Charging delivery and installation separately is very strange considering the installers bring the product with them. 378 for install of 6 shrubs and 150 for delivery. Outrageous. Pikes is one of the best nursery's in Georgia that I have found so far. It does the trick for a greenhouse run but they're still pretty expensive with their house plants. Found some spider mites in some house plants in their greenhouse which is a huge no no. read more

Went to Pike's for a Carolina Sweetheart tree. We had so many questions and Cole answered everything. He was extremely helpful from helping us pick out the best tree to loading it in our car. You could tell that Cole loves what he does! read more

Bought a couple of plants with a few damages on leaves Today in other location with very nice and kind employees. Within 3 hours after running errands, I visited this store and found same plants with better quality and shape that I liked. I asked if it was exchangeable. The employee had given me a lecture about if what I purchased was acceptable at the time, I cannot simply change my mind to exchange it. You buy and you keep. If the plants from other store with any issue is exchanged, then it will be their loss in this store. And also, the employee said that she does not know what I have done to the plants once I take them home. The employee also said that I should not have purchased it if I did not like it in the first place especially if it is house plants. Plus, I have previously exchanged houseplant in the same store before. And, the receipt or the website does not clearly explain the return policy on houseplants. I had very positive experiences with Pike nurseries before but Today was very very negative. read more

During these hard times the young women Working here we're extremely helpful and pleasant. One young lady would bring plants over from a part of the area that wasn't open yet so I could pick some plants for my patio. She went out of her way to help me and I appreciate it. Always greeted and asked if I need anything. It's also easy here to buy single small pots of flowers for use in planters. The two star rating is solely for the service at this location. The products offered are of the quality and price point I've come to know and appreciate. The visual presentation, again, fantastic. So, now the bad. I will not post names, as I fully understand the challenges a retail associate may face hourly. The two young ladies in charge of the front end could not have been more disinterested in assisting us with our questions as I would have been listening to their topic of conversation. The difference being, I'm not paid to give affirmations or suggestions to their lives. I asked one of them a question about the points I thought I had accrued from my last visit at the State Bridge location and if it had put me over the threshold for a 25.00 discount. "No" was her answer. No smile, no welcome to Pikes, we normally hear at other locations, no, " are you finding everything you need today"? No smile. No eye contact and definitely, no interest in assisting us. Yelp asks that we take the current state of things into consideration before reviewing, and I do and have. I work grocery retail, so the state this pandemic has put on folks shopping for food to feed their family has been an ultimate challenge to normalcy. Still, courtesy and tact prevail always. We mustn't allow an uncontrollable occurence detract us from our job. To those two young ladies, thank you, you made it easy for us to decide which Pikes to spend our next $600.00 at and which one to tell our friends to shop. They practice social distancing with 6 feet apart signs and arrows for directions. They also have hand sanitizer and masks for their customers at the entrance. I couldn't find what I needed during my visit, but I felt safe shopping here. read more

Stopped in here since we moved 40 minutes from our old nursery. We will be driving 40 minutes from now on! We asked if the price marked on the last 3 flowers with shriveled leaves and no more fresh blooms on them was the final price...yep...unless you want to wait till February. They only give military discounts on Wednesday! I don't know any veteran who only fought one day a week! After spending over $200 with a cart full and then some, they never offered to have someone help us out to load the car until I complained about it and said I'd have to leave something at the counter and come back in for it since we had so much. Unfriendly, overpriced and not military friendly! Like I said...we'll make the 40 minute drive to our favorite nursery instead of going here again. read more

I bought a hanging plant for $40. that died 1 week later and they wouldn't return it. I'm bummed at the lack of customer services because I feel like the prices are much higher at Pikes than Lowes and Home Depot. This was the first time I ever tried to return a plant and the only reason I did so was I thought $40. was overpriced to begin with and I was really kicking myself when it died so quickly. The Pike's on Peachtree Industrial is the best of the three competing locations for Johns Creek by far. The selection on hand is not only high in quantity, but the quality of each plant is awesome. Choosing the right one is somewhat difficult because the plants are all amazing. The main building is neatly organized and inspires great ideas - and the Customer Service is top class. Charles is an amazing leader and manager who is quick to pull in the right people, has positive relationships with vendors and other stores and instills a sense of trust when talking to him. You're not getting a sales guy with Charles - you're getting a partner for any project you are working on. And that style of leadership is very apparent throughout the team. Great job, Charles! We have found our go to place for all things, "playing in the dirt." read more

Great advice. Will replace plants that fail within something like a couple of months and I think bushes within a year. Check to be sure. The best advice on you lawn is from Harvey. Ask for him by name. He can solve most all lawn problems. read more

Okay, I do NOT have a green thumb. I stopped by Pikes to get the scoop on how the heck to start a small vegetable garden for a summer project with the kids. I found THE nicest guys at Pikes. He walked me through every step. He explained things about the soil so that my kids could understand. I felt like we got a free educational field trip. All our supplies were only about $100. Our garden in doing so terrific. It is actually growing!! My kids are happy...mamas happy! read more

If you are looking for small gardening projects I believe it would probably be a great place to get started. I m building the square foot garden and it requires some compost, coarse vermiculite, and compost. The prices here were extremely high for the quantity that I needed. After I added it all up it was going to be almost $400 for two garden beds. I decided not to get the stuff I needed and look around. I am glad I did look around. It seems I can find all the same supplies needed for $120. Granted I have to go to two different stores instead of one but I am much happier. That is a huge price difference and makes me question ever coming back for other stuff. I did look around at other stuff and it looks like they have a lot of other nice things available. I just couldn't believe the pricing difference. It's probably great if you are just looking for small quantities of things for smaller projects. I do think they have a superior selection for the different types of compost they carry. read more
