She was such a sweetheart, made us feel welcome, and honestly was one of the highlights of our night. We had a lot of fun because of her kindness and great service. Unfortunately, there were two issues that really impacted my experience. First, I had an uncomfortable incident in the restroom. I admit I forgot to lock the stall door, but I was the only person in the restroom, and an employee opened the stall door without knocking or announcing themselves. They stood there for a few seconds before closing the door and leaving. It was embarrassing and made me feel very uncomfortable. We did speak to the manager afterward, and she was very kind and handled the conversation professionally, which I appreciated. The second issue was more concerning. After our meal, both my friend and I became sick. She had the penne pasta, and I had the chicken tenders. While I can't say with certainty what caused it, the timing was concerning enough that I felt it was important to mention. Overall, Mandy's service and the manager's kindness were excellent, but the restroom incident and becoming ill afterward unfortunately affected what otherwise could have been a great experience.

Let me tell you about the Tawook Sandwich, this thing is something special. The garlic spread they use combined with perfectly seasoned chicken, pickles, and just the right amount of crispy french fry tucked inside makes it one of the best things I have ever eaten. I'm not exaggerating. It's the kind of bite that stops you mid-conversation because you just need a moment to appreciate it. The shish kabob platter was equally incredible, the steak was impossibly tender and packed with deep, rich flavor. The hummus and pita rounded everything out beautifully, simple but executed with real care. What sets Cedar and Olive apart is that you can genuinely taste the passion behind every single dish. This isn't food that was just prepared, it was crafted with intention and creativity. If you're in Jacksonville, please do yourself a favor and go here. Don't think about it, just go. You will not regret it.

Cedar and Olive was a bit of a disappointment for me. The restaurant itself is very nice, with a clean, modern setup and an inviting atmosphere. I ordered the shish tawook and fattoush. Both tasted good, so the issue wasn't necessarily the quality of the food. It was the portions, pricing, and overall experience. For me, it felt like the gentrified version of Mediterranean food. Everything looked polished and was presented nicely, but some of the generosity and authenticity I associate with a great Mediterranean restaurant seemed to be missing. Mediterranean food is usually the type of meal where you leave full and satisfied. Here, I left wondering where the rest of my plate was. The shish tawook and fattoush were good, but for the price, the meal simply wasn't fulfilling enough. Customer Service was good, not stood out either good or bad. Nice restaurant, good food, and attractive presentation. But if I'm craving an authentic Mediterranean experience with generous portions and strong value, this probably wouldn't be my first choice.

We live in SE Florida, and there used to be several Metro Diners on our area. Sadly they all closed just before COVID. when we saw this one, one of the few corporate owned stores, we came right over. Same favorites on the menu, and surprisingly what appeared to be, the same prices. Our server Makenzie came right over and answered all our questions, including whether they had half portions. She responded yes! I had forgotten! So I ordered my old favorite, chicken and waffles. My wife got the Bissel breakfast, which I explained to Mackenzie was the yiddish word for little. As in a bissel of this, and a bissel of that. We certainly enjoyed going back to one of our old favorites, and throughly enjoyed our meal.

The interior has a classic diner feel that reminded me of Denny's. It's a bit dated but still clean, bright, and welcoming. When you walk in, there's a sign letting you know to seat yourself anywhere. We ordered a basic breakfast and an omelet entrée. The food was decent overall, although I thought parts of the hash browns were a little overcooked. The highlight of our visit was the service. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. Overall, it's a good spot to stop by if you're looking for a tasty, reasonably priced breakfast with excellent service.
