Stopping in Thomasville overnight, we were disappointed to find most restaurants were closed on Mondays. But Jonah's was open. We arrived to find a waiting line of 6 - 8 standing outside in the rain. Turnover was quick & we were seated within 10 minutes. Hush puppies and shrimp & grits were superb.

Family recommended Jonah's for our first visit to Thomasville, Georgia. We started with the Green Tomatoes which came out piping hot and delicious! Husband had the Crab Cakes which were perfectly cooked and full of Crab! I had the Shrimp & Grits which were full of vegetables(surprised by that), lots of delicious shrimp and creamy, smooth grits. The Wait staff from the front of the house to our waitress were delightful! They were slammed as it was Black Friday, but everyone acted like it was nothing special, just business as usual. Glad we went and will be back to Jonah's on a return visit to Thomasville!

The best shrimp and grits I've ever had! The service is always fantastic and everything is very reasonably priced as well. Jonah's never disappoints!!

Wowwww!! One of my favorite restaurants ever! Seriously the best Brussel sprouts I've ever had and the most amazing mashed potatoes. The shrimp was perfectly spicy and smooth. I've never described shrimp as "smooth" but it's just that good I guess The staff is so kind and warm! I love the vibe of the restaurant and will be coming back

I finally got a chance to partake in a meal at Jonah's! Each time I've tried to go on the weekend, the line was just too long, and I ended up going to another great, local restaurant in Thomasville. This time, we were there within minutes of them opening, on a weekday, and were seated immediately. The inside area is not super spacious, but certainly adequate. Our waitress was awesome! However, it did seem that a couple of tables in which the customers came in after us, were served their entrees before we received ours. Not sure what happened here, but I will plan to go back again - if only to make sure this was a fluke. Great food is wonderful, but so is overall customer service - including the wait time for entrees. With all of this being said, everything was delicious!!! We started out with hushpuppies, followed by fried grouper bites, fried green tomatoes, cyclone shrimp, and clam chowder (basically sampled all of the appetizers). :-) Our entrees included shrimp and grits, catfish, salmon, and grouper. We were all thoroughly satisfied with the food.

We had a great lunch today. The front entrance was clean, well kept & inviting. The Christian music playing truly made it even better of an experience. As a spirit filled person, I felt the presence of God while enjoying my lunch date with my husband. We had a great waiter, Willie! He was very on top of our drinks & checking on us. He was super kind. Ordered these AMAZING Cyclopes shrimp appetizer & they were literally SO DELICIOUS! Perfect sauce amount as well as phenomenal batter. Very southern, great hushpuppies as a starter, delicious crab cake BLT. The grits were delicious too! Perfectly seasoned AND hot, fresh fries. We would absolutely recommend & go back! Take your friends & family and enjoy this peaceful & pleasant restaurant.

Thomasville is such a quaint Southern town. I'm driving thru headed East and it's always worth the stop. First time here and it was not a disappointment. So Good!! Inside of restaurant lets you know that you are welcomed and ready to eat well. It looks like a fresh made from scratch restaurant and its sounds like it as well. You can hear the clank of plates in the kitchen, people chattering, staff serving. Cool place to come eat. Hush Puppies when you sit down. Perfectly seasoned, crunchy exterior and moist inside. I could have ate all 3 of them. Saving room for rest of my food. I will take pics of each course. Typing as I go. Cant wait for my next course. I ordered a house salad as a side, you get two sides with some entrees. As expected, super fresh and crisp greens. Feta cheese creamy, candied walnuts, light citrus vinaigrette. It's actually a big salad for being an upgraded side option. It's time for the dinner plate now!!! Ok wow. Blackened Black Grouper was cooked to perfection. Great heat in the spice. Fish glistening. Man so good and the collard greens are excellent. Smokey bacon flavor garlic and a broth to die for. I ordered some shrimp on the side and blackened them as well. I'm so happy. Please go here. Great service. Fresh and Fast. Southern cooking at its finest. Can tell the locals come here. Really good. I'll be back to eat the Shrimp and Grits with room for dessert. See this place soon!!!

Soooo delicious! We were shocked to be on a 70 minute wait but once we were served, we understood why! Complimentary hush puppies were completely unexpected and such a treat! The classic shrimp and grits were truly stellar and notable mention for the crab stuffed salmon - amazing portion and cooked to perfection! Our service was excellent too.

Growing up in Tallahassee, I'd heard about Thomasville and the famous Jonah's Fish & Grits. In college, I used to try coming on weekends while visiting the family at home but the wait was always so long. There's a small back patio that we always sit in because I usually bring the pup with me to Thomasville. In the summer, it gets quite hot, and with heat and humidity comes flies... but they have recently invested in these fly fans (not sure what exactly they're called but that's what I'm calling them lol) and they work perfectly against the army of flies that try to attack while eating. Pro tip - don't let them forget your complementary hush puppies! Hush puppy refills cost extra. But they are so so good that if you're hungry, it's worth the extra $. My favorite dish is the shrimp & scallop pesto pasta. It's rich and heavy but so freaking good. The shrimp scampi is also a good option but not as flavorful as the pesto pasta. Also SCALLOPS FTW. Not a pasta fan? Try the shrimp and grits or the big fish grouper sandwich (get it blackened for the ultimate flavor explosion). 100% my go-to restaurant when I'm day-tripping to Thomasville!

Food is always phenomenal! From the complimentary hush puppies that are fresh, sweet and airy to the famous shrimp and grits! Very popular restaurant so expect to wait... good service and great location. Always a must when in Thomasville!

no call ahead either. But regardless this place is awesome and worth the wait!

Does Jonas serve alcoholic drinks? Have not seen any reference or pix or mentions?

No, they don't serve alcohol. They do however send you on a long wait, at which point you can spend time at Liam's bar or Farmers daughter winery getting as much as you please. I'd start at one of these locations and make a reservation (by walking… Read more

My companions and I have sampled the sipping chocolate, which is a small hot cup of exactly what you think...sipping chocolate. It's more dessert that hot beverage to warm you up. But it is utterly delicious! There are plenty of dessert offerings from gelato to sorbet, to colorful macrons, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, milkshakes, and coffee drinks galore. If that isn't enough they put themselves over the top with hand crafted truffles, each with their own design and flavor profile. The staff will package them in a 2, 4, 8 or 12 count box for gifting. I dare you to leave without a box! They also offer a small caramel filled or dark chocolate bar for about $3.00. They are delicious! You may just have to eat it if it's a hot day outside. You wouldn't want this melting before you get to enjoy it! This is one of my personal favs! Now parking is a bit tricky. There is angled parking in front of the store and on both sides of Broad Street, but this is a busy area for shoppers, diners, locals and tourists. So, if you just venture around the corner to East Jefferson Street, there is more parking. On a busy Saturday, we found plenty of empty spaces midday on East Jefferson Street, where Broad Street was full! It is wonderful to see a local business thriving like Sweet Cacoa! The line out the door proved just how popular this dessert haven is! If you need a gift for a hostess or just a sweet treat yourself, this shop is a must-stop location and is on my regular Thomasville routine shopping destinations.

It's quaint, charming, and has that small-town, heartwarming vibe that makes you want to linger over your coffee a little longer. I ordered the Homemade Hash and Eggs, and it was almost perfect. The portion is hearty, so much so that I couldn't even finish it. But here's the kicker: the dish had absolutely no seasoning. None. Not even a sprinkle of salt and pepper. As someone who loves bold flavors, I found that strange. Thankfully, they had salt and pepper on hand, so after a generous shake (okay, several generous shakes), it turned into exactly what I hoped for: hearty, satisfying, and delicious. The coffee was solid but mild. I'm a "give me an extra espresso shot" kind of girl, so I would have preferred something a bit bolder. They offer basic creamer and sugar options, but I didn't notice any flavored coffee or syrups, so if that's your thing, keep it in mind. If you're a simple coffee drinker, you'll be just fine. What really sets Savannah Moon apart, though, is the service. The girl who greeted and served me was friendly and super sweet, exactly what you'd hope for in a place like this. She was genuine in a way that made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time here. Overall, this is the quintessential breakfast spot. The prices are average in comparison to most of the sit-down breakfast spots I frequent.
