I've never had an experience like the one I received at our local crabapple ace hardware store. Every question I had was answered with fantastic enthusiasm and an honest "love for the game." From the moment I walked in to the check-out, every employee was so kind and happy to help. Not only did they repair my ego lawnmower, but they got it done fast and effectively. And their immense selection of Yeti's and Benjamin Moore paints was refreshing in comparison to nearby competitive stores. Safe to say, If I ever need a repair, help with my at-home projects, or a simple mood-booster, I will not hesitate to run to this store. I would recommend this store to anyone who will listen- and its not like I'm somebody to take time out of their day to write a review unless they truly deserved it. read more

Great friendly service with excellent inventory for quick DIY projects or yard projects

Staff always so helpful. Good job! Hope they stick around, as many have left the market!

Employee by the name of Dave made my fiancé and I feel extremely uncomfortable! First, I do not look like your typical "Ace Hardware" shopper. I certainly realize that based on the multiple visits to the Ace Hardware near my home in Woodstock (Morgan's Ace Hardware; I cannot recommend them enough). However, I've never been treated any differently when visiting that store - they're fantastic. This was NOT the case with Crabapple Ace Hardware. On June 12, 2021 at approximately 11:00am, my fiancé (black female) and I (biracial male) entered the store in hopes of finding a heat deflector plate for a Kamado Joe. We quickly realized that they did not sell KJ products and were a Big Green Egg dealer. Cool, no problem! Despite not having what I wanted, I figured I could still look at their selection of lump charcoal, bbq rubs, Weber Kettle accessories, etc. They did have a nice selection, I'll give them that. After being in the store for a few moments, we were approached by Dave. He first asked my fiancé if she needed help and she politely declined. He made it a point to stay there despite being told no. As I walked down the isle toward them he looked at me and asked the same. Judging off Dave's tone, body language and overall demeanor, he was not truly seeking to assist us. He was suspicious of us and that was very apparent! I declined his assistance as well and Dave then said in a snarky tone, "Well most people come into a hardware store looking for something specific". He then awkwardly remained there making us both very uncomfortable. Both my fiancé and I knew exactly what was going on at that point as it was very apparent. Instead of escalating the issue with Dave we decided to leave. Luckily for us, as we were leaving, we noticed that a new Urban Hardware had just opened across the street. The store was new, clean and the associates were more than helpful. They also carry Kamado Joe products and have an even bigger grilling selection. The experience at Urban Hardware was much better than Crabapple Ace Hardware! I'm not entirely sure what Dave's prejudice was? Was it because we're both young? Was it because my fiancé is black? Was it because I'm of mixed races? Was it because we're in an interracial relationship? Not sure, but its clear who Dave seeks to serve and who Dave does not want shopping there. Lastly, before you dismiss what I'm saying (as I know the "race card" can be used unfairly sometimes), peep my reviews. I've never left a review anything even remotely close to this one. read more

I'd give six stars if I could. We've been shopping there for several years and we've ALWAYS had friendly and helpful service! Prices are competitive and the selection is great. Excellent rewards program as well! It's a much more pleasant experience than the big box retailers! They always make me feel like a valued customer! read more

BEWARE: I took my Stihl KM 55 unit into this store because it would not start. After trying to start it they said it needed a tune up and charged me $42. When I went in to pick it up, they charged me another $42+. When I said I had already paid when I dropped it off, they said that the original charge was a "diagnostic" fee. What a rip-off. I recommend you get your equipment repaired somewhere else. read more

Great neighborhood hardware store. I called in advance to see if they had what I needed and they greeted me upon arriving and asked if I had just called. I was quickly shown the options they had for what I needed. Great shopping experience thanks to an excellent staff. read more

The Crabapple Ace Hardware is consistently terrific. It's always well staffed with friendly, knowledgeable people who are eager to help. The store stays well stocked with inventory. There's ample parking. The store works well with both in-house sales and sales processed through the Ace Hardware website. This is my favorite Ace Hardware. I've done a lot of business here and look forward to doing more. read more

Great selection and super knowledgeable employees. I've gone in completely lost and not sure what I need to fix something. The employees are always happy to help and get me exactly what I need. Reasonable prices as well. read more

New-ish Ace and a welcome alternative to the big-box hardware outlets. I'm from farther south and we had (and still have) Ace stores in my home town. The prices are higher on some items, lower on others, but you don't have to provision for a safari to find somebody to help you find what you're looking for, as is the case at Lowe's or HD. We zoomed in for some potting soil and a trenching shovel to get the herb garden going. No nonsense, in-and-out, and the staff was nice. Knowing that you're supporting a local business should matter. Visit Ace Hardware first when you're planning a project...you may be pleasantly surprised by the price and advice. read more

Crabapple Ace Hardware - The front. - Hardware Stores Near Me - Alpharetta, Georgia

I was encouraged to patronize this obscure little jewel by my neighbor, the retired sports marketer-turned-antiques dealer. Glad I did. About a pico-second after walking in, one of their helpful, not-pushy, salespeople greeted me and took to to exactly what I needed. I know my way around a hardware store. It comes along with home ownership and middle-aged manhood. Still, it was nice to have a guided tour. I can see where this would be an ideal hardware store for newbies to DIY. Will be back. read more

I always strive to use smaller stores rather than the big boys, but I always leave this store empty handed as they never have what I want. Ace Hardware? Hardly Any Ware. read more

Always nice and friendly. Very helpful. Greet you when you walk in the door and always thank you .

Ms. Tanya was very helpful and fun to talk to, she made running a common errand a great experience! I'm new to the area so its nice to know i've at least got a good hardware store to rely on, well worth the extra drive! read more

My favorite store to shop at. Employees are always cheerful and helpful. They are more than happy to help you locate items or load heavy things. read more

I ordered online and went to the store to pick up my purchase. Every time I walk into the store I am greeted and asked how they can help me. I've been shopping there since they opened and it's always a pleasure. There are 2 guys in particular that I look for when shopping. Doug and Patrick that have been there for forever and are both great. The store isn't the size of the big box ones but the personal service makes up for it. read more

This is what all hardware stores were like before the orange and blue megastores took over the world. They probably have what you need, but what's more important is how easy it is finding someone to help to find it. You might pay a little more at Ace for some items and little less for others, but as far as shopping experience goes, there's no comparison. Do your soul a favor and skip the big box next time and give these nice folks a try. read more

Super nice people. Patrick helped me with a small repair (a light-up Santa), and saved me a bunch of money. Wouldn't have gotten this kind of help at a big box store. Bravo personal Ace service! read more

Visited Crabapple Ace Hardware today since its close by. The price for the same model item was $10 higher than Midway Ace Hardware. Asked the owner if he could match the Midway price. He said "the price is the price". More about the manner in which he said it. Came across like he didn't need my business. Though farther away, I drove to Midway and made the purchase. Probably won't visit again soon because of him. read more

Ace would not replace a bad can of spray paint, suggesting i did not buy it there since i didn't bring a receipt. They lost a customer over a $6 can of "Ace" paint. I left $30 of goods on the counter, with the manager making a dismissive comment. Very short sighted business decision, since i have been buying there since moving to Roswell 3 years ago. Attitude is everything in retail, he had a poor one. read more

I've visited this store with mixed results. My most recent visits were during a bathroom renovation. An employee named Rob provided incredible assistance with a plumbing problem. He was patient and very knowledgeable. He found a way to help me when even the orange store couldn't. Later in the week my wife and I stopped to buy paint. Rob gave expert advice guiding us through the selections. He mixed our paint and even helped with great advice on the caulk and tools needed for great results. Here's kudos for a job extraordinarily done!! read more

Staff is very polite and helpful. Store while small has allot of items. This place saves allot of trips to big name hardware stores.

This reminds me of the store I went to as a kid with my father . A good family store.

I came here to return a can of aura paint which is there top paint that cost $70.00 but got denied because you have to return items where you bought it. That's cool I understand that part but the fact that one of the staff named herb returned my can back to me damaged is not acceptable I even told him as soon as he handed it over to me if the other ace hardware will accept the damage can and he said it was like that and no it wasn't I inspected the can before returning and it was in perfect condition and he's going to say it was like that??? After my father saw him beat on the can when he opened it to inspect the can??? Wow herb you sir are a Lier nice to know what type of lying staff ace hires never shopping at ace again read more

The employees were so helpful, especially a worker named AJ. He was very patient and respectful. He wore his mask the entire time and was incredibly knowledgeable. Helped me find exactly what I was looking for! read more

This location charges $19 to refill a standard propane tank. What's the point? I can take it to any grocery store within 100 yards of this Ace Hardware and trade out my empty propane tank for the same price. read more

Love this place and the folks. Always good tips, advice, and service. I highly recommend.

You know those commercials, "ace is the place for the helpful hardware folks?" It is so true! The employees at this store are so kind, helpful and proactive. I walked in and was immediately asked what I was looking for. They told me what aisle to go to and when I arrived, another ace employee was there waiting for me. I generally don't like to interact with people unless I really need help but I have to say, wow! What a cool experience. They may not have a giant warehouse store but what they lack in square footage, they make up for with top notch customer care. read more

This store has a friendly home-town feeling and a staff that is knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The store is stocked with many hard to find items and I have always had good luck seeking out exactly what I needed here. The owner is friendly and helpful. Perfect service. I walked in and was immediately greeted and asked what I needed. She let me know which aisle and a man helped me immediately there as well. After looking and trying every screw we still didn't find what I needed but I got the perfect recommendation to try somewhere else. Above and beyond service when they didn't even have to. I'm definitely shopping here again before anywhere else. read more

Great customer service!! Store associate was able to walk me directly to what I needed with my vague description! He was able to help me get the things needed for my project, as well as, saves me a few steps with his recommendation. read more

If only I could give this business 0 starts. Incredibly rude management. Incredibly rude. This is a shopping center. I went into YOUR store to buy something and walk into adjacent stores to run a few more errands. The owner/manager has the audacity to chase me down and tell me I am not allowed to park in HIS parking lot unless I am purchasing something. Hello you moron I was just in your store buying something. Never will I come back here again. I'm better off going to larger chain hardware stores. read more

My favorite neighborhood hardware store. Truly they have everything you need and great customer service to help you find the littlest items. So much nicer than going to the big box places with no help. read more

I love that I can always find someone to help me with my project...when I need it anyway (I'm pretty handy). Always have what I need.

Great customer service. Willing to help customers. Willing to go out of their way to help customers. Helped me a number of times when buying heavy rocks loading it up. Manager got back to me on price quotes. Things you typically don't see from your big box stores like Home Depot, or Lowe's happens here at Ace Hardware thanks to the hard workers. Good job guys, keep up the good work! Thanks read more

If you're tired of wandering around Home Depot trying to get some help from non-existent help on the floor, visit this Ace. I was there yesterday and even though I was only buying small knick knacks for a house I just moved into, the guy was VERY helpful and spent the time with me to get everything on my list. Home Depot....NO!! Ace?.....YES!! read more

One trip to this family owned Ace and you will never step foot in Big Orange again. Great service - yes, actual customer service - makes this place special. People there really try to help you. I have visited the Crabapple Ace Hardware several times since they opened, and I can tell you that the quality of the personnel is reflective of the quality of the store owner, Herb. The focus on customer experience being helpful and personal is why local stores like this are making a comeback over the big box stores. Today I came in to take advantage of the BOGO paint sale, and from the moment I walked in Rhiannon was all over it. She saw what I needed, explained the quality difference in the paint I was considering, matched my sample PERFECTLY, and did all of this with personality. I don't recommend places as a habit. I have to receive over the top customer service, and I want to say this is a store I will recommend. read more

the mgr/owner is very helpful .
