The food is always hot with good service. This a great buffet for family's. Just wish they had longer hours.

The food was hot and very flavorful. The staff was very slow at replenishing the buffet as items were emptied. After being seated, we did not see our waitress again until we were ready to leave. Most people in our party of 12 had been waiting for a solid thirty minutes or more for refills on the beverages. If you chose to dine at Seminole Wind, arrive early and get all items on the buffet so you don't have to wait and wait longer for the staff to refill the empty containers on the buffet. read more

The restaurant was closed for a few weeks for renovations. But I didnt see any improvements. Actually worse, they want you to eat off foam plates. The food was terrible dried up mashed potatoes, dried up macaroni. Some of the rice was so hard I thought I bit down on a bone. The chicken didnt have any flavor just full of grease. The cabbage was full of grease. No drinks except tea and lemonade. It was just awful. Best thing that the restaurant had before the closing were the cinnamon rolls which they no longer have. The sides felt like cans being opened and heated in the back. Nothing special. The fish and chicken were decent but crab was disgusting and the surcharge for seafood does not correlate with the quality of the food. The cashier was not sure how to use there system so the line was stopped quite a few times for her to get help. Decided to check out the new Orchard Pond Parkway and wound up here. They always have the best Southern cooked vegetables: black eyes, limas, 3 kinds of greens and much more. I still miss their location in Tallahassee. Meat choices are usually simple: meat loaf (not too greasy), fried chicken (my wife likes it), fried catfish, baked chicken, and BBQ pork among others. Plus 2 kinds of mac 'n cheese: firm for those of us that like it and creamy for fans of that style. Good but simple desert choices including soft serve ice cream that is almost DQ good. I was travelling through the area and visited Seminole Wind restaurant in Thomasville Georgia on 20200526. 11:15 am. I had eaten there once before with family members about a year earlier. A year ago we all enjoyed our meal together. This was an entirely different experience. The servers were friendly and helpful. The food was extremely subpar. I asked the waitress serving the buffet for a chicken breast. She gave me a chicken back, which tasted like old chicken. The steamed squash was cold. The "fresh from the oven" corn bread was half cooked and tasted strange. The mashed potatoes tasted like "Chef Bad-from-a-Box." The black eyed peas were ok. The collard greens were way too salty. The "apple cobbler" was not apple, and it was 90% gooey dough. I realize we are all recovering from COVID-19 but you can't blame that for everything. read more

I'm not sure what the others have experienced, but everytime I've eaten here, the food has been to die for......literally.....if you eat enough of this food you could develop health issues LOL! Not because it's bad food or because they do anything wrong, but it's not healthy food and it's full of bad oils, salt and sugar. My recent visit was with my mother and her husband, we drove to Thomasville after to getting out of church, and this place was packed! Fortunately, we found a seat near a wall, also near the buffet area, it was the perfect seat. Our server was a nice young girl, who was quiet, but very helpful. The buffet was full of all of the wonderful soul food items one can think of (maybe not all, but there were a lot of options). I had corn on the cob, mustard greens, rutabagas, lima beans, salad, and a biscuit. I enjoyed the salad, corn, greens and biscuit, but the rutabagas were disgusting! Whoever thinks that adding sugar to rutabagas was a smart idea, please fire them (just kidding), but I like my rutabagas sugar free (except for the natural sugars). The lima beans were ok, nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home to mama about. I will definitely visit this restaurant again, if I'm in town and if I'm craving soul food. read more

Don't believe any of the negative reviews about this place. The food is pretty good. Nothing too heavily seasoned and noting nothing underseasoned. Everything really gave u a home cooked meal vibe. And the staff are all great. One of the cooks came out and introduced herself to my family and I and genuinely made us feel like we were having Sunday dinner amongst our own family. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Thomasville. read more

The food is decent but the employees are horrible especially the management. They 'dressed down' their employees in front of everyone - instead of being professional and taking them to an office. And don't care who or how loud they are. Management then blames the customers for being upset when you go in there to eat and enjoy a meal not to be party to unprofessional behavior. I always went there because I thought it was a Christian place. But, such poor spirit. Never will go back. Just because you walk into a garage - doesn't make you a car. my gf and i have almost finished all the restaurants in Thomasville after which i hope we can Quantum Leap out of here... this place gets good reviews, and i dont know how. like another reviewer said, "bland tasteless" spot on. as far as SW, it was bland and boring. save your money, go to Publix, pick yourself up some roast chicken, potato salad, some rolls, and a 2 liter soda... the food will be better, and you will have saved a few bucks with leftovers to boot. i guess if you are a buffet monster and you want to come pig out on mediocre food, SW is for you, otherwise, not recommended. read more

This is not a review of the food but the behavior of the owner. We were told to leave the gazebo that is behind this restaurant when we sat down to eat a sandwich from elsewhere. We were not aware that this was part of the restaurant and it was not posted in an unobstructed position. The owner or manager didn't even tell us, he had a waitress do it. There is a way to handle everything in a kind and gentle manner. I imagine that the reason your restaurant was empty is because you are rude and one bad review is more powerful than 10 good ones. We went there on seafood night and I expected more people. Now I know why. The vegetables tasted old and soured. I am surprised that I didn't get sick. The seafood was freshly cooked but very bland and very greasy. The fried shrimp was small size that was put out about 24 pieces at a time. It didn't even fill the bottom of the serving pan. It went fast and after 15 minutes another 24 were added. The 12-15 customers scrambled and took the shrimp. The service is always good there, that's never an issue. I had to make myself eat the food. I then got a salad and a cinnamon roll to curb my hunger. I promise that I will not return to Seminole Wind. This is my second time with soured food at Seminole Wind. That was some of the worst food I've ever tasted in a very long time. For a night time quick meal I should have went to George & Louis, on Remington Ave, but I wanted some home cooked vegetables. The people at Seminole wind always seem friendly. It is moderately clean. The bathrooms are generally clean. The choices are great, as far as what there is, how much there is. I find that there is a great deal of butter and seasoning in things. The mashed potatoes taste as though they are powdered, although I have no confirmation. A lot of the vegetables taste as though they could be canned. I don't believe it's fair to draw comparison, or point out other restaurants in a review. For the benefit of vegetarians and other people with food sensitivities, there are other southern style buffet options in town that are fresh, 'no meat in the beans', no butter, and nothing that has caused any sensitive reactions. read more

The desserts and salad are very good. Some of the veggies were good, but bland, and even cold. They have signs posted on the buffet to dip from the bottom of you want hot food. Lol. The price is reasonable. They do have fish on the buffet daily. It's better than most chain buffets, but not as good as other local country buffets. You'll find something to get full on. Not so hot! They just finished a 3 or 4 week "remodeling" and I detected absolutely nothing changed. I expected a better menu...NOT... maybe new carpet and furniture...NOT... new employees and restaurant equipment... also NOT... The prices was the same and if I'm going to have to spend $10 or more for a meal then I'll go to Applebee's or Longhorn. It stayed the same... over salted vegetables and mostly fried meat dishes... best deal is salad but it costs the same as the buffet. Drinks are always extra and not worth $2 for iced tea. You (and I) can do better and have a healthier meal by going to Subway. read more

I recently visited this restaurant and had a window seat overlooking the lake behind the building. It was a very pleasant and tasty experience. The food was very good, especially the vegetables and seafood. The desserts were also very good and everything seemed to be homemade. My date thought the mashed potatoes were not real mashed potatoes but I didn't have any so I can't offer a comment other than her opinion. The only negative I can take from the experience is that a female employee, who I assumed to be an owner because she parked in the back, showed up in what appeared to be her pajama bottoms. She also removed a small bag of something from the bed of her truck and threw it (paper bag and all) in the beautiful lake behind the restaurant. Thankfully, her actions are not a reflection on the taste of the food but it did detract from the total dining experience. read more

Some of the best food I've eaten anywhere! The fried chicken was to die for and the variety of vegetables was outstanding and seasoned just right. The fruit and salad bar was also outstanding. Awesome southern hospitality at its finest. Love the servers very pleasant and helpful. The bar has a huge selection of different meats and a salad BAR that is never ending.
