Food, service, and atmosphere! The food was packed with flavor. I refused to dip or add any table sauce. The service was very warm and welcoming which made it an overall very enjoyable moment for me and my husband. The ambiance was intimate and pleasant for any group of people - coworkers, family, or if you're on a date. The atmosphere I personally loved. Very devout believers which explains the warmth, the kindness, the respect, and connection you get from the Johnson family. And, what a beautiful family they are. A MUST GO!

Visited on a Saturday evening. A friend from out of state joined me. Greeted promptly by the hostess and by our server. I have one complaint-the portion size for the lemonade is too small for the price. With that being said-the food was very good and the lemonade was too. We enjoyed our visit. Yes-I would go back again.

The food here is really good and I was definitely satisfied with my quesadilla that I had ordered. I know that this restaurant is on the newer side where they may still be working on figuring out their flow with food orders as it did take a while to even get our drinks and we were the only people in at the time. I would give it another shot later down the line once they work out the service kinks or place an order as I really do hope they make the necessary improvements!

I came in with a friend on an early Friday evening, and promptly seated. It seems to be all street parking and a seat yourself kind of place. I got the crawfish bread with shrimp and it was good, fresh and hot. While it was good, it seems like they toasted the bread then put all of the toppings on, like it was two separate items. The shrimp were good. We were offered to go cups of our beverages, which was a nice touch. Everything inside was neat, clean and home looking.

We visited Johnson's Kitchen for the first time today, a Friday, at lunch. We were WELCOMED in by the server, hostess, front-manager, all in one. The house was nearly half full and she was BUSY, but keeping up with everyone's orders and cheques. The food was simply amazing . The BBQ Bacon Burger was huge, the meat was seared perfectly and had plenty of bacon. We felt like we were actually APPRECIATED for being there and honestly that doesn't happen in many larger, chain type places. This is a sort of "hole in the wall" place, but a truly delightful one. We'll be back.

This local family spot is to die for. Had the special that included Red Beans n Rice, generous catfish portion, the best yams I've ever tasted and a large piece of cornbread. All of the food was obviously fresh and tasty. Another great "new" addition to downtown Hammond's underrated culinary scene. The service was with a smile and a nice laid back atmosphere. Looking for to checking out their Crawfish Bread next time!

Our party of 5 came in on a Friday evening. The restaurant was slight busy but there was no wait time. Our waitress greeted us quickly and took our drink orders. After she served us our drinks, she informed us that there would be a little wait before take our orders, as she had to clear out another table. The wait time for our food, after our orders were taken was a bit longer than desired. However, when the food was delivered to our table hot, fresh and delicious that time more than made up for itself. I order the appetizer sample with DJ fries, lemon pepper wings and crawfish bread. All was 10/10! Presentation, taste and flavor was all great! I would highly recommend dining here, despite the wait time for food.

Visited our friends at Johnsons Kitchen again! Took our ladies church group this time. We do miss them being less than a mile from the house, but I love the new space in Downtown Hammond! Ordered my personal fave, Crawfish Rolls. Best item on the menu!! Everything that everyone ordered was fresh, delicious and full of flavor. We will continue to support Johnsons Kitchen every chance we get. Love this family & that we have a Faith Based business in Hammond.

    Crawfish bread is the best.

Once again a great Friday night!! Friday's are the best because they have seafood potatoes!!! My husband loves the burgers and SIL the wings. The waiter was so thoughtful and helpful. We love the ambiance and family atmosphere.

My take home leftovers they give you a lot of good tasty food.

The food was delicious, hot fresh and very, very good. The service overall I gave it a 10+. The ambience is a nice cozy beautifully decorated restaurant.

    Uplifting & encouraging atmosphere!

OMG. Devoured it in 3 mins no time for a picture lol. I ordered the one with grilled shrimp and crawfish tails which was I think $22.99. Enjoy!

What are the hours of operation? Went by there one evening and they were closed.

Firehouse Subs, hey little PSA!…read more I didn't realize this place was showing such poor management skills and the staff not providing quality orders! I ordered a TURKEY BACON "RANCH" sandwich for lunch, but it wasn't ranch -- more like some kind of honey mustard. I don't have time to come back and get it remade. When I called, they told me they can't do anything unless I bring the sandwich back right now. I said, "I can't do that, and gas isn't free!" They just said, "Oh well, that's our policy." So basically, they can mess up your food and still expect you to pay for it! I'm really tired of places making mistakes and expecting the customer to pay for them. This was at the Hammond location. The sandwich cost $15 and was ruined. Yes, I got frustrated because they kept saying it's their policy. But the policy should be to make sandwiches correctly or at least not inconvenience customers. Then some guy on the phone said he was the manager. When I asked for his name, he started saying this is ridiculous and kept cutting me off. Meanwhile, a girl in the background called someone else and said there was a lady on the phone having a full-on meltdown. I wasn't upset until they got rude to me, cutting me off saying "oh well," and expected me to just drop everything and rush back. They basically told me, "Well, I messed up, and you need to come back to fix it, otherwise you're out of luck." The guy said, "Ma'am, sorry, but we're busy!" When I picked up my order, there were only three customers and three workers there. The management and staff are unprofessional, and it's disappointing to see such poor service. Use to go here all the time and the people there were so polite and knew who i was. Never had this happen before. Really sad

A Most Transcendent Evening at Cochon…read more There are meals... and then there are moments of gastronomic revelation. My husband Tony and I found ourselves perched at the bar of the illustrious Cochon in New Orleans, a temple of Southern culinary indulgence that greets its guests not merely with hospitality, but with a full-bodied embrace of Louisiana charm. From the very moment we settled in, the staff enveloped us in attentiveness so effortless and warm it felt less like service and more like an invitation into a cherished family kitchen. But let us begin where all proper feasts should: with oysters. The evening opened with a magnificent appetizer--plump oysters luxuriating in a chilled butter so decadent it bordered on sinful. Accompanied by freshly baked buns, warm and pillowy, they existed solely as vessels to sop up that buttery glory. Each bite was a gentle overture, a teasing prelude that merely whetted the appetite for the orchestral crescendo of flavors yet to come. And then... the oyster sandwich arrived. Reader, I do not employ hyperbole lightly when I say this sandwich changed my life. The oysters were fried to a perfection so delicate that the exterior whispered with crispness while the interior remained tender and briny. The flavors did not simply sit upon the tongue; they reached to the very edges of my palate, cascading across it with vivid, electric intensity. Each bite felt like a celebration of the Gulf itself--salty, rich, and unapologetically indulgent. Meanwhile, the cocktails--crafted with the kind of thoughtful precision that suggests genuine affection for the art of drink--arrived with impeccable recommendations from the staff, whose guidance proved unfailingly inspired. It is rare to encounter a restaurant where every element harmonizes: the food, the service, the atmosphere, the rhythm of the evening. Yet Cochon accomplishes this with such grace that one suspects it has been doing so for generations. If the culinary heavens operated with proper administrative oversight, this establishment would not merely receive a Michelin star--it would be awarded five, along with a standing ovation and perhaps a small brass plaque commemorating the oyster sandwich that irrevocably altered the trajectory of my existence. To dine at Cochon is not simply to eat. It is to revel. And revel we most certainly did
