Horrible experience... Purchased 3 doors with installation in April from Home Depot (RF Installations installer). Install company, RF Installations, damaged doors on 1st install attempt, left the site without arranging to reinstall, didn't contact me to reschedule. I had to get HD project expediter involved to reschedule. 2nd install attempt - install company cancelled the same day as install scheduled. 3rd install attempt, doors and trim were damaged and the work crew ran over a can of great stuff spray foam which exploded and covered my driveway and landscaping with spray foam. Crew tried to use water to clean it which, of course, didn't work. They left without talking to me about it. Cured spray foam is now bonded to my driveway and is a huge mess. I have been dealing with this project since April. The issues were expedited to the Home Depot Project Support Team where I was getting good support from their expediter. I emailed him this evening about the latest fiasco and found out the entire Project Support dept no longer exists. Home Depot says call the local office. I know how that will go. No one in charge, and no one willing to take responsibility for making the contractor fix their mess. If anyone at Home Depot is reading this and would like to discuss, please respond. Home Depot is my go-to supply store. But they ruin their reputation by having third rate, mediocre contractors do the work. read more

They also couldn't/would't verify my vet status even though I have a card and it is in their system. So the cashier called customer service and then told me that CS was closed. I had an exceptional experience at Home Depot's Alpharetta Store #0149 on May 2, 2025, and I want to make sure the team -- especially Toby, Matt, Jim, and the other helpful associates -- gets the recognition they deserve. I came in with a complicated treadmill repair I'd been stuck on for months. Honestly, I expected to be pointed toward some hardware and sent on my way to figure it out myself. What I received instead was hands-on support, deep expertise, and genuine care that went far beyond what I could have imagined. As soon as I arrived, a team member kindly directed me to the correct aisle -- a small gesture, but one that immediately saved time and frustration. That's where I met Toby, who examined the treadmill, asked thoughtful questions, and said something I won't forget: "Don't worry -- we'll have this all sorted out before you leave." His calm confidence was a huge relief. Over the next two hours, Toby identified the right screws, washers, nuts, and tools -- and didn't just stop there. He got down on the floor, on hands and knees, working in tight, awkward spaces to get everything securely installed. When one stubborn screw wouldn't come out, he brought in Matt to hold the heavy treadmill while he carefully drilled it out. It was a true team effort, and they treated the project like it was their own. Get you Halloween and Christmas on!! Bought just tons of stuff here for Halloween and now Christmas too. In fact for Christmas I had to go to several HDs to get everything! Stuff goes so fast around here. The place was well set up but the shelves were not stocked after selling down. Fortunately I know where to look and I found quite a bit of what I was looking for in the overheads. Great deals and now after having the best yard at Halloween I'm going to rule at Christmas too! I purchased the most expensive carpet they carried because they told me the carpet was resistant to heavy wear, (2) is highly stain resistant and (3) came with a warranty to protect the company against issues. Wow. My wife and I just moved into a new house with a nice yard so I came here to buy everything needed (mower, weed eater, chainsaw, seeds, mulch, stone, pest control, and some bathroom fixtures). I also needed to rent some equipment. However, I have never been into a Home Depot full of so many rude and unresponsive people. The entire staff treated me like I was a burden or ignored me. I only needed help finding the specific grass seeds (which, no matter how many employees I tried to ask for help, never helped) and renting the equipment. The two guys at 10:45a on June 17th, 2021 at the rental department were so rude that I immediately left and ended up not renting a single thing and even put the mower and saw back. What's wrong with the staff here? I've never had such a bad experience at a store like this other than a WalMart (to which this experience felt comparable). I'm now going to drive to Lowe's or ACE and give them all of my business because I doubt they'd treat their customers like this. I think Arthur Blank would be disappointed. read more

Thousands of dollars spent between two appliances and no one seems to care once the appliances leave the store. Calls to my local home depot in Alpharetta, GA yielding little to no results for a broken refrigerator during the summer months in the southeastern part of the united states. We purchased this fridge four years ago and magically it stopped working. After two weeks of calling and trying to get some assistance, we finally got a technician out to the house to "fix the problem and told us they needed to order a part and would be back to replace it. A week later the person who was supposed to replace the part gave us the same speech "we need to order parts and put a rush on it". So i'm not sure how long it would've taken without the rush. Two weeks after the initial week wait, we finally get someone else sent out (this is the third time, third times a charm) and somehow he's missing everything he needs. The technician that arrived had no idea what was going on with our fridge. It's as if they sent the first person they could just to say that someone was on the issue instead of sending someone that was able to fix the issue. The first technician told us we needed to order parts. A week later the person who was supposed to install the fixed parts was clueless and told us we needed to order parts, again. Seems to be taken out of some sort of handbook, because no one is ordering anything and i'm being sent in circles. It was added insult that the rep had to contact LG for assistance. Are notes not made of all service requests? This system that is currently in place does not seem to be the best one. We have called and called to try to resolve this issue to the point where i'm exhausted from trying. Out of five times trying recently, there were two times were i got an answering machine with no call back after leaving a message. It's frustrating to spend thousands of dollars thinking you're going to be satisfied with your purchase only to be met with this type of customer service. It's 2017. There are dozens of options that we can choose for when deciding to make major purchases such as a fridge, stove, etc. It's sad to think that major chains are more about making money and less about doing what is right. A five year protection plan should not only mean that you will send someone to fix my item within the time frame, but that you will SEND SOMEONE TO FIX MY ITEM WIHTIN THAT TIME FRAME. We are beginning the fall in Georgia where temperatures are easily into the 90's still. Have you had to live your life without a fridge? A mini fridge does not allow my home to function not to mention the hundreds of dollars in food that has been thrown away because of this broken fridge that IS STILL ISN'T FIXED. I'm beginning to pay more attention to reviews that individuals post. After searching the rest of the reviews on the Facebook page, it seems that most people have had much of the same experience when it comes to customer service. THD is the classic way to go for any home repair. My visit was for an itty bitty switch for my ceiling fan. The service was small to none, but the product availability was not a problem. In-store service: While there are orange aprons walking around, I understand that the store is big and it's hard to find a team member that a) is nearby and b) can help with department-specific questions. After waiting for quite some time, I went to customer service where a nice gentleman called someone to meet me in the aisle. We probably should have coordinated for him to give me a name of the person meeting me, because I waited in the aisle until finally two men came that were clearly working on stocking some items. I asked if they could help me and they gave me about 10% of their attention to answer each of my questions, making no eye contact and acting as though they wanted no more questions. I proceeded to checkout to ask my remaining questions about the part I was buying. It's a big store and there are a variety of choices for each product! Checkout: There are a plethora of self checkouts which are well-designed and refreshing to see outside of a grocery store. Unfortunately, they were about the only option as there was only one regular checkout lane available which was not only difficult to point out, but also had a representative that was not fully committed to the station leaving it unusable for a great amount of time. At a store with large items, more representatives are necessary - the guy in front of me at self checkout couldn't figure out how to scan his very large box that he couldn't pick up. As such, the representative at the self checkout was unavailable to help me and then proceeded to go elsewhere after helping that customer, leaving me waiting for her return in order to be helped. It doesn't seem as though the service I received was an anomaly at this store. The team members were scattered around the store and not focused on customer service. It would be great for the managers to read the reviews here and work on better coordinating duties throughout the store so there are representatives available for actual customer service. read more

Rented a cargo van from here last minute to pick up a couch and had a wonderful experience. The van pick up was quick and convenient and the van had everything we needed, including a dolly. I only found two helpful people here and the employee I asked to saw down some of the rods I had seemed to resent me for it. He told me I could have done it myself if I wanted to, but I would think that would be against safety regulations. I'm surprised they haven't been fined for that or hit with a lawsuit. This review is regarding my experience with the kitchen remodeling service at Windward Home Depot location. Let me start out by stating that it was my absolute fault for not doing my due diligence when it comes to this type of big project. I should have shopped around but I didn't. I thought Home Depot would be a decent experience (not looking for great, just decent) since it's such a big brand name, right? WRONGGGG! Anyway, I'm not looking for anything for myself here. Damage has already been done. I'm just hoping this review will help someone out there to make an informed decision of whether to go with the Home Depot kitchen remodeling service. I know there are other people who had a great experience with them. The biggest issue: the counter top took 4 weeks to be made. And when it was time for the installation, the measurement was way off. So, they asked for another 2 weeks. I had to live 6 weeks without a kitchen top!!! Later I found out you actually can have the counter top measured and installed on the spot within a day. I usually have a good experience at this Home Depot, but today was different. When I tried to return a large mini fridge I had bought that did not fit into my space the service was awful. . I stood in line at customer service and explained that I was not able to get it out of my car because it was too heavy and was told someone would come out and help me with it. A very nice employee got the heavy cooler out and put it in a cart. We walked inside the doors where the customer service cashier was and she said to me I needed to push it myself up back around to customer service and get back in line. I said I can't push this it's really heavy and why do I have to get back in line? They both ignored me and walked away. I waited in line again after pushing the very heavy cooler to the line. I was very disappointed in the customer service not to mention it hurt my back pushing this heavy cooler around Home Depot. read more

This is one of the larger "flagship" Home Depots in the area, so the selection is going to be a little greater than some of the area surrounding. While the selection is a lot greater, it seems to me that help is more difficult to find, I often find myself going to track people down I need to talk to or get help with things. I have to go with a four star here though because ultimately, it's more important to me to have the selection than the words of advice. If you need to go to a home improvement store for discussions on how-to's, I would look to a different store. read more

Of course I realized I took the bait, Hook, line and sinker when I dropped $150 on Christmas decorations, but they had a wonderful Christmas department at the front of the store. I roamed the appliance department for 10 minutes looking for help but there was no sales associate to be found even though the store was not busy. I decided to just leave and on the way out I said to the customer service desk that I there to buy a dishwasher and couldn't find any help. His answer was sorry about that. Feedback for The Home Depot on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta , Georgia. I entered the store this afternoon with a return. I stood at the returns counter for more than 5 with no eye contact from a single Home Depot employee. There was one woman helping someone off to the side and it was unclear to me or the people now stacking up behind me if she was the person handling the returns counter. There were 3-4 others there within absolute eye shot of those of us waiting but nobody looked our way. After some time I turned to the gentleman behind me and I said "I don't know if there's anybody working returns. I've been sitting here for a while. This clearly got the attention of someone as the woman snapped at me "Sir I see you there! This woman was before you! I will get to you." I responded: " Thank you for acknowledging that I am here. I appreciate that" She then called for one of the many standing around to come over to help me. I'm a grown man - I have been in service my whole life - advice for store management is get whoever it was that was working "Returns" at 12:15 today some training or you're risking a lot. She was awful. I'd give you a name but she never faced me so I couldn't see it. Think I'll spend my next home purchase at Lowes down the street. I made a purchase during the visit and my cashier (Jane) was exceptional. Friendly and conversant. Check your staff out Home Depot. Price is one thing but Customer Service really does matter. read more

I never thought I'd be reviewing a Home Depot. I came here to pick up a piece of furniture I'd ordered online. It turned out to be much larger than I anticipated, and the man at the front desk got the whole thing out to our car and into our trunk. As we tried to start our car to leave, we realized our battery was dead. Another awesome Home Depot employee came out and got our car started for us. Ordered a fridge to be delivered on 12/20/2018 for one of my tenant. Nothing delivered - I called to follow-up on 12/21/2018 at 1:00 PM. Spoke to Rice-Appliance Specialist - could not give me an answer transfers me to Bryson - to reach out to the delivery team. He came back with nothing - told me that it is the store in Alpharetta the money went to -transfer me to an extension for the Alpharetta store. - Spoke to David in the Appliance department - I really want the Appliance Manager but he was not there so this David looked everything up in the system told me that the order is in the system but did not get transmitted - I should talk with the Tara Ext. 468 Operation Logistic person. I left an urgent message on her VM. She called me back with a hogwash story that the delivery truck broken down yesterday and the order cannot be delivered until 12/26/2018. I asked why the orders on the truck for de3livery on 12.20/2018 not transferred to another truck and got delivered. She was very rude and wou8ld not bend. The only thing I can promise you is that we will deliver the fridge on 12/26/2018 - no remorse of what happened and what the person on the other line is going true. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Cancel the order - place an order through LOWS to the rescue and they will deliver tomorrow. Thank you LOWES. I will never order another appliance from Home Depot - same on Home Depot. Shame on the Operation Logistic person Tara! She should not be in this job - not customer service focus. My review -1 Note: another thing - they told me that GE contract out all their deliveries - has nothing to do with Home Depot. The staff is amazingly courteous at this location. It's always easy to find items and checkout stuff. Parking is ample. Checking in and out is generally fast if you know what you are looking for. Returns are also easy. Just sometimes, the wait for returns could be long. Otherwise really good. read more

Terrible customer service. They only have self check-out so if you have things that you need help with, you have to go wait in line at customer service. I had 15+ moving boxes and additional supplies in my cart. At checkout, a gentleman told me that I could wait for customer service and they could help me bundle the boxes and add tape handles to make it easier for me to carry all of them (I have also received this service at other locations). After waiting in line for some time, the customer service rep just stared at me when I asked if they could bundle the boxes and refused to do it saying that it wasn't 'possible.' If you are in need of a large amount of moving supplies, this is NOT the place to go. read more

I bought my first home in 1992 and discovered The Home Depot. Since then, I've shopped at competitors' locations but never find the selection, advice or service to be as good as HD. The Alpharetta location is a great example of a location that delivers on all three points: 1) Selection - spring planting time is here and within two days I visited both Lowes and this HD. The selection at HD was much larger and the plants looked healthier. We found the herbs and annuals we wanted quickly, then spent time just browsing and gaining inspiration. 2) Service - the garden area at HD was well staffed, we were approached and asked if we needed assistance several times and the registers were quick (unlike my experience at the competitor where, on a busy weekend day, there was only one open register in the garden section.) 3) Advice - I've talked to knowledgeable pros at this location regarding everything from gardening to paint to electrical. I also appreciate HD's commitment to helping customers become proficient DIY'ers by offering classes as well as advice. We've used this HD for purchase and installation of storm doors/windows on our last home and have been happy with the quality of work as well as the scheduling process. The store has a good layout with ample space devoted to each section, With both staffed and self checkout options, there's seldom a long wait. IMHO, the only drawbacks for this location are access and parking. ACCESS: there is a single main entrance to this HD on busy Windward parkway and because of the volume of customers, cars can stack up trying to get out of the parking lot (experienced customers know that there are entrance/exit options at the far right and left sides of the HD lot...the shopping areas on either side of HD are connected to it, so you can wriggle through their lots to get out). PARKING: this location has been here a while so it's likely that corporate didn't anticipate the growth of the Alpharetta area...and this means a parking lot that's very, very busy. If you pop in on a weekend, your best bets will be to head to the far right or left of the lot. If you're the kind of person that just HAS to park close to the door, be prepared to circle for a while. The Home Depot will always be my go-to store. I put HD on the pro level...if your focus is to DO actual stuff around your home, then HD is the place to be. The competition doesn't cater to do-ers - they seem to focus more on the customers who are browsing for decor. read more

On the Northside of Atlanta OTP, comparing Home Depot to Lowes is a lot like Wal-Mart to Target. Home Depot does very well at contractor grade, get it done, do it yourself brands and materials. Lowes offers far more designer options with more of a focus on the consumer while still accommodating the contractor. This location, however, is right on par with Lowes unlike many of the other HD's around town. Different in concept, has a much larger design center and caters to the needs of the individual consumer as much as the contractor. I've also found prices here to be less expensive than the counterparts at Lowes so win win. read more

The only place I ever have an issue is the paint department...I don't know if they are just busy or what, but I have felt the service is lacking there. They have great pumpkins for super cheap during Halloween, and it was the only place I could find decent sized bales of hay for decorating outside around our house. read more

This is one of the better Home Depots around. They staff knowledgeable people who are friendly. When you can't find an expert, they will call them on their walkie-talkie and get one there fast. I also happen to like their classes. If you go online or get their app, you can register for the "Do-It-Yourself" classes which are free. There, you can ask all the questions you want and build a rapport with them. When it comes down to it, this is the place where you ask any question you need answered (no matter how stupid you think it is). If you have a smart phone, make sure to take pictures of whatever you are trying to fix or build so you can show it to them. The suggestions are excellent. read more

I spend too much and too much money here...yah for them, bad for me. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail here, IT'S A HOME DEPOT so you know what you're getting. However, there are a few differences at this location. 1. Getting to the parking lot is awkward from Windward...you can right or left after heading toward the HD but have to go around to get into the parking area. The intersection there is just weird. Not a big deal but it can be annoying when there is a lot of traffic. 2. The layout is wonky. It's not the traditional layout so don't go in thinking that you know where something is. Couple this with the small signs and minimal amount of employees walking around and you can do circles for quite a bit before finding your spot. Find someone up front and ask them before you get lost. 3. The Garden Center is right outside of the front entrance, I do like that! I makes shopping there easy and you are able to see stuff when walking right up. 4. Not sure if they have this at other sites, but they sometimes have a hotdog cart sitting up by the exit that gives out free hotdogs. Not bad, HD, not bad. So, there it is....differences for better and for worse. I prefer my 'home' store in Tucker but this one does in a pinch when I'm close to work. read more
