The owner at the other salon fixed it, but the result lasted for about 2-3 weeks... and I was left with bright blonde highlights again. A few friend recommended Haru to me. I was given an appointment with Hadley. Immediately, I LOVED her! Hadley is friendly, warm, and completely understanding about hair. As someone who is self-admittedly fussy, Hadley listened to me and made sure she understood exactly what I wanted. Since then, I've been to Hadley MANY times and she's brought me from balayage to my natural brunette, cuts from shoulder length to halfway down my back, and dealt with my particularness about my bangs. Hadley is super talented and has a wonderful, bubbly personality. I love talking to everyone at the front desk as well, and really enjoy my time there! First up, Jackson worked his magic on my hair. Not only was he ridiculously talented, but he also became my personal hair guru, dropping knowledge bombs like "Did you know this product could help with XYZ" without making me feel like I was in a lecture. My hair has never looked better, and I walked out of there feeling like I was finally in the know about how to help elevate my hair and give it the TLC it deserves. Then, Sofia took over with my makeup, and I swear, it was like meeting an old friend. I wanted 2 inches cut off but then she suggested 4 which I agreed to. The problem was not the length she cut off but the hack job she did with cutting crazy layers in my hair. I went in with hair to the middle of my back and came out with hair to my shoulders which is fine. Unfortunately, she hacked away at my hair and created awkward and very short layers all over my head. Now it is impossible for me to wear my hair in a ponytail or a twist because of these layers--some are as short as two inches. And I showed her pictures of what I wanted which just had a face frame layer. Now that my hair is shorter it is frizzy and curly which only makes it even shorter. I actually want to cry when I look in the mirror now. And the kicker to all of this, when I go to pay, this awful haircut (no color) cost me $80!!! For a No frills salon next to a deli in Ho-Ho-Kus. Very disappointing and it will take months to grow out the damage.
