Mila and everyone on the team are exceptional stylists and treat everyone here with so much respect and kindness. Ever since I started getting my color done at Âme, my hair has been the healthiest and most consistent looking for weeks after my appointment. I always have a great time in her chair and can tell that the other clients in the salon feel just as at home as I do. Not only has my personal experience been great, but since my process takes a long time, I've watched several clients who came in to fix something that went wrong when they tried to color on their own or at another salon leave so happy and looking amazing. The team does a great job of letting you know the specifics abou I have been lightening my naturally almost black hair to blonde to be able to accommodate wild colors from purple to pink for the past two years. It can be a very involved process and my appointments with Mila are by far the best experiences I've had to date. Mila always sets the right expectation of how she will approach my color, and always gets me to the result that we discussed. She also makes sure that she informs me how to best take care of my hair after the process so that I can enjoy my color for as long as possible and so that it stays healthy in between appointments. I live in Queens and travel all the way out to New Jersey for my appointments which should be a glowing review in itself! Okay I never leave reviews but I had to. I went for the first time last month and I've given my hair a couple weeks but no change. My hair is fried damaged like never before. I been to other salons and never had I have my bangs look crispy and damaged. I'm so upset bc my hair was past my butt and now after the first haircut and a second revision haircut it's shorter then I would have been comfortable with. For the revision haircut because my ends looked choppy and extremely damaged she insisted on straighten my hair before cutting it. Adding more heat to already damaged and crispy hair. The lady was nice and the salon was a cute and aesthetically cute but I wouldn't return. read more

I asked her to take in inch off the back and TRIM the rest because I'm growing out my bangs. She took 2 inches off all the way around. I"m so annoyed. Thanks Yelp! I found this cute spot thanks to this platform. I was in dire need of a wash and blow dry with some beach waves for a wedding I was attending. I called on a Friday morning and was booked with Jill for Saturday morning at 10am. I was pleased to see ample parking and was able to find a spot quickly. When I arrived I checked in with Reception and met Jill. She was very welcoming and took me to her station, examined my hair, asked what I was looking for, and offered some suggestions. I was then taken to then taken to get my hair washed and Jill very quickly and expertly blew out and styled my hair. I loved it! I got "highlights" from another salon at a local mall. I wasn't happy with them, and I admit that I was hasty in my choice of salon. So, I took my time to research through Instagram and Yelp to find a quality salon with talented stylists who would deliver results and truly cared about their clients. I finally set up an appointment with Ame Salon. I wasn't entirely sure what I needed so I mentioned partial highlights. However, when I came in, Mila saw my tiger striped hair and suggested I needed color correction. I agreed with it, knowing that my hair sorely needed help. The highlights were toned down. She applied gloss and cut my hair. My hair came out to be more beautifully blended as though it was natural I told her the story behind my highlights, and she gave me great advice on salons and hair upkeep. After going around a few salons for almost two years, I appreciated their sincerity and honesty on type of color and technique for my hair. It showed me that they took great care for their clients. The struggles of finding the perfect stylist and colorist that will listen and deliver is real. From stylists that cut too much or a master colorist that left me with dark green highlights (when I asked for deep royal purple) I ended up giving up on color/highlights all together and trimmed my own hair for a very long time. I originally had an appointment elsewhere which I sadly had to cancel because of work. My sister worked with Ljupka 2 weeks prior and had a beautiful balayage done. She highly recommended her and texted me for a good week telling me how much I was going to LOVE her. Ljupka overexceeded my expectations. She went with a longer creative coloring process to give me minimal damage to my virgin hair. Almost 6 hours later, not only did she deliver the color combination I had in mind, but gave me an amazing cut with layers and bangs. I have never felt so comfortable sitting in a stylist's chair. Yesterday was my second visit to the salon. The day before, I got a voice message asking me to change my appointment to 1.5 hours earlier, which I could not do. My previous appointment had been for a 1-process color and trim. I thought I was scheduled for the same--but the computer listing indicated I was there only for color. It was a busy afternoon in the salon. Channyl, with whom my appointment was scheduled was occupied with other clients, so another staff member applied my color. Even though I specifically asked her to color my eyebrows closer to the end of my hair color,time she did not do it, until after my timer had already expired. I had to argue with Channyl and her colleague to have my hair trimmed, because ithe service wasn't scheduled in the computer. When Channyl finally agreed to trim my hair, I reminded her that I was trying to grow it longer. Instead, she cut off all the length that had grown in since my last visit. If I had not stopped her, she would not have stopped at chin length. Now my face looks fatter and my jawline droopier -- just what a 71-year-old actor needs most. And my bangs are barely visible. I suppose it serves me right for insisting on having a trim. I tried to email this to Ame through its Website - but that email address is not in service. Yasemin cut my hair this summer and it was the best haircut I've ever had! I had always liked to keep my hair long and I would occasionally get a haircut with layers and a face frame, but I wanted a different cut that would add volume to my hair. Yasemin recommended that a long bob would be the best cut/ style for me. I was very nervous to stray away from my typical haircut and hair style. But, I decided to trust Yasemin and have her cut my hair into a long bob. Traveled far to get there because of the great reviews but I was disappointed. I went in with a Groupon for partial highlights and had an appointment. I was greeted upon my arrival and everyone was nice and welcoming. I showed my stylist pictures of what I wanted and I was told that what I wanted was balayage. I explained that I knew what balayage was and I did not want that, I just wanted ash tone highlights. She continued to say that it was balayage and insisted on me getting the balayage. Then she continued to say that I wouldn't be able to do my hair because it would take too long that my hair would need a full day. I then said okay then is it possible to do the partial highlights because that is what I bought the Groupon for. She agreed to do the partial highlights and then discussed what we would do. I said great! I sat in the waiting room because she said she was going to prepare the things and then she comes with the 'manager'. She asks me to explain the 'situation'. At this point I'm confused, I just spoke to my stylist on what we were going to do so why do I need to speak to the manager...The talk with the manager resulted in having her tell me AGAIN that I should do balayage, return the Groupon, and I would get what I asked for for a reasonable price. I agreed and put my hair in their hands. The results were the first thing I said I did not want, orange looking hair and with a different price than what the manager had told me. It was so frustrating hearing, " I was told this is the price to charge you" Excuse me? then what was the point of speaking to the manager who is supposed to have approval of the boss to give me a certain price .. lie to customers to get business not OK. By the end of the night I just wanted to get out of there so I did not even bother to argue. I paid for something I was unhappy with and the manager knew I was upset and did not want those results, but nothing was done with respect to it. Yasmine did a phenomenal job with my hair. I don't typically get highlights so she was great with suggestions. After i got it done i found the color too bright for my skin tone. Yasmine was kind and patient and made it a shade darker without any fuss. I wasn't sure about it even after that, so she understood and made it another shade darker. One of the reasons why I love this place and the Team there is that they are capable to read peoples mind! :) Knowing that I'm not educated in hair-styling and fashion or whatever, but I can recognize what I like especially when it comes to my hair-style. I have experienced exactly this with my last visit. What Mila did with my hair, the style and the balayage, was exactly what I had in mind, but didn't know how to ask for it or explain, so I just let her decide for me. The result was terrific!! I went in for a haircut about two weeks. When I made an appointment, it was with anca. However, when I reached there arelys started cutting my hair and then upon asking, she informed me anca had family emergency. I am very unhappy with the way my hair has been cut. There is no layers in the back that I asked for and it was very unprofessional how noone called to informed me that my appointment has been changed with someone else. I went all the way from Brooklyn thinking I will get the haircut that I will love. My hair looks just the same as it did before the haircut and it was a waste of my time and 100 bucks. read more

my review is a little late - but better late than never. it was my very first time dying my hair ever and i wanted to go from dark almost black hair to a blonde balayage. ljupka suggested i start out darker than the image i had shown her in case it was too much for me and i took her advice. i loved how my hair came out but initially thought it was so light because i was not used to it and was glad i took ljupka's advice. ljupka is an amazing hair dresser and is very friendly and sweet! she really knows what she's doing and is very fair with her prices. i continue to refer my friends to her so their hair can look just as amazing! read more

I was ORANGE STREAKY AND UNEVEN (check mila's work insta for before and after pix). I literally wanted to cry. I was only able to stand it for a couple of days before finding Ame Salon on yelp. You could not pay me to go back there. I was called at 3:17 asking where I was for 3:00 appointment when appointment was 3:30 they insisted it was 3:00 but I work until 3 so I know it was changed. Then they had me wait til 5 to be taken back only to have my partial highlights be a root touch up. (I don't have grays and didn't want that. I've only ever gotten partial highlights and never only had on TOP of my head... she completely left out my bangs so my hair is interesting right now).
