It looked perfect, it held all night and wasn't in my face at all. Not only that, but all the women who worked with us on the day were so friendly and warm! They made the day that much more special. I have been in Manhattan salons & I put myself thru college in Chicago working as a receptionist in premiere salons. Vain is at at the top for being the coziest, well kept, clean, & friendliest salons. Upon entering, they took my coat, showed me to the unbelievable sofa (I was early), & made me a coffee. I was greeted by the owner, who is very hands on in the business & sweet. This place really is welcoming & makes this place a cozy, but nice, neighborhood place. Everyone that works here will acknowledge you & make you feel like you are at home. I truly was sad to leave when my hair service ended, but I look forward to going back. Overall - top notch, well cared for salon that truly welcomes your visit!! Just a tip - park in the back. Meters are for 2 hours & the time is up - someone will run change to your meter. My experience with SARA is everything & more. I highly recommend for men, women, AND children. Sara is well experienced in hair of all types & colors. She truly loves this purpose in life & really enjoys people overall. She colors like like a true artist & applies color like Da Vinci or Picasso. Sitting in her chair, you feel like a canvas. I am male & have shoulder length hair & wanted to look like I was at the beach for a summer. She nailed it - it was perfect. I have also sent her many female friends her way for various color & cut services & they have all been pleased. She has a natural & "pretty" color sense - her work is never processed or fake looking. You look at her work on Instagram & think, "that's really nice!". She also has a "conservative" way of cutting. You don't ever have to be worried she will chop your hair off. She only wants to make sure you have healthy hair & will only cut what's needed, unless you ask for more. Such a rarity. One other note - Sara is very rehearsed in hair care. She will honestly recommend salon products that would be good for you & if they don't carry it - she will suggest products that can be found online or on Amazon. For an example - I needed a "blue" shampoo for blonde hair & a Biotin vitamin to help my hair from a thyroid condition. Thanks to her recommendation - I'm doing good. As you can see in the top two photos my hair was damaged from dying it many times before, I used box dye during the COVID-19 quarantine leaving it in different shades of brown and a harsh line at the roots, and I also cut my hair myself making it uneven. The first time I met Sandra she made me feel comfortable and I trusted her with my hair because the way she spoke about hair showed me that she knew what she was doing, and she knew how to deal with different hair types. Sandra spent the day perfecting my hair and I was so happy and felt beautiful after we were done. Since then I've gotten compliments on my hair regularly, and my hair is a lot healthier than before. I'm so happy I trusted Sandra with my hair, she is a wonderful person and has gotten a client for life. **My mom has also gone to Sandra and she also feels like DaVinci Hair Studio is a comfortable environment because Sandra gave her honest opinion on my moms hair and said the color looks lovely and she doesn't need to change it. Whereas other hairstylists can be pushy and try to get you to do expensive things to your hair.**

While cutting my hair, she became so distracted that she completely missed one side which I only noticed after when I came home. I don't mean this as a rude comment, but as constructive feedback. I don't mind friendly conversation in a salon, but I also expect my stylist's attention to be on the client. More importantly, I simply can't spend half a day at a hair appointment. I work five days a week and only have two days off, and those days are precious. As much as I appreciate the quality of the work, I eventually stopped going because I didn't feel my time was being respected. Great service isn't just about the end result--it's also about respecting your customers' time.

Wow what a beautiful salon. I have been going to wave for years. I followed her and always will... She saved my hair years ago from a high end salon night mare.. And I have been going to her since and have sent many family members and friends who also love her. Besides being a terrific professional (perfectionist) colorist, stylist. She is the sweetest person I have ever met. She treats you like royalty. Her new salon staff go beyond expectation for a salon. Sophia is fantastic, she is sooo helpful & accommodating . She sends appointment reminders & along with new services offered. The hair assistants are sweet and knowledgeable. And seeing angelo & wave working together brings this salon beyond Royalty. I went there because I needed help with my haircut. I got not only help but glamorous look and friendliness of entire staff. Interior of the place looks like Boutique salon in New York and it offers same if not better service. It's little pricey but worth every penny. They will transform you no matter if you need help with your hair or if you dont have hair at all... They are new business in town so please go and give them a chance- I promise, you won't be dissapointed. I went to see Danielle. No exaggeration but she is Magic Woman/ Life Saver, very nice, friendly and definitely knows what she is doing. She fixed my hair in no time and I have to say that the otcome was amazing. Much more than what I expected.... I felt like I was Royalty when I was there and a model when I left.. ;) Justine was very sweet and friendly as well. I have gone to many salons in the area and this one is by far the best! The staff is professional while still being friendly and welcoming. I have "difficult" hair to cut and color and it doesn't seem to be a problem for Elaina who is always able to somehow fit me into her schedule. The salon is clean, well lit and parking has never been an issue. Getting back to Elaina - she is fantastic. Nothing is ever a problem. She is honest if she doesn't think something will look good - for instance, I wanted bangs and she said in a very delicate matter that she didn't think that was the right look for me. She was 100% right! I gave her carte blanche because I wanted something new and different and she did a great job. I trust her implicitly. Pricing is within range of the area. read more

I just got my haircut at this salon and I still can't get over how much I love it. Christopher is amazing! My hair can be odd- some curls, some frizz, some straight sections. Sometimes stylists try to bring out the curls and I end up looking like a poodle. Not Christopher, he knows exactly how to cut hair. It will look great the day you leave, but he cuts it in such a way that you can maintain it and it grows in right. Kink Salon itself is very modern and stylish. When they shampoo your hair they also give you an exfoliating hand treatment- which is a nice, fun touch. It really is a beautiful space. I have been coming to Kink since they opened their doors. The atmosphere is cool and modern but in an understated, elegant way. While all the staff is professional and experts in their field, Alyssa is my hair guru. Her mastery of color mixing has fooled everyone I have met into thinking all of my hair colors were my natural shades! The hair experts at Link have a wonderful way of giving you what you want while being able to effortlessly steer you away from tragic hair mistakes. I LOVE kink salon there are so many talented hairstylist's that make up kink. I have been going to Laura for the last 3 years!! She is so professional, she really listens to what I am wanting. She isn't a stylist who is going to go overboard and not listen to the client which I really appreciate because no one wants a scissor happy stylist. Laura also colors my hair from time to time and she always achieves the perfect glaze. I leave walking out with the most beautiful shiny hair!! I was nervous about finding a reputable hair stylist in New Jersey after moving out of NYC, but after several stylists, I was fortunate to have met Jon Santos. I have been going to Jon for many years. He is the only stylist that has always given me an amazing and workable haircut. His color is always on point! I would not trust anyone else with my hair. I also appreciate that he is always on time. During the pandemic I have frequented the salon many times, and have always felt safe. Ellaina is the best(!!!!) colorist and hairstylist! I want my hair to look great but I don't want to spend tons of time with it in the morning. She always asks at the beginning of the appointment if there is anything different I want or how short the cut will be. I always go with whatever she advises. She really knows my hair! However, I walked by Coco many times and was curious to try. Julie talked me through the options of perming my hair and consulted which one would be best to avoid damaging. I went with Lovely Magic perm which was the C-curl type. Coming from Asia, I find it difficult to find the variety of perm options in the US and usually just do digital perm which can damage your hair. The last time I did C-curl perm was about 10 years ago, so I was very happy that this option was offered here. Although the hairstyle did not come out exactly as what I wanted, I still liked it and found it easy to explore different styles with this perm. Julie and her staffs did a great job! I highly recommend the salon. For the color and perm, I would suggest to discuss on timing in case you may not have capacity. I usually have a swamped schedule and therefore, only do hair once a year or 2 years. I didn't realize it'd take me 4 hours with cut, color and perm but luckily, I had time yesterday and was determined to get it done. The perm did take a little longer than my previous experience, but it was worth it since I loved how smooth and shiny my hair was.

Mina is beyond kind, has a wonderful sense of humor, and was so damn knowledgeable about my hair type and what was wrong with my previous cut. She explained exactly what she needed to do to set me right. Her skill and experience let her salvage *way* more length than I thought possible; I was resigning myself to needing to chop **a lot** off to make it look good again after the botch job I came in with. BACKGROUND: I've been going to the same stylist out of state since I was 16 years old (so, nearly 17 years). When she retired, I trusted her colleague to take care of me until my latest cut was butchered. I saw reviews for Elie Tanous Salon, saw it was literally half a mile from my work, and RAN on in during a break. While my hair is super cute overall and looks as good as possible given the starting-point, I don't want to do Mina the disservice of posting before and after pictures just yet. She explained that the front of my hair needs to grow out and re-thicken a bit after the previous fiasco (the face-framing layers I asked for on the previous cut came out as two uneven, horizontal shelves of hair). Plus I didn't have time for Mina to touch up my color. Meantime, even though it's by necessity a work in progress, I'm SO happy and know I'm in good hands!

At that price, I expected professional-quality results that would last. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. Just four days after my appointment, my gray roots were already showing, and I had to return to the salon to have the color addressed. The keratin treatment was equally disappointing. My hair was frizzy from the very first time I washed it, and now, two weeks later, it is still just as frizzy as it was before the treatment. I specifically paid for the keratin treatment to help control the frizz, so seeing essentially no improvement was incredibly frustrating. I believe customers deserve to receive results that justify this level of expense. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this salon.

There were few bad reviews, but i gave benefit of the doubt to try this place out. When i walked in, it was okay staffs were friendly so i thought it was going to be alright. I sat down on a chair and showed the stylist a picture of the style i wanted(which i will be attaching). It was a little over shoulder length with light brown color, which was exactly what i wanted, but guess what. I see back of my neck. It is not even a shoulder length. I have been telling him I don't want it too short like million times, he seemed like he was listening but not at all. The one thing i remember that he said was 'If i didn't like it, why would i do it?' after freaking cutting my hair to a BOB CUT. I was so flabbergasted by his comment. THIS IS MY HAIR ON MY HEAD. I don't care if you like it or not. REALLY. And he kept on telling me to smile and told me to tell him I like it.. and also kept on taking pictures and videos when i did not even give him a consent to so he can post it on his instagram. To put a cherry on top, he asked if i am going to get a blow-dry. I said no, but he started blow-drying my hair. I thought it was just a drying my hair and guess what, I had to pay 30 dollars for the service i said NO to. When I went there, I used groupon for the service of haircut and single-process hair dye. I don't want to think of it like this, but really? You really want to rip off money like that from your customers?.. please. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON. I EXTREMELY DO NOT RECOMMEND.
