On May 5th I had Jones put on inner and outer tie rods on my car. After paying $700 for the repairs, my car sounded worse and the repair they did caused my tires to bow out, and driving in the rain was terrible. I took it back exactly a month later and was told the part had worn out, and all parts had a life time warranty, and they wanted to charge me another $100 to put the right part on which they did not do the first time. I didn't understand why I should pay sn additional $100 for them to fix their mistake. I did not at any time refuse to pay them, but when I picked my car up, there was a note on the car saying we were rude and refused to pay them, therefore they will no longer work on my car. My car was making a horrible clunking noise and I was looking for a mechanic and my boss recommended the Jones Auto Shop. Best decisions I ever made. I was almost in tears thinking it's going to die. There are some new people that are working there saying they are buying this from the current owner. we have been using Jones Auto for 20 years and have never been more dissatisfied. Our truck wouldn't start and they told us it was the fuel pump. After the $700 for the fuel pump, we called to check in and they told us they "tried" a few lore parts that didn't work and now our total is $1,000. We never agreed to that work being done and at this point they were just googling symptoms to figure out the problem. We then had the truck taken to another shop and were told now the engine is blown! I will NEVER use them again! As I drove up, Allen came up to my car and said, "Is your AC on? Cuz it sounds like it needs to be charged." Well, my AC had been broken but my main concern was that the last auto repair place had told me that I needed a new timing something and something else that would end up costing me around $900. I was there to get a second opinion. I looked and in fact my AC was on. I told him what the previous repair shop had told me. I left my car there. Within an hour they called me back with the issues and the cost to repair. They thoroughly checked the issue I thought I had and it ended up being something else completely. And only $200 to fix!! As a single woman, knowing absolutely nothing about cars, Jones is a God send. Jones Auto is a hole in the wall with NO CORPORATE BACKING or glossy signage but do not be afraid to call or enter. These guys are respectful and honest. I found this place by asking around. I was referred by an elderly woman and a small business. Please give them a chance. They deserve more YELPS and definitely more business than certain big, fancy places with lines of credit. read more

I've had my SUV in a couple of times it's great place to get you truck car worked on great bunch of people

First let me say that my family has been going here for a few generations. I will say that most of the time they're alright. However, some experiences lately make me feel the need to post a review. The shop is a smaller, two garage, dirty little shop on Truman road. The few times that I have personally been there they aren't the most talkative, just a straight forward "here's whats wrong, do you want to fix it or not and get out" kind of attitude. They are very blunt and have little tact when it comes to discussing vehicle problems. They definitely seem like they're more interested in sitting at the back of the shop talking than doing work or making money / customers. At one point they basically just told me "Yeah I don't need to look at it much, it just needs a new engine". The last time my wife took our car there to have it looked at the mechanics were extremely rude and unprofessional. They had our car up on the lift, a couple mechanics were laughing and pointing at our car, at one point they brought customers back from the waiting area to take look laughing and telling them that its the worst they've seen. This obviously made my wife extremely uncomfortable and awkward. We're at a shop because we don't know how to do it our self so why alienate your customers like they're just idiots because their car has an issue. Of course after that they suggest excess things to have replaced other than the initial issue like all mechanics, especially when it's a woman in their shop. The last time before this we dropped the car off my wife had them repair something that ended up costing $225 (Roughly) for a part that was $25 on amazon and right on top of the engine to replace. On top of that two days after we had that repaired the car began to make a clunking kind of sound when it turns or runs across large bumps, and the issue in the paragraph above is what we encountered when we brought the car back in, which of course they say will cost $750 (again for all of the "obligatory" auxiliary parts that need to be replaced other than the main issue) I will say that before these last two times they have more or less been alright other than an issue a family member had years ago (basically they were told that Jones would diagnose the car for free but the shop had to take apart parts of the engine to do that. Then they wanted to charge to have it put back together. Instead they had the car towed somewhere else and Jones still tried to charge them for the labor and the tow fee even though they said they would diagnose it at no charge and made no effort to contact anyone before doing work that would cost anything.) Just make sure you do your research and shop around a bit before letting them repair anything. read more

My family had been going to Jones ever since I was a kid. As an adult, they are always my first option, they are affordable, convenient, and thorough. They don't mess around, or tell you things that don't actually need fixing they have always done a wonderful job and gotten things done punctually.
