it is not a love fest of customer service here, but hey, its a feed and seed not Tiffany's. They have all the supplies an urban or country farmer or rancher would need. Nice selection of horse supplies and plenty of garden supplies. They are not overly zealous sales people but they are to the point and knowledgeable about what they sell. read more

We enjoy visiting Brownlee's every gardening season. Buddy and his wife are friendly and helpful to us. In addition to gardening supplies they stock my favorite brands of hunting clothes. One hard-to-find item that we purchase here every year is neem oil for our roses. They sell the biggest sturdiest tomato cages that I've ever seen; they are perfect for my indeterminate cherry tomatoes. read more

So this place is awesome. I love to buy all my backyard things here and my chicken supplies! I love the fact that its so close to my house and in supporting a local business. This place has all my needs! And ...more ! Now.... today I was running late from work when I realized my chickens had no feed. I rushed around 530 knowing they chose at 6.... traffic was terrible! At 6:02 I knew I was defeated. I was sitting at one light for 10 minutes because of traffic.....I called around 6:03 because I could literally see the building and I thought... maybe they would stay open. A very pleasant girl answered the phone! I was so happy that I had a chance! I let her know I was right there and could she please stay open for a few more minutes !I knew exactly where my chicken feed was..... to my surprise she said since I was so close ...that YES she would wait!I almost started trying because a 10 minute ride took me 30 minutes and I knew it would be closed.....I ran in got my feed and ran out. I can't thank them enough for staying open for me. They honestly could have said no....but they didn't...I can't thank them enough! read more

Have always loved Brownlee's-- they are the last vestige of the old "seed-and-feed" stores (such as Cooper's and the Gold Kist store) left in Gwinnett County. The family recently sold out to new ownership--owners are retiring and their kids didn't want to carry on the family business. It's become more a "boutique" store than the country-store of my childhood, but you can (or could) still buy all kinds of feed products here, from regular pet food to chicken feed, and all kinds of garden seeds and products. I HOPE the new owners will keep up the great stock--but this morning (Black Friday) I can't even get them to answer the phone there (even though it says they are open)--so that is not a good sign. Hoping the new owners carry on the Brownlee's tradition!!! read more

We get our dog food here and the prices in comparison to the big box stores are pretty good. I am ALWAYS helped out to my car with the 40 - 50# of dog food, and I have found the owners to be knowledgeable about the foods I'm buying. We also buy plants here and frequently ask the owners what we need to do to keep them alive and have received wonderful advice that has helped. While they may not be extroverts, I am, and they always respond to questions and friendly chit chat in a fun way. On the up-side, they're not at all pushy and know their products really well so that they can recommend only what you need and nothing you don't. read more
