I have been coming here for the last several years, but today they have lost a client. A few days ago I scheduled an appointment for 10 am today. Over the weekend I received a voicemail asking if I could push my appointment to 11AM. I called this morning to follow up, but they confirmed my appointment was scheduled for 10 AM and expressed confusion about who called me to change it to 11. We confirmed that my appointment would be 10AM. I then came in 15 mins early and was coldly greeted at the desk when I checked in. I took a seat and waited for my name to be called. I waited 15 mins past my scheduled appointment, and during my this time the stylist assigned to me took a client that walked in after me. She was notified that I was waiting twice. She never once came to speak to me to let me know how much longer to wait. I got up to speak to someone at the desk to cancel, but no one was working the desk. I walked out. I tried to then call the front desk and was placed on hold for 5 minutes. Clearly, this establishment has issues with friendliness and with double booking. I shouldn't run into this much trouble for a simple haircut. I won't come back. read more

In all my years living in Bergen county I have never once encountered such volatile and hostile "managers" or "owners" to run a business as I have experienced at Lisa Thomas Salon. The quality of work I had received from two of their stylists was nothing special either. In fact, the first time I got a blow out there I had to go home and REDO it because it was that awful. God forbid you speak up to anyone that works there about the dissatisfaction bc the "owner" or "manager" (I think they are mother/daughter) will yell and scream at you. Lisa, My last visit was a complete disaster. I booked for a partial hilite with Karla and asked her for pricing no less than 6 times during my visit, she would walk away or not respond when I asked. Finally when she is washing some foils out, she told me she charges starting at $140. Mind you, we were almost done with the servics. Once I sat in the chair to finish up, I asked again and said my price is $240 - just partial hiltes and two foils underneath. Additionally, while she was mixing my color, i asked which developer she used and she said 20 - my hair needs a 30 for anything to happen. I ended up being there for about 3 hours (for partial hilites) and my hair came out orange. On top of that. I told her i wanted natural hilites that are further apart- ABSOLUTELY NO BABY LITES. She basically bleached the entire top layer of my hair. My hair was a disaster after being there for a very long time. I will never set foot back in your salon and I will be telling all of my friends about this. PS, I had to do a root blend, lowlites and a dark/cool toner to fix the color. read more

I have been using this salon for many years. Stylists come and go. Lately, every stylist I have had, double and triple books. Not only do I wait up to 1/2 hour to start my hair, but I have had to wait to get hair cut and sometimes told that there was no time for a blow dry because their next client was waiting. I was able to secure an appointment with Monika and it was a great experience. Monika did a fantastic job on my blow out! She gave me so much volume! I looked and felt great! I recently had another event I needed a blow out for. I booked Monika again for a 9am appointment. I was early and so was she! She was ready and I was able to get out early so I wasn't late for my event. This time, Monika did some curls which really held the whole day. They are very professional and diverse in this salon. Classic bait and switch! quoted $35.00 for blow out. After service, no its $50.00. Have been coming here for some time, made appointment. Apparently new policy, price is based on length and thickness of hair. When I protested, that this change in policy should have been communicated, was told next time I come they will give me a conditioning treatment. Next time! No there will not be a next time. We arrived 14 mjn late today. I called to see if I could push the appointment out 4 hour before and they had no availability. I did call and say I'm running 10 min late they said no problem. When my husband arrived they did the haircut but no blowout. It's 50 degrees outside; to send my 6 year old with a wet head is not acceptable. The stylist we had, had a poor attitude and did not care. I loved the salon during my first visit, poor service this time. If the blowout couldn't be done at least dry her hair so she doesn't end up sick. $30 for a 13 min haircut and no blowout. Poor service and poor attitude. read more

I was hesitant to leave a review, as I got my hair done more than a month ago but I figured it's worth letting people know what kind of result they should expect if they come to Lisa Thomas Salon. I came in to get money piece/balayage after my initial consultation with Russel. I really liked his work posted on his instagram account, so you can only imagine how disappointed I was with how my hair turned out. I felt like the amount of money I spent on this service ($300+$60 tip) wasn't justifiable because: 1. The balayage barely showed. 2. The parts that did show were done sloppy. I feel like Russel would have been able to catch his mistakes if he blowdried my entire hair (he only blowdried the money piece part to see how that turned out, which came out okay). Instead, he gave me attitude for not wanting to spend additional $35+ for a blowout on top of the $300 that I already spent on my hair. In fact, during the initial consultation, Russel mentioned that if he uses a lot of product, meaning that I would be spending more money, then he might include the blowout for free. How can I trust that? As a customer, how can I know what "a lot of product" is and how much of that product being used would call for a free blowout? I think that the stylist shouldn't have let me walk out of the salon with my hair still wet and sticky from the conditioner that wasn't rinsed off properly. Because of this, I didn't see the final result until I got home, and to be honest I was quite unhappy with what I got for the price I paid. With that being said, I hope that this review will motivate the salon to do better. read more

I got my hair cut by Monika today, and I had a great experience! The salon was spacious and nicely decorated. When I arrived, one of the stylists took me to get my hair washed (they double shampooed my hair, which I appreciated). I asked for long layers and face framing (and brought a reference photo), and my stylist gave me exactly what I wanted. In response to sylvia g response and the owners response as well I was there also in June 20 2023 and the lady was harshly treated . She was attacked by the owner and told to get out only for asking why the color didn't match. The girl is the one who called the police not the receptionist when they were screaming at her to leave with the dye in her hair . I have never seen anything like this and I won't be returning and recommend every one to research carefully before they go! The girl was crying in the salon asking them to at least rinse her hair !
