Dad asked me to go to Orvis to get a dog leash last month. He had tried every dog leash he could find for his small wiggly dog. Orvis carries a rope leash that is perfect and she doesn't wiggle lose. On my mission to fetch a leash, I was pleased to see the large selection of shirts that look awesome on Dad. It inspired me to freshen up his wardrobe too. He looks excellent! The female staff person on that day rescued me as I was loading up my arms. She too was kind and respectful. It took a long time just to get a women's fitting room, and when we asked for help with boots and sizing, we were basically told that whatever was out was all they had. I also needed help finding boots that would work for wider calves, but we weren't given many options or much assistance. My husband was already pretty frustrated with the service at that point. Thankfully, we came across the manager, Steven, and he completely turned our experience around! He took the time to help me find the right size boots and helped with my wide-calf concerns. He also helped my husband get properly fitted for a hat. What started as a frustrating experience ended up being a great one because of Steven. He was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I just walked out of the store as an older employee (male, heavy set, around 60 Y/O) was very rude…read more I walked in with my 2 kids, they were walking a few feet behind looking at shoes not even touching them. The man walk up to them from behind and with a very demeaning voice asked if they lost someone or if they were with someone. When I turned around and asked if there was a problem he changed his demeanor and tone of voice and tried to be helpful but I just cut him off and told him I didn't need any help. After thinking about it for a few seconds my blood just started boiling and walked out before I caused a scene. Even if they were by themselves, which my son goes to this mall quite often with his girlfriend they should be able to walk freely without anyone harassing them.
