O'neil's Country Buffet - Southern Near Me - Thomasville, Georgia

O'Neil's buffet is very good. Such a great selection of vegetables, well seasoned and wonderful. The fried chicken was done well too. I don't know when I will be back through Thomasville again, but I would definitely stop there again. The service and prices were very good -- a bargain for such great country cooking. read more

I have never been a fan of buffets, but holy moly! Not only is it clean, but fresh! Friday's they have fried chicken, baked chicken, fried fish, and best of all rutabaga's! My husband and I love going here on Fridays. read more

The very best to eat in Thomasville GA. The food is always wonderful and they have the best fried chicken in the world. The restaurant is always clean and everyone that employees there are friendly. Never go wrong eating there. read more

This is an old school southern buffet with several kinds of meat (usually two types of chicken plus a few others), and all kinds of vegetables. I've been here three times and have always left feeling like I got my money's worth and then some. read more

Just moved here, great favorite new place that I will frequent! One of the best buffet spots around!

Good was very good a bit pricey but it was good I would go back service was slow but friendly I would recommend it

The food is excellent large variety of veggies cooked country style. I got fried & baked chicken but they have 3 other types of meat. I sampled both desserts: apple & peach cobbler. Both delicious! All waitresses are very friendly & polite. Very relaxed enjoyable atmosphere. I arrived around 11am. Glad I did! It filled up quickly! When traveling thru again, I WILL have this restaurant on my stop by list! read more

Everything was perfect most buffets have mutiple food items that are blegh or old but not here everything was fresh and tasted good. constant food getting traded out and a lot more room in there than you think if the parking lot is full there's probably still places to sit and service was also great your cup won't even get half way empty before it gets topped off and plates gets picked up fast as well read more

You never really appreciate something until you no longer have access to it and that's how I'm feeling about O'neil's Country Buffet. I currently reside in North Carolina and I've been partaking in their soul food buffet scene for quite some time and I've gotten quite accustomed to the cooking style of Eastern North Carolina, but let me tell you that country food or soul food of Eastern North Carolina has NOTHING on the soul food of Thomasville, Georgia! Now, I'm probably biased because Thomasville is my hometown, but I've lived in several states and NOTHING compares to the way that food is cooked in Thomasville and O'neil's sets the standard. I was in town recently and finally made it to O'neil's during their operating hours and prior to the rush (thank God!). When you enter the building, it reminds you of old, southern charm and I love that; I felt at home or I felt like I was in the home of one of my grandparents. The customer service I received upon entering the building was second to none. The buffet is small, but it packs a mighty punch. On my visit they had squash, cabbage, greens (I'm not sure which type), fried chicken gizzards, cornbread (I'm currently salivating), peach cobbler, turkey wings and so much more! I was in heaven! The food was so good that I'm currently experiencing withdrawals. If you get the chance and you're passing thru Thomasville, make sure you give this place a try, but you have to stop by between 11 am and 6 pm. The food is so good that they have very limited hours, so get in while you can. read more

Huge spread of food if you want simple Buffet style fair. It's where the locals go to load up. Good service

I live in Tampa Florida. Every time I visit Thomasville to see my mom, I make it a point to eat at O'Neil's. Their food tastes oh so good. That good ole country cooking . I'm so disappointed when I miss getting there before they close. And the staff is really nice! read more

This was my first time eating at a southern buffet. To be honest I did not know what to expect. As soon as we walked in the owner or guy behind the counter said hey how are you guys doing. A waitress also said hi to us. The staff was extremely friendly. Talking with all of the customers. I'm almost positive 95% of the customers were local. You find a seat to sit. Go up to the Buffett and grab a plate. A plate cost $9. The price is amazing for a all you can eat Buffett. The food was really good. Better than any other Buffett I have had. They had everything from wings, deep fried chicken, smoked chicken, turkey, pulled pork, beef with gravy, grits, turkey stuffing soo good. , mashed potatoes Mac and cheese green bean casserole. There was a lot more. For desert there was banana pudding and chocolate pudding. The waitress just brings you your drink and clears your plate. She was extremely nice and was very good with refills of our sweet tea. She was right there before we ran low. Overall for my first time. I was impressed. Very cool place. I would recommend coming here. I will be back. Nice people. Good food read more

Thomasville's best buffet. (Forget about Seminole Wind or Market Diner). This is The Place. The crowd speaks the truth about the quality of the food. Fresh, clean and very tasty. We like Thursday because of the BBQ boston butt and hot wings. Service is fantastic and seating is plentiful. The desserts are typically cobbler and are wonderful. Unlike other buffets, the food bar never runs out of food. The entire staff is there to work hard to ensure an enjoyable meal and the best service for everyone. During the week it's about $8.50 to each lunch. But on Sunday it is $12. Is the meal any better on Sunday? NO. In fact, they don't add the wings or pulled pork. I went once on Sunday and won't return. I'm no fool. Why do they charge $12 on Sunday? Because they can. Expect a different crowd on Sunday, than during the week. read more

If you like country style vegetables on the buffet then this place is for you. The selection was good and all were very tasty but the meat however left me a little lacking. The fried chicken - I've had better the gizzards were very tough almost in edible read more

This place is awesome. Wear your biggest pair of sweat pants and get ready for a nap. They ain't weight watchers approved, but you can get some great soul food here. I didn't try a vegetable that I didn't like. They were all homemade and seasoned perfectly for my taste. The salad is ok and cobbler was good. The real star of the show is the selection of country veggies. I thought the little buffalo wings were good, fried chicken and pork chop was good. The price is great, $8.50 even with your choice of beverage. read more

i have driven by the eatery many times, many. today, i decided to stop and eat after reading the reviews on yelp. let me say this ...... i should have kept driving today too. it was a friday and they had four or five types of fried fish. NONE of them were appetizing i tried the fried chicken. it was fried so hard it actually cut the damn inside of my mouth .... and it was dry the only veggie i liked was the corn ... the potatoes weren't cold but they were not close to being warm either ,,, the only positive was my server. she was precious and very attentive. it was what i thought it would be, prior to reading the reviews that seemed to indicate i was missing some good food. Yelpers let me down .....this time if was really late at night and there was no where else to eat, this would be your spot, to stop, and drop ......... otherwise keep driving. read more

Favorite new restaurant to go too this place is amazing so much amazing food super nice waitresses and great service brought my grandma here for the first time and it was awesome read more

If cheap and plentiful is your thing then this is your place! The fried chicken and biscuits was the only things that were REALLY good. The veggies I tried were super salty. They put coconut in the sweet potato casserole. WTH is that all about?! There were a couple of unidentifiable dishes - something that looked like it maybe had sausage and some sort of tomato sauce and some rice and meat dish. I asked the waitress what it was and even she had no idea. They also had hot wings which I didn't try but my nephew seemed to enjoy. The peach cobbler had WAY too much batter and not enough peaches, it was almost the consistency of bread pudding. $8 a person including beverage and tax gives it an extra star from the 2 star it probably deserves. read more

O'Neils is a great southern buffet. They serve a great variety of food, which varies on different days. Favorite sides are: mashed potatoes, greens, Mac and cheese, rutabagas, creamed corn, green beans and sweet potato casserole. Several meat options rotate on different days, but the baked chicken and pulled pork can't be beat. Homemade cobblers and ice cream are the perfect dessert. Staff are friendly and attentive. A great lunch spot! Just wish they were open on Saturdays! read more

Excellent country style buffet. Hard to beat at $7 per person. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is very good and there is an excellent selection. It's good home style country cooking. read more

I would definitely recommend the place to stop by and eat everything is awesome! Really good southern food.

This is a simple country buffet restaurant. I found the food to be bland, and I was disappointed with every dish that I tried. Even the Mack and cheese and the greens were bland. The set up was a little different in that you pay as you come in and are then taken to your seats. The server was kind and brought our drinks quickly. She did a good job checking in on us. This 1-star review is for the food. If I'm going to eat at a country restaurant, I expect more homestyle, rich flavors. read more

Great country vegetables I love eating here. The fried chicken is the best anywhere.

Ate there twice in mid June. Both times I didn't even eat any of the meats. Not because they weren't good; just because the vegetables were outstanding and totally satisfying. I'm going back up there in a couple of weeks and will plan my trip to get there at meal time just to savor before I continue on to my sister's. Great place, food, service and price. looking forward to it..... I forced myself to eat the cobbler also, yummmmmmmyyyyy read more
