These projects were supposed to be completed within a maximum of one month. My spouse repeatedly asked the owner of this company to provide the final version of the contract for signature, but Mohammad kept delaying and avoiding this request with various excuses. According to the agreement, we were supposed to pay 30% of the contract amount at the start of the projects, and the remaining amount upon their completion. Unfortunately, due to an unfounded and mistaken trust in Mohammad, my spouse ended up paying him the full amount within a month -- even though, after seven months, the projects are still not finished and Mohammad is no longer answering our calls. He even failed to pay his workers, and we had to provide fruit, sweets, food, and lunch daily to Mohammad's workers for two months. Although my spouse has hired a skilled legal attorney and this matter is being pursued through the legal system, the stress and mental toll he has endured during this time is irreparable. Therefore, if you are considering a renovation or construction project in your home (painting, roofing, remodeling, finishing basement, retaining wall, etc.) , I strongly advise you not to consider this company or its owner. The most dishonest, incompetent, and disgraceful qualities a person can have are embodied in the character of this company's owner.

They were very sloppy got paint speckle's on my entire new floor and baseboards. Paint on my stairs leading to the outside and even on my driveway. Left the room with dust everywhere and did not move my furniture back as he said they do. Did not clean or prime the walls before painting them. I had a dust web on one wall corner and it was still there when they said they were finished painting. You can see roller marks on my ceiling and missed panting marks. Every appointment we had with him he either was hours late or did not show up. No phone calls and no shows. We have cameras in our house and they were standing on my $10,000 pool table and my speakers to paint. When I confronted both Haroon and the supervisor Gino all they said was "well was there any damage". After several attempts and missed appointments Haroon agreed to come back. Of course he was 8 hours late and all he said after I pointed out the horrible painting job is that he want to get past all of this and would repaint. 2 more appointments set up with him and no show and no calls. After 2 phones calls of calling the company Times Construction I left a message that I will be going to small claims court about this the supervisor Gino called and assured me that he will get this corrected or refund my money. Same scenario no show for appointments although he did call one time and said that the person that was to come got kick out of the place that she/he lived in and they could not make it. Wanted to set up another appointment on a day that my husband was having surgery. I explained I would need to call back to give them the time. Well I called gave the Ok to come and again no show no call. On top of all of this we have a TV on the wall and Haroon said that they are painting around it because no one can see behind the TV. What a joke. My husband took the TV off of the wall and told them to be careful as it was leaning against our couch. Haroon knocks the TV over and tells my sister " oh well they need a new TV anyways". They also only painted half of the room because they said that paneling cannot be painted. When we researched this and confronted him about it he said too much work. Our contract was for him to paint the paneling. I am now going to take them to small claims court. Beware!

We went with a complete overhaul of the building including many custom elements that we didn't even know existed. The team and ownership group was very hands on from the start, kept us informed and delivered on their promises. They have an actual office that we consulted at which is not always the case with other companies. We were able to see their work first hand before committing. With other companies in the past, you almost have to go off of their word, which can be risky, but this made us much more comfortable signing up with them. I do NOT recommend Ron and his company R-Deco…read more OVERPRICED Ron provides quotes that are extremely overpriced, at about 2x the price of any other company. A recent example was for a siding replacement project where he quoted almost 2x the nearest 3 companies who were all licensed, insured, and bonded (more on that later) and over 2x the lowest priced company who was not. And this was on a project in an HOA that he'd been working on for over a decade, so his bid should have come in the lowest of all because he'd already done the work for numerous other homes/units. UNCOMMUNICATED SCOPE CHANGES For the two projects I received a quote from Ron, both had their scope so drastically modified from what was requested by me that the projects and their prices were incomparable to what was actually needed. On the first project I asked for one door and 1/4 of a window to be recaulked, and he came back with an extremely expensive quote that was actually for caulking basically the entire exterior of my home/unit. On the second project I asked for all the siding to my rooftop penthouse to be replaced and he came back with a quote for just 4 of 12 panels to be replaced, without ever mentioning the scope change, perhaps so he could have me blindly sign the contract thinking I was getting what I wanted at a reasonable price when I would really only get 1/3 of what I asked for. EXCESSIVE DEPOSIT Ron charges a 60% deposit at contract signing and 50% of the remainder a week before the project begins, essentially requiring he is paid 80% of the already 2x overpriced job 1 week before any work even begins. This leaves absolutely no negotiating power to the buyer as Ron has already made all his profit and can just walk away or do a terrible job as he pleases. This kind of deposit is also completely out of line with industry standard, where companies require deposits of 50% or less, not 80%. RELUCTANT TO PROVIDE CREDENTIALS Ron won't provide you with either his license (which he doesn't seem to actually have, later on that), his insurance, or his bond information upfront like any other legitimate contractor. He requires that you sign his contract before he will provide you any of this. That's like someone claiming they're an airplane pilot but requiring you to commit to flying with them and only offering to show you their "credentials" when you're already on the plane and the doors are locked. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. LICENSING NOT FOUND Perhaps the reason Ron doesn't provide his credentials like licensing is that he in fact is NOT licensed, at least certainly not as a roofing contractor per the IDFPR website, though he advertises these services. He also cannot be found in the Chicago contractor database, even though he wanted to perform such General Contractor and/or Electrical license requiring tasks like swapping out an electrical exterior GFCI outlet during my siding project. Apparently he has been working in my HOA for over a decade, with the only reason that I've found so far being that he's the only one that's offered as an option for work by the HOA and Owner's just go with him to avoid the hassle of finding someone else. Of the 5 Owners that I've talked to though, all have negative experiences with him, including for overpricing and bad/not complete work. I will be recommending my HOA never work with Ron and his company R-Deco again and I would recommend you avoid him and his company as well.

Jim Gracia and his whole team were such a pleasure to work with. Jim is so professional and thinks…read moreof everything. He has remodeled a ton of kitchens, so he foresees most issues before they arise. He had a great relationship with our kitchen designer (Kitchen Design Partners - Nancy Jacobson), so the entire process was painless and often didn't require much effort on my part. Jim is also creative - he came up with the perfect solution to fix a weird nook that resulted from some demolition work. Jim was very quick to respond to any questions, and always made me aware of the work schedule. Jim's estimate broke everything down nicely allowing us to see how much some extra work would cost so that my wife and I could decide to move forward with some projects and forego others that were outside our budget. But most importantly everything looks amazing. The picture says more than I ever could. I will definitely work with Jim again in the future for any remodeling needs.

We were given several promises and…read more"no, problem, we can do that" sort of talk, and later on as the project went on and invoices were paid (we always paid on time), some of those promises were magically no longer possible. We paid on time, always, but timelines by Jim were not kept. I do not mean timelines related to supply chain issues or them being busy....we totally understood that. What I mean is that he would say he would call/text at a certain day or time and we would never hear back. Sometimes it would take a MONTH to hear (no joke), it would take a MONTH to get an invoice. It took from June to November to address our punch list which just took 1.5 days of actual work on site. Most of the work was great and good quality, and they clean up after themselves well every day. However, some of the subcontractors would lean materials against newly painted walls and they did leave pizza boxes lying around and fast food containers at times when they left for the day. As the project came to a close, the response time was longer and longer. There's no excuse for it, but I think I would use them again as the work is good, as long as you are very patient when you don't hear back as promised. Also, we had our cabinets repainted and the subcontractor had to touch them up after we noticed several unpainted areas. Since the project we have also noticed that they did not move the refrigerator to paint the walls next to the refrigerator and you can see if you stand in front of the refrigerator the old paint color next to the new paint color on the wall. I will have to have someone to come in and fix that. Additionally, the tiles in the bathroom were installed with bubbles in the caulk. They did fix that. Jim also told me they could not remove the rust from the door hinges on the doors of the bathrooms without taking the doors off the hinges, and that it would be a huge undertaking. Since then, we've had the building superintendent take a look, and he was able to remove the rest from the door hinges in a couple of hours without removing the doors. Cost me $150. Easy. ***UPDATE: I would not use this company again. Jim told me point blank at the initial meeting they could move a thermostat from the middle of a wall (eye sore) to the corner so I could have a cleaner look. This was something I expressed wanted and was told it was no problem. After the contracts are signed, and after invoice after invoice was paid on time, I would bring up the thermostat being moved, and it was always pushed to the side in the conversation. Eventually, I was told by Jim that it would be too expensive to do and far too difficult. In the end, the thermostat stayed in the same location and they replaced it with a new thermostat of their choosing. The thermostat they chose and installed has poor reviews online. The thermostat has not been giving accurate readings since April and we reached out to some HVAC companies about coming by to check it out. Three companies came and all said our HVAC system was fine, but the new thermostat Jim installed was faulty and was the problem. There was no way for us to get an accurate reading. I texted Jim the situation and told him that the HVAC company we trusted and we have used before was on site and was willing to install a new thermostat including labor for $300. He texted me back saying that he was at a sporting event in WI and would call me as soon as he could. In my text, I asked him how he would like me to proceed, and if I should have the new thermostat installed since the HVAC guy was already here and if they would reimburse me or if they wanted to come by and replace it later. I never heard back from Jim, ever. Not a peep. So unprofessional. I have passed along his information to 3 designers as I'm in the industry. This is not how you treat customers. The HVAC company came back days later and installed a new thermostat - now everything is fine. I paid for this out of pocket. Still, nothing from Jim.

Very reasonable prices. We paid about half up front with balace at completion. We did have some add-ons, which Christian priced out for us, so there were no surprises come final payment. The crew was punctual every day and worked very quickly. They were also very patient with us as we made some adjustments, i.e. paint color. Prior to starting, we provided Christian our Home Depot credit card so he was able to buy all the materials. No problem with that. At completion, he hauled away all the debris. I highly recommend Thunder. Super nice guys. Reasonably priced. Excellent craftsman. The pictures below don't really do the job justice but you get the idea. Thank you, Thunder!
