    3pc Chickenjoy w/ 2 Sides & Drink

I have been seeing reels on Jollibee for a while on social media. I always wanted to try it so after my nail appointment I walked to a nearby Jollibee. I ordered a 3pc chicken. They don't have wings so I asked for 2 thighs and a leg. I got 2 sides which I picked French fries and white rice with gravy. The combo came with a biscuit and soda. The place was packed with people. My food came out fresh and hot. I sat down and put on a movie and was ready to dig into my chicken. The chicken is crispy and juicy. The gravy was phenomenal. I dipped everything in the gravy. Everything was so freaking good. I can't wait to go back for more. I ate everything!

Jollibee's has the best fried chicken out of all the fast food chains hands down. Order fulfillment on the other hand has been on a gradual decline since a few years ago. I think it's because they've started doing online orders from their app and food delivery sites in the same kitchen space. It seems to me that they might be overwhelmed with not enough space to complete all the orders in a timely fashion. Last visit, I placed an instore order and had to wait over half an hour for my food. This time in order to avoid that I placed an order within the app half an hour beforehand. It was 3 when I placed the order so the lunch rush should've been over. Once I got there, the app said my order was ready but staff couldn't find my order at the pickup area or the counter pickup. They went back to the kitchen to find out why so many people's orders were delayed and it turns out my order actually wasn't even ready yet supposedly due to an app glitch? So in the end, the order took almost an hour to be ready...PSA if you plan to place an order, do it at least an hour beforehand because if they can't even meet the hour quota, then they really need to work on the speed of completing the orders on time. There's been a couple of times where utensils or food items are missing from the order so be sure to do a quick check before leaving the store.

First of all, the chicken is over brined which resulted in the chicken being very salty and some of the meat looks bruised from underneath. But this is not the main issue. We got two buckets of fried chicken, 1 being spicy and the other one not. We must hit the lottery or something since all 5 people who ate jollibee that day got food poisoning that lasted up to 3 days with diarrhea, bloating and some nausea. We also got some sides, mashed potatoes( tasted oddly floral, cant explain it), fries, cold slaw (this one tasted disgusting, why is it so sweet???). I would not recommend the fried chicken here for health concerns. The chicken also tastes below average for all the jollibee hype. Im starting to think they're selling unhealthy injured chicken with all the bruising on the meat. Please go to Popeyes or anywhere else to save yourself from shitting your guts out for days.

For me, not many cravings hit as hard as fried chicken. Unfortunately, in NYC, I feel there is a lack of high quality restaurants serving this southern staple at a reasonable price. Hence, most normal people without an expense account tend to resort to fast food chains like Popeyes or KFC. Well, there is a better option that's been serving the Woodside neighborhood for nearly 15 years. Jolibee is a Filipino fried chicken chain situated in the heart of where their people live. Luckily, they serve everyone else too, so I love stopping here once in a while to get my fix. Tbh, I am not a sides person because nothing really blows me away at any of the chain restaurants. Same goes for Jolibee even though their sides are much more unique compared to competitors. Doesn't matter because I'm here for the chicken. Speaking of those delicious pieces of poultry goodness, their version is always consistent. The batter is not greasy like Popeyes or too thick like KFC. Instead, it's perfectly crispy with a thin coating of batter. As for the meat, it's juicy and flavorful every time. Not sure if they brine overnight, but that would be my guess as to why it's always so good. Is this the best fried chicken I ever had? Of course not. I can't compare it to my favorites such as Hattie B's in Nashville or Willie Mae's in New Orleans. However, when you need a quick fix and don't want to overpay for simple home cooking, then I feel like Jolibee is a very good option.

A true Filipino staple! I went on a Saturday afternoon so it was pretty packed, though I managed to get a seat. I've had Jollibee before, and the spaghetti is not my favorite (had it with pineapple juice and it was a disaster for my tummy, but the crispy chicken is definitely fire.

Omfg! I finally get the hype. As I'm typing this i'm salivating. Spicy is too much for me even with my decent tolerance level. Crispy crispy flavorful chicken. There's usually a long wait. Forget trying to order doordash/uber eats on super busy days. I got the "unable to fulfill your order" on a Saturday lunch period. I haven't gone into this restaurant yet, maybe someday. I hope they open up more stores and keep this quality going. Kids ate my pies so i can't write reviews on those

Absolutely terrible experience at this Jollibee location. I placed a pickup order with a scheduled time of 4:40 PM, yet when I arrived, my food wasn't even ready. What's the point of setting a pickup time if they don't follow it? After waiting longer than I should have, I finally got my order--only to realize when I got to my car that they didn't include utensils for the spaghetti. Seriously?! How am I supposed to eat it with my hands? On top of that, no ketchup for the fries, even though I specifically selected utensils in the order options. It's just basic attention to detail--especially for a fast food chain that specializes in meals that obviously need utensils. Super frustrating and disappointing. Do better, Jollibee.

Is this place permanently closed? I just walked by, and it was boarded up with a "closed" sign on the door, and there were construction workers walking in and out. Hope it's just being renovated and isn't closed forever.

They posted a sign they would be closed from the 20th for three weeks. I posted a photo of the sign already. If you click pictures then menu, it shows the sign as a menu

Do they serve chicken breast/ white meat?

Went for the first time today. No white meat chicken. Very odd. Not interested in that type of chicken. Others may, but not my favorite, so I won't be eating there.

Did they change the spicy chicken recipe? I got it today, and it wasn't spicy at all! What happened to the spicy powder they used to sprinkle on top?

Yah sadly!!! I want them to bring the old spicy powder back !!! I'll sign a petition

    Is parking available close by?

There's always metered parking at the side streets.

Most places can get by with at least one of the two but when both are faltering, then it's a tough sell overall. The remaining two stars are for the speedy delivery and relatively solid prices. Unfortunately that's about as good as it gets. This location has been around for a good minute and yet they've somehow fallen behind their sister location in Sunnyside (#1), which isn't all that great to begin with either. There are places to sit here, but it's primarily a takeout / delivery spot. I'm not sure where to start with the food. The chicken is supposed to be the star of the show, with a bunch of birds all lined up at the window slowly being cooked to woo the crowd. While the chicken has a nice char to the skin, the rest of it is incredibly bland. I've been dousing it in the house salsa every time and somehow that's still not enough. The sides are extremely mediocre. Mac and cheese is watery, almost like a bad version of boxed mac. The mashed potatoes are similar, as is the orzo salad, potato salad, and veggies. On a happier note, the rice is the best option of the bunch, but my apprehension to try other items is unlikely to change. Lastly, the service has been tough. Some days it's rude phone manners, others it's 'tude from the counter. Most of the staff is bilingual, as Spanish is super useful in this hood. They are quick to get orders out though, so that's one minor saving grace but the rest of their offerings may be worth holding off for awhile. _____________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-original-american-chicken-ii-sunnyside
