remodeled my kitchen and wanted to go with the best appliances I could afford. I visited the Subzero showroom in Alpharetta and selected a refrigerator, range and vent hood. The representative there referred me to me to a contact at Sewell Appliances in Sandy Springs to make the purchases. I was shown nothing but patience and kindness until I purchased over 35k in appliances. That's where the exceptional customer service ended. The representative that I worked with never sent the specs for the items I purchased and definitely never pointed out the different nuances that had to be accounted for with the items I purchased. For example the plug for the refrigerator had to be at the top right hand corner of the wall to successfully install. Nevertheless, on the day of delivery, the young men walked in and started pointing out a host of items that had to be corrected before installing. They told me this happens all the time and that I was the third unsuccessful installation for them that day. I'm not surprised when no one has taken the time to detail these items to the consumer. We made the adjustments and rescheduled installation. The second pair of Sewell workers came and installed everything and just packed up and left while I was still in my bedroom. I came out to find that plastic was still covering the entire front of the refrigerator . I turned on the propane range and none of the burners worked so that told me they didn't even see if the appliances were working. I'm thoroughly disappointed and shocked with the subpar customer service receptor this company and will never purchase subzero, wolf or coven products from them again. read more

I did not buy my new set from them because I was able to purchase them online for a lesser price. However I wish I had purchased from Sewell because by the time I paid for shipping and haul away which were extra I wound up saving less than I expected ALSO the delivery company did not offer set up either which meant I had to wait until my so. and his buddy could come over to stack the dryer. We had spent over $30,000 for new appliances for a new build and had issues with delivery, damaged goods, failure to communicate, etc. We decided 4 years later (Covid no longer an excuse) we'd give them another shot because they had the high end product we wanted. Same experience, sales guy was good, he helped us make a decision on an icemaker that would fit our needs. Icemaker was delivered, but did not work due to a faulty pump. They refused to replace the icemaker, would only agree to repair it. Their reasoning was they could not sell a damaged product, even though that's what they sold us a damaged product!! We pushed for them to do the right thing and give us a new icemaker, but they would not budge. We should have learned our lesson the first time around. Buyer beware. Yesterday, April 22, 2024 I went to Sewell Appliance to buy a new dishwasher. I have been purchasing appliances from Sewell since 1991. I have never been disappointed in all of these 33 years. Yesterday was the same, I met Alexandra and she showed me many different dishwashers. I finally settled on a Cove because the cycle panel lit up as my husband eye sight is diminishing. Alex checked with Walter and his schedule was open the next day, Tuesday, April 23 in the afternoon. We scheduled the appointment and Walter and Norman came on time and worked efficiently together to install the new Cove dishwasher. Walter pointed out the features of the Cove and showed me how to use them. The installation went smoothly and the two gentlemen could not have been more skilled at their job and helpful to me, the homeowner. Thank you, Alex, Walter and Norman....For a Job Well Done!!! Poor customer service! Didn't notify customer that they were closed for inventory and Installer went and couldn't get appliances. He lost time and money because couldn't do job. And customer also lost time because they rescheduled to free up their day thinking installation would be done. Sewell Appliance said after customer complained,, to pick up appliance in 2 days and they would be open and the appliances would be there! Installer went back that morning like Sewell said, BUT when installer got there, they had given away the appliance and an extra one they had in their warehouse that morning!!! Unbelievable, this shows a lack of professionalism and trying to do what's right. It was all their fault and NOT the customer's or Installer. Installer and customer couldn't have job completed before Thanksgiving because of THEIR ERROR, twice!! Found Sewell appliances online when I googled high end appliances. Decide to check the Yelp reviews and although the reviews were atrocious I visited anyway hoping for a better experience. Well, let me say the low star rating has been well deserved. The only positive part of my visit was the receptionist as you enter. She was pleasant and helpful. The store itself has a poor layout that doesn't flow and the lack of variety for such a large showroom is an example of lazy planning. I've purchased appliances at some pretty impressive appliance stores in the past and this is not even in the league of what a high end appliance showroom should exemplify. All of which could be overlooked. What cannot be overlooked is the lack luster poor customer service from the sales person. Almost zero effort to provide information (much of which was incorrect) and it was clear she wasn't interested in helping. I must have interrupted her nap so she had to actually get up and work. Never offering to show me anything, asked no questions, didn't even crack a fake smile. The vibe in this store left me with a very unpleasant feeling & lackluster experience, I would never return. There seemed to be 20 employees and 3 customers. All the workers were in their cubbies/offices and certainly couldn't be bothered. Purchased a Asko Logic washer and dryer combo to the tune of $4K. Spent more than what I personally wanted to spend. Delivered on 11/18 damaged. Arrived unboxed and wrapped. Could they not see that they sent me damaged appliances. It was news to the sales person that it came this way. IS THIS A SCAM WITH SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES? I have heard that businesses are shipping damaged goods to buy them time to get new ones. THAT IS BEYOND UNETHICAL. Really??? When I ask for some compensation for my trouble, I get NOTHING. I have had to empty my Barbie sized pantry and laundry room twice for this and one more time for the repair person. We've used Sewell for 3 major appliance purchases within the last 13 years spending well over $25,000. The first two times were fine, but this last time has been a miserable experience, and it's not over yet. Here are the highlights: 1. We had a major water incident in our townhouse, and we had to move out for 5 months. We went to Sewell in June to look at appliances. We didn't have an appointment, but we were able to get someone to help us anyway, and it was a pleasant enough experience. We picked out our appliances, and once the quote was agreed upon, we paid in full for them to be ordered 2. Fast forward to late October as we're moving back in, and the microwave has a ding in it, the refrigerator can't be installed due to a water line issue, and the blower above the stove doesn't fit. The installers were not especially helpful, and we got in touch with the sales person we dealt with. He said he would order a new microwave to replace the dented one, and we kept checking back - he never got back to us, and we could only get him if he answered his phone - he didn't return messages or emails. We finally proposed that we keep the dented microwave if he would take $100 off, and he agreed. In the meantime, we were pushing for a solution on the blower, and after pushing quite a bit, he did find one that was a little more expensive, and since there was a little cosmetic work that needed to be done, Sewell couldn't install it. He recommended an installer that came out after we picked up the blower from Sewell. He did the installation, but he said the Sewell installers definitely could have done it. Also, this installer was a lot more expensive. 3.We were going back and forth with the sales rep about getting the credit for the microwave, and the blower installation, and we never heard back. Eventually someone different answered the phone and said that the guy we had been dealing with left the company, and I had to explain all over again, and he said he would work on it. We didn't hear back for over 2 weeks, so I called again and left a message saying I would have to go to small claims court if it wasn't resolved. We finally reconnected, and he said he would send a check, as too much time had passed to credit my credit card. It's February, I still don't have the check, and I'm not sure if we'll ever see it. Whenever I called the main Sewell number, and I asked to speak to someone other than our salesperson, I was told I had to speak to him. There are two things I don't talk about with strangers- religion and politics. It's just too messy. So, when I visited Sewell Appliances and saw a saleswoman sitting at her desk (which is in the middle of their showroom) with a Trump 2020 hat sitting very prominently at the top of the desk- it turned me off. Why? Because while I think everyone, as individuals, should be able to proudly profess their political views- I don't necessarily want to be confronted with a store's political views while shopping. It's hard enough deciding between Wolf or Thermador. I shouldn't also have to grapple with choosing MAGA or Miele. My recommendation to Sewell, and any other store, that's trying to earn sales- leave the politics out of it. Spending money on high end appliances should be an enjoyable experience- I shouldn't be feeling sad or conflicted when deciding whether to spend money. Other than that, their showroom (including their outdoor kitchen area) is beautiful. This is one of the few stores in the metro that has a large selection of Jenn-Air appliances. I also saw a Cornue, lots of Dacor, and of course lots of Wolf and Thermador products. The salesman that helped my husband and I was very knowledgeable (except on the Jenn Air ranges- he says they were new to this store and that he hasn't gotten that familiar with them). A GREAT PLACE TO START! I thought the other guys were nice until I walked into this business. The first thing that we encounter as we enter the front door is a sign letting us know that we can stop at the front desk if we need to talk to a sales rep or shop at our leisure if we prefer. You are also advised to make a weekday appointment if you need a complete consultation. I love signage because I appreciate knowing the process and I am the type of customer that likes to be ignored for at least 20 minutes. I need time to walk around, take it in and formulate some questions. So let's talk about what set these guys apart from the other guys, (because I like details and I notice everything!). When you walk into the other place, you will see a woman at a desk but Sewell's had an interesting work space along their main aisle where they could easily see customers and customers could walk over and ask questions. There would be no need to go "looking" for assistance, it was right there. The other guys had large bowls of candy available but these guys had fresh baked cookies, (oatmeal and chocolate chip), that were delicious. Cookies trump candy all day! These guys actually had prices posted on many of their appliances which I appreciated. I also feel like they had a larger selection that also include more practical options. I love the high-end appliances but they are like purchasing a piece of technology where you have to consider the cost of repairs and cost and availability of parts. Do your research. Also, I think that the more unnecessary (wi-fi), bells and whistles you have, the more likely something is to break and require a costly repair. About 15 minutes into our visit, we were approached by Butch who was right on time and able to answer our questions. As he walked away, I realized that I had not gotten his business card. No problem because they had all of their employees' business cards displayed on one of their tables, so I grabbed one. This was a good move because I always like to get a business card to follow up with my "point of contact" if necessary. Visiting Sewell's was a good move because we were able to further narrow our options and better focus our search. Visiting the showroom is just a first step so if you go down that road remember to check their reviews for any service or delivery issues bcause you don't want a problem down the road. A lot of things can be reasonably blamed on and explained by COVID. Supply chains have been massively disrupted and I understand and appreciate that. Appliances, like many sold by Sewell, have been impossible to have delivered in less than 6 months. That puts a lot of pressure of companies like Sewell to up their customer service and communication - internal and external - however Sewell massively fails and disappoints in this regard. We placed an order for $38,000 worth of appliances the first week of December 2020 and made a down payment of slightly more than 50% of the order which was expected to be delivered in early February 2021. In summary, the planned delivery date has changed roughly 10 times since and now, August 20, 2021, our order is finally going to be complete and installed. Short-fall #1 - at no point has anyone (salesperson, etc.) from Sewell EVER proactively contacted us to say that the delivery date has slipped. This has taken 50+ emails, always initiated by me, and a large number of calls asking for an update. Short-fall #2 - Sewell is unable to get timely updates to delivery dates. With each contact - at or around the expected delivery dates - it has taken days to get a revised delivery date. Short-fall #3 - Sewell does not have a clear view of their inventory. We received a call saying that our refrigerator and freezer (separate units) were in and ready for delivery. The delivery team shows up with only the refrigerator which has been sitting in my garage for 3 months now waiting for the freezer to be delivered. They thought they had received it and had not. Short-fall #4 - Sewell did not confirm the completeness of the order. The freezer finally came in - 2 weeks ago - and the installation team realized that the panels (doors) were missing. Now the both units are sitting in the garage waiting for the panels to be delivered. We are now emptying our existing refrigerator/freezer for the third time as we anticipate installation. Short-fall #5 - Sewell did not honor the commercial agreement. We were to pay 50% down and 50% upon completion of delivery. We were made to pay the full amount for the panels (~$1,500) 2 weeks ago and the salesperson charged our credit card for the balance of the order at the same time even though the panels were back ordered. Short-fall #6 - Sewell does not understand the promotions associated with the appliances they sell. When we purchased the appliances, we were told that the package we purchased came with the option of extending the warranties from 1 to 3 years OR we could receive $1000 cash back. We opted for the cash back and Sewell has not yet been able to get/provide the credit/refund. We also learned that we were entitled to pick one of 3 accessories from Wolf resulting from our range purchase. Sewell knows nothing about this and even after being told about this, has done nothing to help obtain an accessory. Lastly, I have contacted the General Manager, Andy Hearst, who you would think would take these things seriously and even intimated to me that he was. I called Andy last week (Thursday) and told him the history and then pushed the point that they have now charged me for the balance of the order which they have yet to deliver and cannot even commit to a delivery date. Andy called me back Thursday afternoon saying that their systems were down and that he would call me back once they came back online. Seems one week later that they are still down as I have not received a call back from Andy. I have called Andy back twice and he is not answering or returning my calls. My advice... if Sewell has the product in stock and prove it and commit to a short-term delivery/install, they seem to be able to handle it. Their delivery guys are quite good! If you are ordering a product that is not in stock, go elsewhere or be prepared to be disappointed. read more

Decided to try high end Speed Queen machines at Sewell. $3000 vs $1700 LG from Lowe's - but I'm willing to pay for quality & service. I'd bought a dishwasher from Sewell and been impressed by service and after care. This time at Sewell it was hard to find a salesperson, admittedly late December before Xmas. Found someone, they took our order after showing us the goods. Later called to say they didn't have stock in warehouse and no way to check with supplier till Wednesday 27th due to holidays but would call me back Wednesday. I called them back today - but no sales staff available, left messages, called back - no luck. Guy on telephone quick to answer the phone but rude and short with me. 'We only have three sales people, we normally have eight - what am I supposed to do'. You Sir are supposed to take down my details and perhaps call your supplier yourself. We are without a washer dryer over the holidays, I've given you my credit card details to order the goods for me, I deserve to know when I'll be getting them. If you gonna charge about $200 more per appliance for exactly what they have elsewhere, ALL you have is your service. On this occasion Sewell dropped the ball. One star for service over the holidays. If you need expert repair on breads like Kitchen Aid, there is no better service repair team and company in the North Fulton and Sandy Springs area of Georgia than Sewell Appliance. The company recently took my call for large but in Kitchen Aid refrigerator that was not cooling fully, sent an expert to the house, he properly diagnosed the issue and to my surprise and amazement, had the part to repair the issue in his truck, and repaired the unit. I was expecting the company to schedule someone next week vs next day and to tell me to either wait for weeks or, worst case, replace a mid to higher end refrigerator that would cost many thousands of dollars. We purchased several thousand dollars worth of appliances from this company for our kitchen renovation. Unfortunately, our items were delayed due to the industry struggling to meet supply and demand due to COVID-19. Once our fridge was delivered, the filter was not available so we patiently waited for that to arrive. We paid over $700.00 for installation fees. The filter was merely dropped off at my house and not installed. The installation of the filter is part of the "installation". After emailing Dyllan, our sales rep, I received a call scheduling the filter installation between 8-12. I missed an entire day of work and no one showed up. I didn't receive a call back to reschedule and now multiple emails to Dyllan on this issue have gone unanswered. This is not the way to do business and we are highly disappointed in this company's treatment. I hope to get resolution of this soon, or I will be contesting the installation charge for our fridge with our merchant for non-compliance of the agreement (payment for installation). read more

Great showroom and friendly sales staff...BUT I had reservations of the knowledge and honesty of the salesman who helped us. It's a fail proof strategy to up sell your best, most expensive refrigerator but it may not be the right one for every customer. Just because designers use it isn't a valid reason enough for me. We inquired about another brand because we liked the mechanics of that appliance better but after his research the salesman informed us that it's not available in the model we want. We left the premises feeling dubious, so we visited a competitor a few days later and found that the model we wanted was indeed available. The sales staff was great, but the execution - FLAWED. After spending upwards of $10,000 on a new subzero fridge/freezer two years ago, I embarked on a kitchen renovation this year. My contractor informed me the subzero should have a tip bracket. The city inspector also informed me it should have tip bracket when he looked at the new electrical lines in the kitchen. The subzero wine fridge installer said yesterday it should have a tip bracket and urged me to call Sewell. I called Sewell and they are sending someone to "look at it". How about being thankful that it didn't tip on my 8 year old or myself. So - if you have Sewell install your new appliance - be WARY that they may not complete it properly. A great place to BUY! We went with Sewell now 15 years ago when building our new home and bought all of our kitchen appliances through them (we ended up choosing Subzero for our refrigerator and wine storage, Wolf for our range, Thermador for our double ovens, and Bosch for our dishwasher). As many have noted, the sales experience was great, but what has truly set them apart and made us a customer for life is how they've treated us for repairs. After 8-10 years, our dishwasher had an issue, and rather than pay for repairs for what we read online was an "old unit", we thought we'd buy a new one. When we went back to Sewell and spoke with the sales rep, he felt strongly that it wasn't old enough to be replaced, convinced us to set up a repair appointment, and the issue was easily (and cheaply resolved) by the Sewell repairman. We did finally decide to upgrade to a new Bosch dishwasher a few years later (which was great, as the technology has advanced since then and is even better), but last evening, it gave an error code E24, which per the manual, "requires a technician to repair." I called Sewell this morning and spoke with Tom Lambert (who incidentally, has been with Sewell for over 30 years!), to see if they could come and repair it. Although Tom said they were still doing repairs (even during the COVID19 lockdown), he suggested that I first try resetting the dishwasher's computer by turning off the circuit breaker to the unit for 5 minutes. If that didn't work, Tom said to call back and he could send someone out tomorrow. I did as he suggested, and the unit is back working! I called Tom back to thank him, and his response is "that's how repair work should be - if I can help you fix it over the phone, why would I send a repairman over and charge you?" He called on 7/7/18 to state that it was indeed not in stock as he first stated and it would deliver 7/17 or 7/18 and that they would contact my contractor for delivery. Lo and behold on 7/16 they call my contractor and say it will be 7/27 or 7/28. They called on 7/28 and said now it will be another 7 days. I have already paid in full and have been told multiple times that they can't meet the delivery. So know the construction of my kitchen waits for Sewell to deliver the item I ordered and paid for over a month ago. I can't get them to even have the courtesy to call me back. I am still waiting for them to resolve this issue. read more
