She is professional, attentive and respects what you want to do while offering new options. Wilma is flexible with scheduling and the salon is open on Sundays for those who have a crazy work week. The salon is owned and operated by her and the other great hairdresser, Ruby, is also super knowledgeable and a fantastic hairdresser. Her schedule is not as flexible but if you can't get an appointment with Wilma, Ruby is amazing too. Awesome experience!!!!! I was very nervous to let someone do my highlights! We had recently moved from queens and I was not aware of any beauty salons near me. Well thanks to Yelp I found Wilma's. I went in and Ruby helped me out- I wanted her consult first and see what she thinks would look best on me. I explained and showed her some photos and she said don't worry Sofia I got it! I made my appointment on a Saturday and there she was waiting for me. She knew exactly what she was doing and exactly what I had in mind. THANK GOODNESS FOR WILMAS!! I called her on a Sunday morning, Labor Day Weekend, before the time Google even said they opened, and SHE ANSWERED! Miracle #1. lol I explained that I had a wedding later that day (my hairdresser plans fell through) and just wanted a simple blow out w/ curled ends and she told me exactly the time to be there ( Bc she was working solo that day) so that I wasn't left waiting. I got there, she took care of my immediately, and gave me exactly what I asked for. Full voluminous hair. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK. Nothing better than a no nonsense well run business. THANK YOU!! I was looking for a salon for my friend's wedding to get my hair blown out and found this salon online. I saw a review that they could blow out thick hair. I have curly thick hair and needed my hair to be oin straight. Went in for the first appointment of the day at 9am and Wilma was there waiting for me. I was not disappointed! She did a great job of straightening my hair with just the blower and then made it pin straight with the flat iron. I have a hard time finding salons that know how to blow out my hair texture so I will definitely be back! Highly recommend for curly or thick hair! read more

I love Wilma's hair salon. It is a clean, comfortable oasis. Wilma is a master hair colorist. A year ago I decide to stop dying my hair and go grey. Wilma prepared my hair by putting in white highlights that allowed my natural grey hair to grow out. I have gotten more compliments from my natural hair color than when I dyed it. Was looking for a place to get my hair done, and my dad had been going to Wilma for years and strongly suggested her. I took his advice and i'm so glad i did. I needed lowlights for my bleached hair to blend into my dark roots growing out and she did an excellent job. She gave me the perfect trim also, very professional.
