Had a great experience here tonight. Thanks to Christina I have a fresh new look that is fun and flows yet still work appropriate. I have long hair with long layers. I wanted the same thing only fresh with a few inches from the bottom. She did a great job fading in the layers and making me feel like a new person! Her blow dry was also excellent. Christina always does a great job on my color and cut! I'm always happy. One comment though, I absolutely do not like the new website. It's difficult to use, I get too many emails and texts, it's really awful. Add to that I really thing the $1.50 charge is ridiculous. It's obvious there is some cost to the salon from the website provider and you are passing it onto the customer. I find it very petty and cheap. The old on line system was so much better. For now on I will just call instead of booking on line which is not as convenient but is way easier. read more

Got the message....I won't go back. Kayla at the front desk told me to move my car because where I parked was reserved for another employee. Told me to park off site (meanwhile other cars were parked in "illegal" spots). Their designated parking lot was full. I moved my car then told her and colorist Angela that it was wrong to make a customer park off site to hold the spot for an employee. Both didn't like being told they were wrong. Said I was rude. Colorist Angela applied color on fast, and well past my hairline onto my forehead, dropped color on me and my jacket, washed off my color 5 minutes early, pushed shampoo into my ear. These young girls are moody and revengeful! Made their point they didn't want me there. read more

I hate haircuts. I hate them. I met the manager, Chrissy, at the gym and I explained my fear. She told me she would take such good care of me and have one of the least scissor happy junior stylists cut my hair. What a pleasure! I had Stephanie who had been cutting hair for a few years; and we had a complete consultation before I was even shampooed. She broke down what the best course of action would be for my hair, and we decided on a length that would give me healthy ends and keep my length. I explained to her that a lot of my hair damage comes from braiding. I braid my hair in two french braids about 3 times per week for workouts. She suggested that I put coconut oil in my hair before braiding. THIS WAS THE BEST ADVICE EVER! Since my cut, about a month ago, I have healthy ends and my mid-shaft breakages have been significantly minimized. Thank you!! I would recommend this salon for anyone who has hair cutting fears. Don't waste your money elsewhere! My cut came with a blowout free of charge. I will be seeing this salon, and Stephanie, again soon! read more

I've been going to Christina for years. She always takes care of me and my hair. I first saw her after a tragic cut at a different salon. Basically, I left the other salon in tears (and the worst cut of my life) and went to the nearest one with good reviews to try to fix it. I ended up in Christina's chair and I will never see anyone else to cut or color my hair. She saw how upset I was about the bad cut and was honest in her professional opinion. She gave me my best options and we went from there. Now I see her on a regular basis for my cuts (try the dry cut, it's pretty amazing) and highlights and it feels like seeing an old friend every time I go. I always leave feeling beautiful and loving my hair. She knows me and my hair so well that she comes up fun and original things every time I want a major change. I have never been disappointed. I went to Stephanie for a simple brown to blonde ombré. Colors came out good but the flow was not good. I ended up having to go back the next days to fix spotting in my hair. After that , it still was not fixed. She had to ask a level 2 specialist Kim to help her. Even than, it was still spotty. This was my 1st time here. I might come back but just not with Stephanie. She was a sweetheart, just not so experienced. Not so happy and I spent over $200 dollars. read more

I needed a change! I just wasn't loving my hair, and wanted something new. After researching and reading reviews for a new place to get my hair cut and colored; and a friend recommending Eric Alt at Eric Alt Salon, I finally decided to book an appointment for a consultation, cut and color with Eric Alt. You can call any of their locations, and they can book for any stylist at any locations. The receptionists made booking the appointment so easy, and they were all beyond professional. My expectations were high... When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and Eric, and was offered tea or coffee. The salon itself is absolutely beautiful, and clean! The vibe is also very comfortable, inviting and warm. Certainly not pretentious like you would expect from a high end salon. Everyone that was working said hello, and had a genuine smile on their face. When I sat down for my consultation, I felt like Eric understood what i wanted- i showed him a few pictures, and he agreed that the picture i wanted was definitely possible. I even mentioned that I was considering extensions. Eric was so honest, and didn't try to up sell services. He flat out said, extensions are expensive and I can do them- but he really don't recommend them for me. He was confident that he could get my hair to where I wanted it to be- long, healthy, soft. Eric suggested dark chocolate color, with some sandy, light brown tones in the front to make the front look more full. And we were on our way... The whole time he was coloring my hair, we were chatting away and he was so friendly, and nice! I was beyond comfortable and confident that he knew what he was doing. While I waited with color on my head, he recommended a hair cleansing product that he felt would be best for my hair. By no means did i feel like he was being a sales person. He was genuine in wanting the best for my hair, and I didn't feel pressure at all like you can feel at salons to buy their products. When my color was getting washed out, another stylist showed me the exact amounts of the product to use, and how to use it. The end result was stunning!!!!!!!!! The color came out beautifully, and the cut and blow dry was exactly what I had envisioned. His skill set is remarkable. And the entire time while blow drying my hair, he was explaining to me how I could easily do it at home. I couldn't have asked for a better job than Eric delivered today!!! I am beyond excited to have a new salon, and i look forward to trying their blow dry services. Eric Alt, and his team at the salon certainly exceeded my expectations today. I would absolutely highly recommend them!!! i even booked another appointment for January. i look forward to also trying the Eric Alt products! read more

Very clean and professional. If you are looking for a boutique hair experience or even just getting a blowout this is the place to go. I have had a wonderful experience with each person and they all have their specialities! Brittany and Olivia are wonderful and if you have Eric he does an amazing job, but even if you cannot get in with one of them others are wonderful too! When you call you explain what you need and they match you with the person that's a match to your needs! It's a team environment. I moved to Bergen County from NY, and I continued trekking in to the city for my haircuts. I'm pretty particular and a creature of habit. I decided to give it another shot and tried Eric Alt Salon in HoHoKus/ Ridgewood today. I was greeted by Erin, a friendly and very experienced stylist (ask her and she'd say a men's barber). Erin is actually Eric Alt's Master Barber! Boom! Erin did a quick consult and immediately knew what I was looking for. She has more than 8 years experience cutting hair, and not just hair....she focuses completely on men's hair! A godsend for any man looking for a new "lady that cuts my hair." The haircut experience was easy and fun. Some highlights-- quick consult, some history, cut the sides, a very relaxing shampoo / amazing head massage, uses scissors (not just clippers and a comb), straight razor to get your neck hair, and she makes sure your brows are handled. Love this place! Blonde Kim is wonderful, love her hair cuts and color. My only problem are the hours. I can never get my schedule to fit with the salon. My days off are either Monday or Tuesdays and they are closed those days. The other days I have to find babysitters. Which is not very often so I go to other salons but never happy with my results. I highly recommend this salon especially "blonde " Kim. She's the best! read more

After 15 years of going to the same salon in NYC, I tried out Christina Kim at Eric Alt. She is fantastic- I strongly recommend her and the salon. Christina is very good with highlights and covering my many grey hairs. My highlights grow out nicely so I don't need to rush to the salon at 8 weeks. She is also good at cutting and styling my hair. It is worth noting that the salon is open every other Sunday which is great for working moms. Finally, I love how they offer a reward program and they text/email appointment reminders - it is nice to go to a salon the embraces technology. read more
