I've shopped at this Ace Hardware location for over 10 years. I've never been treated so rudely and for no reason that I can tell. You go to Ace Hardware for more personal service, service you do not get at the big box stores. I have a plumbing problem and hoped I could resolve it, even if temporarily, before spending a couple hundred bucks on a plumber. Simple and reasonable, at least to me. I went in the store, showed the part to the guy at the counter, I folliwed him to the plumbing aisle, he did not have the replacement part and recommended a plumber. He said the part could not be repaired and did not want to sell me something that I could not use. He walked away to do something else. It took 5, maybe 6 minutes of his time. Ok, fine. I continued to look hoping for a temporary solution. I went to the counter and asked his opinion. 2 minutes of his time. He instantly became exasperated and impatient. He exhaled and grew increasingly irritated because I asked his opinion. He was rude, and clearly my presence in the store was annoying him. He provided a contact number for a plumber - of course I would never call his contact after my experience with him. I am so disappointed. read more

I stopped in to find a specific fluorescent lightbulb for an old lamp that my uncle had. I was having trouble finding one, and a younger gentleman can to assist. He looked up and down the aisle, checked a couple things online and couldn't find a bulb that fit the lamp. He then referred me to another gentleman at the front who also took the time to try to go online to find something that would meet the specifications. Apparently the lamp is now obsolete, and no bulbs are made for it, but it wasn't for lack of trying!! read more

I went in to buy some green egg charcoal on a Sunday because my normal place was closed. I found that the charcoal was much more expensive. I thought maybe it was inflation but after checking the marked up prices were isolated to the store and confirm higher just as I thought. Green Egg charcoal 20# was approximately 39.00 with tax for one. I generally buy it at The Mad Hatter for 29.95. The off brands were also higher at this store than where I normally shop. They didn't have the off brand, 20# Jealous Devil, which I usually purchase for 24.75 and really like it and it's resealable plastic zip lock style bag. I ended up settling for the Meat Head brand in a paper bag for a few dollars more. The product itself seems similar in burn. read more

Very helpful neighborhood hardware store. They might not have the depth of inventory that you see at the Home Depot or Lowes, but they have the breadth! I especially go there for specific sized fasteners. They have a much wider selection than any other local store I know of. read more

My "go to" hardware store. I've gotten everything from gardening tools, to paint and stain, to electrical supplies at this store. Service ======== This place really shines with service. My wife, daughters and I have been in here about 20-30 times collectively and we've never had a bad customer service experience. This is the one hardware store I trust my wife and daughters will get taken care of in my absence. They are always helpful finding different things in their medium-sized hardware store. Checkout is always a breeze. Price ======= Price is about average among hardware stores. Probably not as high as some specialty hardware stores, but not as inexpensive as I've found on Amazon for some items. Selection ======= The store has just about everything I've needed in a pinch which is pretty amazing (since the store isn't anywhere near "super Walmart" sized. Sometimes, I won't think they'll have something, but a quick conversation with a store employee shows me how wrong I am. I think the only thing they didn't have were some specialty power tools I was looking for a while ago. Summary ======== Like I said, this is my "go to" hardware store. The only people wearing masks in the store are the customers. When I asked the girl at the checkout she said they "offer a choice". Which is great for their employees since they are all young and probably won't die if they get Covid. Today, I went to start up my Weber S320 Propane grill and heard propane leaking from the regulator. I went online, Google Search, looking for a replacement Propane Hose. Most of the brick and mortar stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, and Walmart didn't carry in stores. They had Ship to Store or Ship to Home ETAs from 2-7 days. I checked Ace Hardware since there was one about 3 miles away. The local store didn't show stock, but a check of nearby Ace stores, showed two Ace stores (Buford and Johns Creek, 13-15 miles away) had item in stock. I was surprised. I thought, "Maybe I should call the local Ace, to see if there was a slim chance that they had it in stock." It would save me the 14 mile drive to Johns Creek. I spent 10 mins on the phone trying to get them to eyeball if they had the item. Big waste of time. Afterwards, I called the Johns Creek Ace Store. The guy who answered went to look and found it in a minute. He put my name on it and would hold it. Wow. Very professional. Big difference from the other Ace store. I decided that drive down there to pick up the hose. When I walked in, I was impressed with the Grill section, which was at the front of the store on the right. They had a huge section of Grills and Grill accessories. They carried the Green Egg with many accessories for it. They also had so many Grill add ones to make grilling more interesting. A young redhead woman came over to ask if I needed assistance. She was very professional and knowledgeable of the grills and accessories. I ended up looking around the store more. This was the nicest looking Ace Hardware Store that I have ever seen. Everything was organized nicely. Displays looked really good. They had a lot of stuff. Merchandising was great. Not messy. I walked over to the Weber section. They had a lot of accessories. I even found a replacement igniter for my S320. I have been trying to find this igniter for three years. As I was checking out, I spoke to the Redhead again. I forgot to look at her name tag. I told her that this was the best looking Ace Hardware ever. I also told her that the store reminds me of a cross between a Hardware store and a General Store. I will be back. This store rocks. Great customer service and a go do selection of grill stuff. Very nice local hardware store, I have been visiting for years and quite pleased with the service and selection until I had to deal with thier small engine repair people. I have a pressure washer that wouldn't start, brought it to the store, waited a week to get it fixed and serviced and after picking it up it still wouldn't start. Not only that, it was leaking gas. I called the store and was told to bring it back. I wanted to make sure this is addressed immediately since I already made 2 trips to the store, but was told that it will be addressed once they finished what they have going on at the moment.... I insisted saying they have not done a good job to begin with to no avail. I ended up finding the leak by myself and fixing it... I called later and complained to the manager, again to no avail. I recently purchased a Traeger Grill from an online source. In searching for some local sources for Traeger supplies, Traeger listed this location as a "Platinum Dealer". This location is about a 30 minute drive from our house and I wanted to see if it would be worth the drive. The short answer is "YES". We were greeted by Tori. She was very knowledgeable about the Traeger product line and was very informative about the many accessories available. While there, we also decided to wonder around the store to see some of the other items. This is truly a real hardware store. These guys are great! They really helped me out when I needed a programmable key. We ran into a problem with a dying battery which pushed them past their closing time. I saw them allow three separate customers who arrived late to go in and purchase their items. I had to come back in the morning because my battery died and Richard was there to meet me and take me to a local auto parts store to get a replacement. He was even willing to split the cost of my battery which was not any of his fault and I declined his generous offer. Good store overall, but this review is not about the store, it's about their reel mower repair knowledge. If you have a Fiskars reel mower, do not bring it here for blade sharpening. After sharpening, they set up the Fiskars like a common reel mower, which it isn't; i.e., they set it up for significant contact between the blade reel and the cutter blade, which the Fiskars does not require. When I tried to readjust the distance between blade reel and cutter blade, the bolt just spun in its socket (on both sides) -- the bolt was apparently stripped during repair. Had to buy a new Fiskars as a result. I would have appreciated being told that they did not have experience with or knowledge about sharpening/resetting a Fiskars reel mower. read more
