usually get the Meatzza and some wings. Just know if you get the wings, they are SMOKED and delicious and huge! Not your run-of-the-mill soaked in vinegar, but uniquely seasoned and made with love. Their mozzarella sticks are killer too! Food was super good. I usually don't like sausage on pizza but this one wasn't bad. We got the meatza and garlic cheese bread. Service was excellent as well. Person taking orders was very kind. In town for a few weeks, been looking for a go-to pizza place with wings and I've found it! Tried TJS for the first time last week, got plain wings and a meatball calzone. Yum, calzone was delish and a good portion size for sure. Love how they make their wings too, they were nice and juicy! Okay, I am not currently changing the rating but do want to mention something. I took a nap yesterday and it was almost 10pm when we realized we hadn't had dinner and it was too cold to go out so we decided to order in. We got a large thin crust pepperoni and a small garlic cheese sticks. $20.55 before tip seemed higher than usual but not necessarily higher than the competition. What got me is something that has actually happened on the last two times my husband ordered and had mentioned, but last night was the first time I had seen it and it was pretty annoying. TJ's- you need to replace your pizza cutter! Either your pizza cutter is too dull or your employees have been lazy in cutting the pizza but considering this happened to my husband at varying times in the week, I am betting your blade is too dull. No one wants to fight the pizza for a slice just to have half of it tear away. It tasted good but we didn't pay for delivery to work hard for our food, lol, that's the opposite of the mood you are in when you order delivery. The garlic cheese sticks had the same problem. Also, it's the first time it has happened but you skimped on the cheese around the crust and my last bites were crust and sauce only. I like the pizza better here than at a majority of the places in town and they have late night delivery which I love when I want to be lazy but for me to make my rating higher I need that pizza cutter fixed and consistency in service as mentioned in my last review. read more

Great customer service. I received the wrong order from door dash and the manager, I think his name was Sunday? Didn't place blame or tell me to contact the driver, he just made it right and brought it to me in less than 5 minutes. He also told me to keep the wrong order (which is the right sanitary thing to do, not saying I'm dirty, but you don't know how some people be living) so I enjoyed the wings, and pizza. Whoever's order I got, also had ranch and garlic butter come along with it, both were great upcharges! If I'm back in the area, I think I'll go a little hotter on the wings (I got hot) and see if it touches the heat that I am looking for. Great experience! read more

The last few times we've order for pick-up has been a little bit of an...um..."experience." Seems like they're ALWAYS violently understaffed and the employees don't try to hide it at all when they're overly stressed. Like... guy at the cashier asks waiting customers for a smoke. Then drops the F bomb about working in the food business. Yikes. Classy act for sure. I appreciate the college town feel and miss the no BS approach of places like The Tomato. But this is perhaps a little over the line. It seems to be a trend with constant staff turnover, though, so maybe it's something management can step in and help with. Didn't effect the taste, fortunately, and I will continue my love relationship with the pizza. But maybe opt for delivery. Or come prepared with a sense of humor. read more

Update: still ordering Shannon's favorite pizza, description found in her review. Home delivery now made under the hot pepper Arch on my front porch. (See photo) Deliveries are always faster than promised, which is unusual to say the least and the staff is always pleasant/friendly. New York cheesecake is to die for, comes with chocolate or strawberry drizzle. Salads/pizzas are obscene as you can add and subtract ingredients at will. Goat cheese improves everything! Our friend KC introduced us to this pizza on the patio at Oak Street Draft House last year- and we've been hooked ever since. We always get the meatza pizza and there is plenty to share with your friends. AND, they even have me hooked on their rosemary ranch to dip the slices in. I don't like ranch but this is nice! It's a nice crust loaded with cheese and great toppings. We even tried their Veggie Wedgie last time and it was good. We always call in our order and about 35 minutes later, it is hot and freshly delivered to either East Side Social Club or OSDH. The food is good for late night drunk food but that's about it. The pizza lacks flavor and the wings are usually way overcooked and dry as a bone. I'll order the wings when I need some late night food, and I'd just really like to know what I have to do to get the extra wing sauce I always order and never receive. Love their wings, TJ's Pizza Wings 'N' Things pressure cooks the wings and serves them with sauce on most flavors, their X Hot Wings are the only wings I've gotten outside of BBQ variants and the X came cooked off a skillet. They are great. Haven't had any of their pizza or pasta products but THE WINGS. Love getting flats cause they fall off the bone since they are so tender from pressure cooking. I can never go back to wingstop or Buffalo Wild Wings. They also offer a student discount with a student ID, if you call in your order it's more expensive than ordering off the app. The app order is a great deal, but still a dollar or two more if you don't have a student ID on an order of 8 wings. A pizza with goat cheese and basil pesto? Yes please! I have ordered from here a few times and always get the same pizza bc it's so freaking good. Try the basil and goat cheese pizza! The basil pesto sounds weird as a source but it's so flavorful and almost a nice earthy taste to it. The goat cheese is awesome! The crust is light and flaky and just perfect. I ordered a cheese pizza for my kids and they said it was their favorite pizza ever! There are a lot of great pizza places in Denton and this one definitely fits in that category. They have a nice little new shop that's easy to get to. The staff is always super nice and friendly. We will definitely order some pies from these guys! read more
