I ordered a pallet of sod and the big bag of amendment for my son's yard. The sod arrived on time but it looked terrible. Paper thin. No dirt underneath the sod. Pieces so thin they just tore apart. We heavily used the soil in hopes it might take . I've bought my share of sod and put it down and never a problem . It's expensive and a lot of work to lay sod . What makes matters worse is I don't think it has a chance in H*#% of surviving. I will not be buying from them again. In addition I have a stunning lawn and people always asking me for referrals. There was no communication for our delivery. We must have been the last delivery on the route. Four of the twelve rolls of sod were scraps. Seems that is what was left at the end of his route. The sod was left at the back of our driveway with the bad scraps buried on bottom to hide the problem. The solution super sod has that I could come pick up some replacements... (if I could do that I would not have paid $150 for it to be delivered...looking for another supplier now. Btw the other 8 were good quality. read more

I picked up about $300 in Sod from the McFarland location to replace some bad areas in my back yard. When I saw it, there was a lot of brown in the rolls. I asked the guys loading it and they said it's all that way when it arrives - "It will just green up". Then, I went to the front desk and got the same answer. I should have refused it because we've been trying to bring it back for 3 weeks. It's still brown with only a little green, and it's about to get really hot. I sodded my whole yard 3 years ago (in August), and the sod was perfectly green when it arrived. I would look elsewhere if their sod is brown going forward. read more

Don't not buy sod from this company. half the sod they delivered me was dead. I tried to get them to resolve this matter and they said it was my fault for allowing sod to sit on pallet for more than a day until installed. The ironic thing is they delivered my sod on Wednesday when my requested delivery day was Thursday so they could install on Friday. Terrible company! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! Save your health and your hard-earned money. Definitely NOT organic soil whatsoever, despite the OMRI certification! Do you want to eat vegetables grown out of soil riddled with plastics in it?! These flexible plastics are the kind that likely have carcinogenic PFAS in them, which leach chemical pollutants into the soil. Horrendous, dismissive customer service response, whereby they simply shrugged that it is a commonplace occurrence to have plastics throughout the soil and "...there's nothing to worry about with plastics in the soil." I have used Super Sod in Lawrenceville several times over the years. this is the first time the sod is horrible. it looked bad when I picked it up so I put it out and watered right away. I contacted them and they assured me it would be fine. I kept watering. it still didn't look great so I contacted again by email. NO RESPONSE. MY GRASS DOESN'T LOOK GOOD. At their new location, they need some awnings or something to keep the grass from croaking in the hot sun. I will ever use again due to their lack of customer service. read more

My contractor installed 6 pallets of Super Sod zenon zoysia last April which looked great at first. When it cooled off in October the weeds started to take over and choke out the sod till it was 80% weeds. This weed was in the sod as there were two spots in the existing zoysia lawn that they used this batch to patch a weak spot that became over run with this same weed grass. The installer took pictures and thought Supersod should replace the weedy sod, which he offered to install. Super sod guy insisted that the Field are inspected and do not contain any week grass, suggesting we get Service to treat the weed, they came out and are pretty sure that the weed came with the sod. After spending $5,000 on sod it should not have a weed issue like this and am very disappointed with their customer service. My neighbor installed same sod from another supplier the same week and they had no issues with weeds. Do not buy their sod as they do not stand behind it ! Unhappy in John's Creek. read more

The staff was friendly and loaded my truck with a pallet of sod quickly. I am giving the fescue sod a two star review because it was not fresh with many of the rolls having dried out edges and corners. The other concern I have is the sod has a heavy black plastic netting embedded in the soil. I was unaware that this sod is grown with plastic. Plastic netting is not just an environmental issue but it also will make scarifying the lawn a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and find sod grown without plastic. Super sod should be informing the customer prior to purchase. read more

We recently purchased and had installed sod from SuperSod using their system of installers. By placing an order with them and telling them you would like installation, I received bids, one even within minutes, from installers connected to SuperSod. I recommend that if you use SuperSod, you have your own trusted installer ready to go. DO NOT use one of their installers. This is less convenient upfront, but in the long run it will save you an extreme amount of hassle. There are sod companies that also install. Use one of them instead. I chose one of the installers who contacted me through SuperSod, Michael Wanzer. His invoice had the name Juniorscapes on it, but equipment was delivered the day of install from Gilbert Landscaping. So I am unsure of the exact company we were dealing with. We scheduled a date and the installer worked with SuperSod on getting the sod delivered. A crew showed up and performed the install. They had to return a second day because they ran out of sod the first day and had to have more delivered. That evening, once the crew was gone, and having a chance to look at the lawn we noticed problems. Some seams did not match up. Seams were turned up instead of down and in contact with the soil. Holes were cut in the center of sod pieces for no reason and placed on the lawn, leaving a dead ring around the circle that was cut out. The ground underneath was uneven, either because they didn't level the dirt, making peaks and valleys through a piece of sod (10 sq ft), or because there were rocks they left immediately in contact with the sod (a problem for rooting). There were even bobcat tracks left and sod installed on top so it ripples with the tracks. They did roll the lawn, just not well. Some sod pieces had the dirt underneath knocked off during install. Where that occurred, the sod is not rooting because it has no direct contact with the dirt like the rest of that sod piece. Obviously those sod parts have died. And recently we discovered Bermuda grass is coming up through the zoysia we had installed. This is because the prior lawn was not killed with Roundup by the installer prior to install. They should have scraped the old lawn days before installing new sod and killed anything that was there. The only way to rid the lawn of the Bermuda now is to use a foam paint brush to paint RoundUp on each individual stem of Bermuda, carefully avoiding any of the zoysia blades. And it will be an ongoing problem that this individual stem painting will have to be done again and again, vigilantly. I contacted the installer, after he was paid, about all of these problems. At first I heard nothing. I finally contacted SuperSod with the problem talking to them and emailing the list of problems at their request. The installer contacted me within the hour and indicated he would be out about 4 days later to look at it and get it fixed. He never showed. He finally had his crew leader contact me (after texts from me) who said Mr. Wanzer was sick and wouldn't be able to come out. The crew leader arranged to come at 8 am the next morning. He did not show up. I again contacted SuperSod to tell them of the lack of service. SuperSod seemed interested in fixing the issue at first. I initially asked that the installer be removed from their preferred installer program. When he did not show to fix the problem, I asked a SuperSod manager to come see the yard so they could see that he should not be on their installer list. I was told emails and info was passed on to management at SuperSod. No one from SuperSod has contacted me or come to see the lawn. Our only choices now are to pay more to have someone else fix it (unlikely since they have larger jobs of installing sod that is more profitable) or trying to rectify the issues on our own. That is a 4,500 sq ft nightmare. Save yourself this hassle by using an installer you know well to install your SuperSod or use a full service sod company that can provide and install the sod. We will likely never know if our SuperSod is actually super due to all the issues. read more

My Super-Sod® topsoil is in! 2 Big Yellow Bags®. They are a cubic yard each (27 ft3 each - total 54 ft3) of the most beautiful composted topsoil I have ever seen. Even better than the bags displayed at the home show. Reminds me of coffee grounds in perfect consistancy. I am straining at the bit to spread it over the yard in front of the wall I made last year, and of course, it is pouring buckets at a windy chilly 44°. When they said it would be at the door at 7:00am, they were not kidding. At 7:00am precise, the door bell rang. Follow-up 5/30/16 I have bought sod from them and a couple more bag of their "Big Yellow Bags". And I find I cringe now every time I see someone buying old yellowed sod at Home Depot or Lowe's now. Why 3 and not 5? Well, I stopped by and reserved two pallets of sod when picking up my topsoil. Well I went to go pick it up at 7:30 am because that is when the guy who sold me the sod told me it would be there on Monday morning. It was not there. I went ahead and paid for one pallet of the sod I reserved and reserved another pallet just in case. Well they didn't have my pallet ready until 10 AM. Well I went and picked up my pallet a soon as they called me and the guy inform me that he couldn't give me my second pallet that I had reserved twice. He told me that they were already reserved. So other peoples reservations are more important than mine? Well they did end up making up for it at the very end by giving me eight rolls for free because I had taken five trips up there only for two pallets of sod and topsoil. Maybe next time when I reserve pallets twice they'll actually reserve them for me. read more

In 2018, I spent more than $6K resodding my entire backyard using the Zeon Zoysia product from the Alpharetta store on McFarland . After two years the sod has performed very poorly. I had army worm problems and zoysia patch issues. I've spent extra money for chemical treatments, herbicides and top dressing but all have failed to revive this sod. The Super Sod rep visited several times to recommend additional treatments and a soil test. I also replaced several areas with new sod and continue to have poor results. I'm convinced the sod is just not a good product. I purchased the same type of Zoysia sod from another vendor and have had great success. Overall, I like the people at Super Sod but their sod is just not a good product. read more

In selecting a lawn I recommend you know your situation before you spend your hard eaned money. I had a fescue lawn in the back with tall trees along the fence line, limiting the area to 4-6 hours of mid-day sun. Fescue greens up nicely but does not wear well. On the weekend I like to bring the two dogs out with me as I work in the backyard. Fescue does not stand up well to the traffic and reseeding throughout the year was necessary. I invited SuperSod out to access options and they recommended TifTuf. The process requires you to cut the lawn as low as possible, spray and kill the roots and then rototill, level and rack. Hard work... I had 7 pallets delivered from Alpharetta and Lawenceville (availability issues). Installation is backbreaking but once completed it started to green up in 3-4 days. August was hot and September was wet so likely not the best conditions. The sod rooted poorly and the SuperSod installer and Alpharetta manager were both out several times. In each visit they recommended additional products (aerating, fungicides, lime, fertilizer and Soil3 topdressing, not inexpensive). It's now 10 months later and it look thin and weak with some areas nearly bald. I planted small cuttings in the front yard to see how it compared to the old bermuda. In full sun it grows in well. Botton line, a lot of hard work and thousands of dollars later and I think I'm back to fescue. When I purchased the sod SuperSod stated if you are not happy they will make it good. They won't. Be willing to compromise as you can't change mother nature. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. I contacted them on May 30, inquiring about a cost for sod and installation, and was told Carlos would be at our home at 9:00 AM on June 6, one week later. After waiting over an hour, my wife called Super- Sod and spoke to the receptionist. The receptionist was very rude and condescending, telling my wife that her paperwork showed a different time. The representative called later and said it was his error, and would arrive in 45 minutes. Also, be aware that you must pay Super Sod $50.00 for a soil test, before they will quote anything. I told the representative that we needed the job completed by end of June, and after several texts from me, was informed that work couldn't be done until July 9, some 6 weeks after my initial contact with them. This business has no sense of urgency, as far as getting the job done in a timely and efficient manner, and as far as customer service, this is a glaring example of customer no-service.
