Our washer had broken down a few days before Christmas and we were looking at replacing it. Our home warranty gave us a gift card to use for it and we looked online to see when we could get one delivered - several weeks away. We went in the store and picked out one we liked and explained the situation. The staff here went above and beyond, even knowing that we would not be getting one there since we lived in Alabama. They found one in the system that could be delivered to our location within 3 days - instead of the 3-4 weeks that the online system quoted. On Friday evening, I was simply browsing while waiting in line at a restaurant, just take a walk in the store. A store associate came up to me and verbally offense me, accusing me of being from a certain company and coming in to look at products without communicating with them. First I could not find anyone... literally anyone in any of the garden area to help. I couldn't find the hoses in the isles and I was wanting to know if they carried Dewalt yard tools. I stumbled on the hoses in the outdoor area... not really much of a selection... either cheap or expensive as heck! I got my hose... spent more then I wanted too... and my hose real... spent a lot more then I wanted too... and left. I will NEVER SPEND ANOTHER PENNY AT LOWE'S! I purchased a $35 dollar toilet tank repair kit in June. Unfortunately, I had to go up north to take care of my mother following an accident and did not return until the last week of July. My handyman was not able to look at the leaking toilet until the last week of September. When he did, he cracked the tank removing the handle, and I had to get a replacement tank which was over $100 and purchased from Lowe's. When I attempted to return the $35 " repair kit this week, still in the ORIGINAL PACKAGING AND WITH MY RECEIPT, they said they could not take it because it was over 90 days, period. No store credit, nothing! I couldn't believe it! They said, "We have been scammed too often." I called and spoke with Bill, a manager at the Windward location, who said that I should talk to another manager, James, who could "over-ride" the return. I visited the Windward Lowe's and spoke with James, who just abruptly said, "I'm sorry, that's our policy." I have lived in Alpharetta since 2001 and spent MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS at this exact store! Appliances, gardening supplies, storage containers, hardware, paint, lights, curtains, curtain rods, rugs, cleaning supplies, grills, outdoor furniture, sheds, holiday decor...the items are too great for me to even list! When I say that I will NEVER AGAIN EVEN GO INTO ANY LOWE'S HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE, I mean it! I saw an under counter refrigerator on sale that I wanted. The associate behind the register with the large "we install" sign told me they did not install the unit. I pointed out the sign and he said he did not know what to charge for the installation. He called someone and then pronounced it was $79. I asked whether it included hauling the old appliance away and was told it did not. Another associate had told me that they bought a refrigerator there and paid $70 to have it delivered, installed, and the old one hauled away. I asked why they couldn't do it for the same price (or even $79) for the smaller appliance. James (a manager) explained that the full size refrigerators come from different locations ...(yada yada). Saw they had charged be twice.... yes, two charges for same item. Went back to request credit. None given, they need to "research." Next day, a deliver truck shows up with another freezer, which I declined. Very poor service in the paint department. They had remodeled and moved everything around since the last time we came in for paint three weeks ago. Employee first ignored us when I tried asking question. When I finally got her attention and she stopped staring at her phone, she seemed dismayed when I asked her to show us where they had moved the paint that we needed for outdoor stucco. It took longer than usual for her to mix the color, and she allowed other customers to interrupt when she was supposed to be serving us. This place is horrible. I bought an oven from them and was assured it was in stock and would be. They make you have someone to come out and measure the wall opening before they will install it $40 even though I was getting the exact same oven and had measured myself. After measuring the appliance guy was supposed to set up installation time. Well he forgot to. I came in one week after the measurements and was told he wasn't there and he needed to be the one to set it up. Two weeks after and still nothing so I went back in. He said he forgot and sent them in. This was two and a half week until thanksgivings and the installation was slammed. So now I had a date for Dec.5th only to be called and told they somehow dont have the oven I bought 4 weeks earlier and they had one in a warehouse but I needed to rush over and get refunded and buy another. I did and then waited 4 hours for them to deliver that a couple of days later, only to have to call all around trying to find out where it was. Finally the warehouse said they had none. It took me 4 trips to the store and two hours on the phone to get all my money refunded. It feels like they are running a shell game and skimming money off the top in refunds. I'm still waiting on Doug the manager to call me back after promising me he was looking into it and would call me by the end of the day. That was last week. read more

My 13 year old washing machine had been going out, so in August I went to the Canton Lowes to start looking for a new one. The employee there mentioned that they were probably going to have a big sale for Labor Day and that if I could hold out, I would save some money. He was right! My husband and I purchased a new washer and dryer set (but had to go online to order it from neighboring stores due to lack of inventory), set up delivery, and went home to wait. Several weeks later, I get delivery confirmation the night before they were scheduled to be delivered, only to receive a follow up email regarding "my change request" and a new delivery date a month later! I was pretty angry and frustrated, I hadn't requested a change. But I called and found out that there was a supply issue and it was unavoidable. I rescheduled a family trip to the Great Smoky Mountains in order to be home for the rescheduled delivery.... and it happened again. I got a confirmation of "we will be there tomorrow at XYZ time...." only to be told "here's your new delivery date" (this time it was set for January of next year! For a washer I ordered in early September!). To say we were furious was an understatement. We had rescheduled camping reservations (that need to be made 6 months in advance) in order to be home for the delivery. I called the Alpharetta Lowes (this was the store the set was set to be delivered from, even though we had ordered online while standing in the Canton store). I explained everything to Patrick in Customer service and he was incredibly understanding. (I tried to remain calm, shooting the messenger wouldn't do me any good). He put me through to a gentleman named Brent in Appliances. Brent went WELL above and beyond in order to not only find out what happened and why our delivery was taking so long (glitch in how the store counts items available, it counts a non-functioning display model as having one in stock even though they were severely backordered), he found us a better model that could be delivered right away. He and I played phone tag about 10 times as he got our order set up, scheduled delivery, planning for removal of our old set, and even helped me get refunded the Lowes gift card I had used to pay for part of the set. (I did have to pay for the new set, so the gift card needed to be refunded and he made sure it was all taken care of). I tried to fill out the survey once my new set was delivered, but the Lowes survey only allows a few days before it closes, so I wanted to write a review and say that the customer service I received from this store was well above and beyond my expectations. I hope that store managers see this and appreciate that their employees really took the time to help a customer find a happy ending to a frustrating situation. The care and attention Brent provided, as well as his dedication to finding a solution to the problem was incredible. THANK YOU!!!! read more

This has got to be the worst Lowe's store in the state of Georgia. I bought a $1500 refrigerator on October 4, it was supposed to be delivered between the hours of 12 and 4 PM that following Sunday. I receive no notification at all about the delivery still arriving I had to reach out to the store on Sunday myself to confirm, they said I was on the schedule But 4 o'clock came and went and still no refrigerator. I reached out to the store yet again and they said they're not sure what's going on I'm on the schedule but here is the delivery service number to see if they can provide clarity. They use a third-party delivery service called spirit and I reached out to them and they said they were at stop 11 and I was the last stop. Once 7 PM came and went I reached out to spirit to see what was going on and they couldn't reach the driver nor the driver supervisor so they just basically said we've done all we can at this point call tomorrow. I called spirit yesterday morning 10/11 and spoke with some different dispatcher and they basically said they don't know what's going on call the lowes store. I called the Lowe's store and spoke with the assistant manager named Claudia and she seemingly created a solution where she spoke with the local District supervisor at spirit and was able to get the refrigerator delivered on the first stop today Tuesday 10/12. Here we are at 11 AM I received no word about the delivery and when I reached out to Loews to speak with Claudia as she instructed because she was the opening manager today she's not accepting phone calls because she's doing "inventory". I spoke with another manager and he said that the refrigerator was there with no notes so he didn't know what he could do about my situation so I just asked for a refund. I wasted two sick days, time & energy. Lowes will never get another dollar from me I hope no one shops there. read more

Was here last Wednesday after shopping at Home Depot. The selection and in stock merchandise in Lowe's stores and this one, is so much more robust and expansive than that of Home Depot. Once we did finally get some help, they were wonderful, but those buttons on the aisles to call for service help are useless. I hit the button on three aisles, I heard the call on the overhead speakers. No one ever showed. Not a lot of staff visible either. I did track someone down to pull my merchandise and load it, and all was well with the world. I would definitely choose Lowe's over Home Depot for my future home maintenance needs. read more

Never seem to have the shelves stocked with what I need and when I ask a representative they turn it to the next person or blow me off. This Lowe's is terrible. If I could give them zero stars I would. We bought a refrigerator and washer and dryer and had a TERRIBLE experience! When they showed up to deliver the appliances the dryer was damaged, then when they tried to bring the refrigerator into the house and up the stairs they dropped it on our brand new wood floors and on top of that the doors were not taped shut and they opened halfway up and damaged the walls. The store then never followed up on delivering a new dryer then we I called and got a manger on the third call he said he woulD check into it and call me back and never did. It was a horrible experience from start to finish and they have still have done nothing to get my floors and walls fixed. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!! read more

I'll just say that my experience today at this Lowe's store has made me a customer for life. I'll never spend another dollar at Home Depot. In short, my carburetor failed me again on my push mower, so I set out to Lowe's to find a new one. I've already spent enough money repairing this mower, that it was probably the lawn gods telling me that I needed to upgrade. Well, Lowe's has a lot of options from 22" 160cc engines to battery operated and I didn't know where to start. I didn't know what option was best for me. That's where Lance stepped in and helped me find the best mower for my needs and even offered me a deal on a floor model. The reviews about terrible delivery and customer service are absolutely 100% accurate although according to Lowes the issue is the delivery company they work with not the system at Lowes. If a delivery has been set up for a certain day and confimed not once but twice by both Lowes and the delivery company, it is completely ridiculous that "your shipment - and apparently 6 others according to the manager Devon- were left off the manifest". Maybe Lowes should find another delivery company or maybe they should actually provide the service they have commited to providing. Also when you are speaking with the customer that you have inconvenienced, you probably don't want to make them pull out their computer to give their order number that you should have had up before making the call. read more

They are discontinuing the model that hubs wants but hey - it's a $1000+ purchase so maybe he'd volunteer to check other Lowes stores? Or call Weber? Nope - we had to pull it out of him and when he finally did locate the model in the Marietta store he didn't even offer to call and ask them to hold it. I get the message. FINALLY!!! After visiting several stone and garden centers, landscaping supply stores and nurseries, we finally found the perfect stone for our garden border. After looking at so many stores, I feared that my husband was starting to settle and that is just not acceptable in my book. While we were in the area, we decided to check out their stones and I am so glad that we did. What a great moment! Although I do not get to this store very often, I have stopped in before, (on numerous occasions). Today I noticed that they were very well stocked with their flowers as if the delivery truck had just visited minutes prior to our arrival. Varied and beautiful! Everything looked so healthy and lush! just in time for the weekend rush! You will definitely want to get their early for the best selection and service. Prior to 7:30am is ideal and don't forget to purchase your work gloves! If you find stones that you like, grab a few samples to test in your garden. On the Northside of Atlanta OTP, comparing Home Depot to Lowes is a lot like Wal-Mart to Target. Home Depot does very well at contractor grade, get it done, do it yourself brands and materials. Lowes offers far more designer options with more of a focus on the consumer while still accommodating the contractor. I often visit this location or the one down on Duke drive instead of the Home Depot on Windward or the one next door to my neighborhood for simple things like hardwood floor cleaners, better lighting options, and more variety for garden and decorating needs that my local Home Depot doesnt have. The staff at this Lowes are also friendlier and tend to be more knowledgeable in my recent experience. read more

Lowes has to get out of the installation and delivery business, like now. They are quite simply inept. Honestly they just don't have the internal communications skill or more alarmingly, just don't care about the customer experience after the sale. After I had a horrible experience two years ago getting a refrigerator delivered from this Lowes, I gave them another chance recently with a stove and oven. I won't bore you with the blow by blow, of the ineptness of the staff at Lowes coordinating the delivery, but it was supposed to be delivered Sunday between 3:30pm and 5:30pm. On Saturday we received a recorded phone call with that information. Sunday, 5:30PM comes and goes and no one shows. Called the store. They don't know and say that they aren't able to get in contact with the installation team. (boy that's troubling) About an hour later, I get a call from someone at JB HUNT shipping telling me that the driver is over his DOT hours and won't be coming today. This is the exact same kind of ineptness I experienced two years ago with the refrigerator. Except then, instead of showing up at noon, they showed up around 9pm. Hey Home Depot, don't get cocky, we actually went to you first and had to leave because no one would wait on us. You wouldn't think people with orange aprons could hide that easily but they actually pull it off. So we are happily getting our oven and kitchen equipment through Amazon and Build.com. Cheaper and less fuss. So people don't shed too many tears for the Bricks and Mortar stores going out of business. They brought it on themselves. The worst part about it is I don't think anyone cares. (One Brick and Mortar store, BEST BUY, is exempt from my comments as they provided a great install experience recently. Hands down, the best Lowe's I have ever shopped. Several reasons: 1) They answer the phone! Unbelievable! They are cheerful and helpful on the phone! 2) Store is clean and well stocked. Their nursery plants are well watered and healthy. None are screaming for help. Even their clearance plants have been groomed and watered. 3) I picked up an online order...they staged it and loaded it very quickly! Someone helped me right away! 4) Friendly and knowledgeable employees! So many exclamation points (!) for this store. Unfortunately, these days my expectations for customer service is very low. I am so surprised when I have a stellar experience at a big box store. This is not the Lowe's closest to me...my store is Johns Creek, which has rude and unmotivated employees. My store was out of the merchandise I ordered (imagine that) so I had to go to North Alpharetta on Windward. Happy, happy, happy this transaction happened this way. So, I'm at Lowes at 10:00am on a Sunday morning. I might have been one of ten customers in the entire building. I needed dry wall, and a tow motor was parked right in front of the type I needed. The woman at the pro checkout calls for assistance THREE times, and no one comes to help. She suggests I walk to the other end of the store to customer service to ask for help. I chuckled - fat chance at customer service this morning. After more than 15 minutes of waiting, and a final shrug for their associate, I left and made the short drive to Home Depot. By contrast, I walked in the door and two people ask if they can help. Got what I needed, and checked out. They asked me if I needed help loading the materials into the truck.
