I need professional, quality and commitment to my projects. It started off good and ended with a remodeling project being left uncompleted with very little communication. The timeliness of the project has been over 3 months. The professionalism doesn't exist. Several no call, no shows. When a contractor shows up but not staying focus on the job because they're on personal calls while working (making mistakes). The price of the labor was to good to be true and now I know why, the service I received was awful. I honesty feel they bit off more than they could chew. Very unpleased with the overall detail and quality of work and wouldn't recommend.

Bill was very polite, called me over the weekend to set up the time and said he'd go to the jobsite to get his guys started and then come and meet with me. He just sent me a text message (not even dignified enough to call) at 8:30pm the night before saying "We are currently too busy to take on any new jobs until September. Call me early summer." Bill is what gives contractors a bad name. Sure he might do good work, but he does not respect people's time and schedules. A simple, "Sorry, would love to help you, but we are booked through September" would have done fine at the first call. Terrible customer service and I imagine this speaks to how you might be treated as a client if he did manage to get in your door.

After experiencing water damage that required our wall, ceiling and floors be replaced, we reached out to Hazes in April 2022 to complete the project. The timeline for our project was initially supposed to take a week and a half and is still, technically not finished. The communication around when workers would be at the house and when they would have certain projects completed was never accurate- most days the workers came hours later than they said they would, sometimes no one would come at all when we were assured workers would be out that day. We were charged more than we had agreed to pay and have not been refunded for either the overcharges or for materials and labor that were never used. A $500 piece of furniture was damaged by the company while they were doing their work and we have been told insurance will cover it but that was awhile ago and I have very little faith we will actually see that money (I am happy to update this review if we should receive the money). I am giving 2 stars because the flooring and paint were done well, but everything else we asked them to do doesn't look great and will most likely need to be redone at some point. Again, I think Jonathan was stretched too thin with many projects at one time which is problematic but on some level understandable. What I cannot excuse was the really terrible communication around timelines, expectations, and budget and the fact that this project still technically has not been completed.

They even provide receipts for materials, which I appreciate. US Home Construction worked on two projects for me. One was to re-tile my fireplace and the other was a little more complex - to build out a new wall/doorway and install two large metal and glass doors on a track. Hi, Had to review…read morethese guys - I had a few guys come out and give me estimates on a new AC systems this past week, estimates went from 1800 to 3500 - I was looking for something affordable so I called the guys with the 1800 estimate on Friday and see if we could schedule something for Sat or Monday, I was told that they were scheduled until Wed. That's when I call JEM, their estimate was a little higher, they put me on the schedule for Monday. They showed up on the window given and completed the install in about six hours, the one thing that impressed me about these guys is that from the beginning the kept the jobsite (my basement) clean, the wore shoe covers to protect my carpet.. nice... Will use them again in the future when needed..

I typically don't write reviews but this man is pretty much a scammer. He was pretty pleasant through contract signing for completing a basement with laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, family room & kitchenette. We were told the process would take 4 months. It took 8 with many days of him and his crew just not showing up. If you questioned him on anything he did, he would just not show for a while. He literally cut a 2 x5' hole in my upstairs family room hard wood without discussing it with me ahead of time to make headroom for the stairs. We are now a few years down the road from his work and paying over $10K to have the leaking shower totally torn out and redone. The new contractor discovered all the short cuts Nelson took from not overlapping the membrane, screwing holes through the membrane, not using treated wood, not even gluing in the quartz window ledge. AND he didn't even put a pea trap in our shower drain which was not even centered. Disappointed in Elmwood inspectors not catching that one. We also discovered after the fact that he installed PVC for our dryer vent (which is not code). ABT will not hook up a new dryer until we get that replaced which will involve ripping out another wall. Our ventilation in the basement was not done properly either and have paid over $1,000 to try to remedy that but haven't been able to fully resolve the issues. These are just a couple of the major things but there is definitely more. We would have been happy to pay more to NOT deal with all of the headaches Nelson caused. Save yourself the hassle and find another contractor.

The owner Nelson will at first come off pleasant up until the contract is signed. Then his disrespect for YOU the client shows up. And if you are a woman the disrespect is worse. Their work is not good period. They take short cuts and try to convince you it is the correct way. Not even close, trust me. That's when the owner tries to talk his way out of the shoddy work. Stay away, save yourself the aggravation.
