This is one of the worst shake shack locations. Poor prep quality and they tend to forget items. Shake shack do better !

This place is a gem for sure. It sits in an old prewar building on the 1st floor. I had no idea…read morethis place existed to be honest. I don't know why I thought it was closer to astoria. As soon as you walk in you get that speak easy vibe with hip hop, real hip hop. The lights are so fun with hanging candles. It was giving Harry potter vibes. :::bathroom alert::: Look as soon as I went into the elden ring bathroom I lost my mind. If you're a gamer you know what I am talking about. Fans of game of thrones, boy oh boy do they have a treat for you! A throne toliet, geeze I wish I had to poop at that point, lol. I went to the second bano to see what it was, I was not disappointed. For the wings, I wasnt too impressed to he honest. Very bready with white sauce, I've had better. The service was really fast, very pleased with that. My friends indulged the whiskey flight, it looked really fun. I wanted to partake but thats too much whiskey for me. The peach and cream sour was delicious! I could see myself coming back. Had a great time and loved the space.

I thought it was just one a one off thing, but it turns out their burger is insanely salty too. It seems like they pre-salt their burger patties since the texture is kind of gummy? The alternative is to salt the patties during cooking to retain the structure and feel of a beef patty. The overall meal was a disappointment. I'll have to try it again the future. Maybe theres a different cook in the back. For the value of $18, it's not bad, but not great on the tastebuds.

The place is small and casual, with the kind of setup where you can just sit down, eat and not overthink it.

The premise is simple: there is a burger for everyone, so eat well and eat everything. (#1) They've done a good job with the place, making so that seating is comfortable and functional while keeping the vibe casual. Their open space allows for a lot of natural light, which makes this an easy lunch destination or delivery option. The staff is active and young, constantly fielding orders from all directions. Their variety of burgers is second to none. From smashburgers to breakfast burgers and to heartier patties. I prefer a double patty with cheese and bacon with a healthy heap of fries. On the days ai feel indulgent, id combine it with a shake. Try a fry, eat some wings, and explore the different types of burgers thet have to offer. While most of the things feel pricey, know is the portions are on point. They've managed to survive and stay relevant in a neighborhood that doesn't do burgers well. ___________ (#1) Or maybe that's my slogan.

I went with the Bolo Bun Cod Fish Burger with Wedge Fries, Salad and HK Milk Tea combo. Everything was freshly made. - Bolo Bun Cod Fish Burger: They are not skimpy with the cod! The burger has a big (almost as big as the bun!) and a small chunk of flaky Cod, coated in a crisp sturdy batter. The bolo added some sweetness, which went well in the burger. Most of the bolo is missing that flaky crisp bite, but that is the nature of making it into a sandwich. The edges were still crisp. - Wedges: fantastic! Crispy exterior, with a fluffy interior. The shape (looks like it is a thick spiral cut) lends well to that texture. - Salad: was fresh, with a non descript dressing. Added some greens and crunch (onions and pickled radish) to the meal. - HK Milk Tea: Great tea flavor and not too milky. There was a lot of ice though. Overall, a great quick spot to hit if you're in the area. I will have to try the fried pork cutlet next time!

Where blue-collar Cantonese lunch meets British influence. You MUST get the pulled (6+ times!) stocking Hong Kong Milk Tea (less ice). The cafe's version is actually much better than the C-pp- Tea shop (specializing in it) down the block. This tea is medium-strong and medium creamy (creamer & evaporated milk + sugar). I've had the Black Pepper Beef Noodles/ Spaghetti. The flavor and sauce was excellent & well seasoned. Lots of pepper and onion slices. I like the blend of Western spaghetti with the savory sauce. One issue was the thin-cut shaved beef in the dish. Seems like the chef folds it into the noodles because it cooks so fast, but I had a lot of underdone pieces which might have gotten me sick. I would order this dish again because the flavor was that good, but ask for the meat "well-done" or served on the side. Marathon Cafe is inside LIC Food Hall. The staff is kind & their design & packaging is creative and UX Friendly (Full-size utensils!) Lots of seating, strong A/C & restrooms in the basement.
