First time visiting and buying plants at Woody's. I was looking for some large green giant trees. had started at another well-known nursery and the cost was quite high and the trees were not great so I stopped by Woody's and paid a third of the cost of what it would have cost me at the other nursery. The staff were outstanding, very accommodating, very friendly and treated me as if I was a long time customer. We had the trees delivered because they were so large, 45 gallon trees. They delivered them as promised, and I've been a pleasure to work with all the life through the transaction. read more

This place has an excellent selection of shrubs. I thought they wouldn't answer much questions since I thought most of their customers were pro landscapers, but they did help me out and point me in the right direction. It's great to go there, read labels, and start researching online for whether certain plants will work in your space. They have quality 3 gallon holly shrubs for under $13. I couldn't find a better price and they are full and healthy. My favorite are the Encore azalea shrubs. Gorgeous. They also have bales of pine straw for sale. Good place to go. read more

I have attempted to call Woody's several times over the last few days. The robo answering machine told me the hours and thanked me for calling and disconnected. No ability to talk to a person or leave a message. I have also tried sending a message on their website's "Contact" page. I cannot b/c I keep getting different error messages. Too hard to do business with this company. Too bad; was ready to spend hundreds of dollars. read more

The extensive inventory, variety, and excellent condition of the plants offered at Woody's can't be beat anywhere. Working with this company is the most pleasant consumer experience we've ever had. We landscape outfitted 90% of our 20 year old property. We had lost nine 60 ft tall evergreen trees when they caught a fungus from the neighbor's trees, and it was an unsightly mess. So, we bought new trees, and shrubs. When we saw what great help we were getting, we ordered 10-12 ft hedge plants for the front of the house to block road noise. We filled in wooded areas with Autumn ferns and Asiatic jasmine. We have some baby magnolias, tea olives, knock out roses, camellias, and mini butterfly bushes, which are called "Pugsters"...to name a few. Every employee knows their stuff and they have a highly skilled crew that delivers the items in their truck and they do the planting. They are on time, and they work efficiently. Increasing our property value was a quick and painless process. Our property would sell like a hot cake, but now we love this bit of heaven want to keep it. THANKS TO WOODY'S!!! read more

The best nursery around town. They have the most variety I've seen of trees, shrubs, flowers, and pretty much anything landscaping related. The prices are reasonable as well. I wish I would've come here last year before our big landscaping project. This year I decided to check them out before contracting with a landscaping company. Not only did it save a few bucks, but I also found some beautiful options for our front yard. The staff is so helpful in providing you additional information about any of the plants/trees you are considering and the owners are really knowledgeable as well. Skip the big box retailers and shop local. You won't regret stopping by for your landscaping/gardening needs. read more

I called Woody's in Duluth Ga Buford Hwy not knowing anything about them and Martin answered the phone and I soon got to know him and bought several shrubs,plants,pine straw,compost..etc..I would recommend Woody's Landscape 100 %..I had photos of my panting areas around my house and showed to Martin. I was able to call and setup an order for 70 bales of pine straw. I also needed installation and they offered that as a separate service, but the charge was reasonable. They were able to get everything done in one day, which really impressed me. The finished job looked good as well. read more

My husband and I were looking for some sort of plant-- we're amateur plant enthusiasts and needed advice. The staff at Woody's was so helpful. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonably priced with great variety in products. We went to Pike after first looking at Woody's selection just to get a feel for comparison. We ended up going back to Woody's and are now the proud new owners of a banana plant named Dwight! We will definitely be going back to Woody's for our future plant needs. read more

Duluth has a variety of smaller, well-rooted businesses that have been connected to the town for decades and Woody's is no different. Their website has photos of downtown Duluth from way back that let you know that this place has been here for a while, and plan to be in the future. If how they do business is any metric, then they will be, Suwanee decided that the wooded area behind my house needs to be townhomes, and once I saw the plans, I realized that these new townhomes would be right at my property's door. Once I walked the new proposed lot, it hit me that I am going to need natural barrier/plants and in a hurry. Now most middle-Americans first response would be to walk into a Home Depot, Lowe's or even Pike Nursery (for Atlantans). This would be the logical response if I needed one or two plants an maybe one bag of soil or landscape accoutrements. Well the "townhome project" required plants and soil in bulk, so a different approach was needed. I had passed Woody's for years never needing them, until today. I checked out their website and their services, then dropped in for a visit. Understanding that commercial customers come first will service the "normal customer" in this case. Don't think that you are being avoided if you aren't greeted immediately. Woody's existence is to serve local landscapers and wholesale customers FIRST, so keep this in mind. I have no issues with this way of thinking because most "big box" customers are douchebag, self-centered people anyway, thinking that if they stomp their feet hard enough or pitch a fit, that someone will help them. Woody's is not for you if this sounds like you or your significant other. I spoke to Frank, who helped us figure out which plants we needed, and he went out of his way to make sure that I had the plants delivered to my house (even when weekend delivery is not typically available). The plants are healthy, and we got to choose which ones were delivered. The prices were well under both Pike Nursery, and the big box stores, AND the plants look much healthier and better groomed for local usage. Yeah, I dropped big bucks (for me at least) on some trees, and would have no qualms spending money with Woody's again. I would much rather support a local business with real ties to the community that has personal service, then support a box store. If Woody's had spray paint, I would drive out of my way to buy it, but that's where another Duluth institution has me covered (Howard's). read more

Woody's is a family owned and operated nursery. Martin and Frank will always greet you with a smile. The prices are very reasonable. They always have a wide variety of plants. If they don't have a plant you are looking for, they are very helpful in suggesting alternatives and/or finding the plant somewhere for you. The prices are better than at Pikes. read more

Visited Woody's in hopes of finding the perfect plants for my garden the other day. I was like a lost puppy there. I went in and asked for some advice and the lady literally told me to walk down the hill and to go look at the trees "next to the barn". I didn't really know what I was lookIng for. No one was really willing to help so I took my business elsewhere. read more

Woody's always has the best selection of plants, shrubs, trees, etc. And they are very helpful in determining the best items for your landscaping needs. We went in yesterday looking for a shade loving evergreen shrub for privacy in our backyard, and they were extremely helpful. Not only did we get a ride in the golf cart down to look at trees, he helped us pick out 3 perfect ones. And to top it off, they were delivered within 2 hours! Great people and great service! I have used Woody's for wheat straw bales for both our church's Easter festival and for a backyard wedding. Frank and Martin are about as good as you can get. Nice, competitive pricing, excellent product, good communication, decent people. I would highly recommend them. And plan on using them again! read more
