Just came home from a color, cut and blow dry, with Brittany and Jon, at Jonlisa Salon. My husband said I looked 20 years younger! I am so happy with everything. Brittany did a great job with the coloring that Jon prescribed. Her shampoo / head massage was a luxuriating experience unto itself. Thank you Brittany for a bit of heaven on Kinderkamack Road. Jon talked with me about the style and cut and we made decisions before he began. He worked meticulously and gave me a beautiful cut and blow dry. First time anyone took so much care with communication and execution. Vibe at this salon is genuine, caring, professional and comfortable. One of the best salons I've been to and now the only one I will go to. They are experts at what they do from a simple trim to expert highlights, extensions, up-do's, blowouts, keratin hair treatment, and much more. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and takes there time with answering all your questions to getting exactly what you are looking for from your visit. Angela is my go to hairstylist and she is truly amazing at what she does. Perfect highlights, great up-do's, expert haircuts, curls my hair just how I like it, and always fills me in on what's new and trendy. Jon is an amazing colorist and is a true genius when it comes to hair. He is a true perfectionist and it shows in his work. Hanie is one of the most talented barbers I've seen providing pretty much all of Bergen County's men with the freshest haircuts money can buy. Gina is a great hair stylist doing everything from color to cuts and highlights. Melissa is amazing at everything she does from highlights to a new trendy hair cut. The salon offers colored extensions which are really cool along with beautiful human hair extensions as well. Jonlissa also does hair and makeup from weddings to proms and everything in between. They have a large selection of products to purchase and the staff will recommend what they feel you can use. I love leaving the salon and feeling like a million bucks. Although I have not been as regular of a customer due to not always being in the area, when I do need a cut Melissa always consistently does a good job. I normally get Keratin treatment on my hair about every 6 months to maintain frizzy/wavy hair, which I started over 2 years ago with my first child (so about 4 treatments). I'm lucky that with my hair, I can usually go every 6 months instead of 3-4 months helped with use of sulfate-free shampoo. Obviously no treatments during my pregnancy, but 3 weeks after my 2nd son was born in January 2016, I went in for a keratin treatment so that I wouldn't feel like a complete schleppy mom when running out of the house with 2 kids. As recommended by the stylist, I washed my hair 2 days later (instead of 1) and the treatment washed out of my hair, leaving my wet hair NOT feeling silky smooth nor straight like it did with my previous Keratin treatments. I had to completely blowdry and flat iron my hair as I did before the treatment to get it to be not so frizzy. I never had to do this with any of my other treatments - defeating the purpose of getting the treatment in the first place (eliminating the straightening step!). With other treatments, I can walk out of the shower, air dry my hair and have frizz free hair for about a month, after which I need to start using a light iron. Not with this treatment. I NEVER complain about my hair because its only hair and hair grows back. But this time, I called the salon a few weeks later when I had a break from the baby to let them know but we kept missing each other. Just got off the phone with the manager (Jon) and he offered 20% off my next keratin treatment with them, which normally runs $174. I'm not sure what would have made me happy here. I guess not having the added frustration of paying for a treatment that clearly did not have its intended effect, which would have been to make life easier while juggling everything else that is going on. Wish I had the time to call him back sooner so that he could have done something else, but when dealing with a newborn who nurses every hour or two round the clock (I think most moms remember these exhausting yet rewarding days and nights), while juggling the needs of a family with a 2 year old leaves a person exhausted with very little time to think of much else. Its sad because they are close and convenient. I'm not sure if I will take Jon up on his offer. But he was kind and patient when I expressed my frustration, which is why the salon got 2 stars instead of 1 star - as yelp describes, "I've experienced better." read more

Excellent salon - John is a true artist. His color is exceptional, and he takes the time to make you understand the process and discuss exactly what you want. Prices are very reasonable especially when considering the skill and experience level. Anyone I tell is surprised that I color my hair it looks that natural. I love love love how my hair turned out! I got partial highlights, glaze and hair cut by Rebecca with the groupon offer! She is by far the best hair stylist I have been to in a very long time! She gave me exactly what I wanted. I came in with pictures but she also gave me advice and options on what she thought would be best with my hair color. She walked me through the entire process and was just overall a nice friendly person! I would recommend everyone go to her. She is definitely going to be my new hair stylist that I go to from now on. Terrible customer service! I was in at 9a.m with my daughter for her to get a cut with Angie. We walked in, and 2 blondes were on the phone, and just looked at us. 1 ended get call, and just stood looking at us until I said my daughter had a 9 am with Angie. Again, no reply. We sat on the couch and waited. The 2 blondes left the front desk, another employee walked in and started eating a bagel. We sat until 9:15 being ignored, until I told my daughter we were leaving. You have lost the possibility of 2 new customers. Your customer service is terrible, and I would never recommend your salon to anyone. Too bad you can't give a review of a negative, because o round have given them that. read more

Completely disgusted with the treatment we received from this salon. I've been going to Ang for about a year getting highlights and I've been pretty satisfied, so I recommended my sister to go to her to get a balayage done. Well needless to say her hair was horrific. It looked like a bad ombré and was orange. She had wanted her hair to be very ashy and it was the complete opposite. So we called the salon and went to talk to Jon. He was so unaccommodating, told her her hair looked good, and would not give her money back. He got rude and nasty in front of the entire salon. We showed him pictures of what her hair looked like when she got home and dried it and he told us her hair didn't look like that, basically inferring that the photos were edited. It was ridiculous and I was baffled. How an owner of a salon talks to customers in front of a full salon like that is mind blowing. We will never be going back to this salon. read more
