RUDE. This salon was recommended to me by two friends who found them on Groupon. I purchased the…read moredeal for a cut, color, and style. A few days after purchasing it, I needed a last-minute blowout for an event and couldn't get in with my usual salon. I called Salon JM and tried to make an appointment to use the voucher the following day. They couldn't accommodate me for the cut and color portion, but only had time for a blowout. I asked if making this appointment would prevent me from using the Groupon at a later date (since the fine print said it was for new customers). I was told it was fine, since I had purchased the Groupon as a new customer, and I was going for a different service. I reconfirmed this in person when I went for the blowout. Imagine my surprise when I called back a couple weeks later to make an appointment for the deal and was told they would not honor it. Again, I explained that I WAS a new customer when the deal was purchased, and the only reason I had gone for just a blowout before redeeming the deal was because I couldn't get an appointment for the whole thing. They weren't even open to using the amount of the voucher towards the full price of the service - I would have been fine with that! Instead, I was told to deal with Groupon, and then they hung up on me. They didn't even ask if I wanted to proceed without the deal! It's a shame because they did a nice job with the blowout, but I would absolutely not go back here. Clearly they aren't interested in the business. There are enough salons in this area - I don't need to deal with one that's rude and sketchy.

Beyond excited that Morgan and Alyssa have opened up their own salon together in Allendale. It is a gorgeous salon, clean, warm, and inviting. The front desk staff are amazing and helpful from the moment you step in the door. There are multiple seating areas where you can wait comfortably. There are ample snacks and beverages to choose from which is a huge plus! Personally I am in the salons for hours with my hair and it's great to be able to have a quick snack or drink during my service. The towels are heated and lavender scented which is the perfect touch in colder months! I am personally someone who is stressed at the salon, but never here. Morgan and all the staff here ensure you are at home and comfortable. If you're in need of a wash and blowout Gianna is fantastic, her washes are heavenly and relaxing. Sherilyn is stellar with her braiding skills, she has braided my hair and it has lasted days without even looking like I slept on it! I visited several different places and tried multiple times, but I always walked out disappointed. Then, I accidentally came across Haru Salon in Ho-Ho-Kus on Instagram and decided to give it a shot. I booked a haircut with a designer named Peter. Since it was my first time, I just told him to do whatever he thought would look best. Oh my goodness, it was incredible! It was as if he knew my style perfectly, and he gave me a haircut that I absolutely love. What impressed me the most was Peter's professional mindset. Before even touching my hair, he gave me a detailed explanation of the style's structure and how it would flow, which built a great sense of trust. When he started cutting, his scissor work was so detailed and skillful--it felt like watching an artist delicately sculpting a piece of art. The price is on the higher side, but the quality is so exceptional that I don't even want to think about the cost. My satisfaction is 200%. That's when her awful comments came out in front of the two young women at the receptionist area. They said something to her but she just said "well I tell it like it is". Needless to say I phoned the salon and cancelled the appointment. So the point is unless you have a perfect head of hair, don't go to Mary.
