I go to Pike Nurseries often. I've been to many different locations throughout the Atlanta area. This location not only has MULTIPLE PESTS in the houseplants, but the employees aren't the nicest either. I have been here twice on two different occasions, and both times I saw pests and told an employee. The first time I told the lady who is apparently over the entire houseplant section and she acted as if the Thrips were dead when they clearly weren't. She tried brushing them off like that would do something? Then the second time I was here I saw multiple SPIDER MITES in the corn plants and Anthuriums, THRIPS on the zebra plants, MEALYBUGS on the Alocasias. I have hundreds of plants at home and I would be devastated if I brought any of these creatures into my home unexpectedly because of their lack of pest control. read more

I tried to return these two plants for a store credit. I can maybe see their argument for the one, because half of it was still alive, but they said both were alive and wouldn't even give a store credit for the other plant. These were planted by Pikes too. read more

Moving from California it's been challenging adjusting to a new zone and plants (or seasons in general). However, Joy at the Crossville/Roswell location has been so helpful and wonderful to work with. She helped my plan my backyard landscape and helps with all my seasonal refreshes, as well as my bad habit/obsession of buying more house plants. This is the best Pike's location! Great customer service! I love how they have a lot of staff on hand so you don't have to go up & down lots of aisles to find someone to help you like at the big box stores. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of plants, trees, pots and supplies. And those incredible outdoor seating sets!! I want a huge patio just for one of those cool seating sets. Lots of garden decorative items too. Yes, the plants can cost you just a little bit more but they are so worth it. Not one dead or droopy looking plant in the whole store. The big box stores can't say that - half their stuff looks wilted and dried up. I wanted to create a large flowering planter - I knew the colors I wanted but was clueless on the right plants. The nice lady picked out the perfect plants to complement my pot and area. just perfect! Join the frequent shopper program for great discounts and savings. Two weekends ago, everything in the store was 20% off! Pike's the definitely the best place to get your Christmas trees! They have a great selection for $29.95 fraser firs. If you have a question about plants, wander outside and ask somebody working out there. We never asked a question that didn't get an immediate and definite answer. There are people with four-year college degrees in...uh...plant stuff who don't know what these people know. Practical knowledge whups theoretical knowledge every time. You get what you pay for, but even so, I ding Pike's a star for the prices. If I already know that I want a beefsteak tomato plant, I don't grin and bear paying substantially more than I would pay at a big(ger) box retailer. read more

We recently moved to Roswell from NYC, having lived there pretty much all our lives. So we are used to crappy customer service, MIA staff, terrible return lines, etc. Now that we have a huge yard, we are trying our hand at sprucing up several areas. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! The staff were super knowledgeable, had the patience of angels with us asking a million stupid questions (first time gardeners - what can I tell you!), steering us away from beautifully colored plants that would never survive in our half shaded yard and basically led us to exactly what we needed - ground cover with pretty flowers that thrive in part shade! I have never had so many staff ask us if we needed help. They even offered to load it into the car for us! My husband, not mechanically inclined AT ALL, decided he needed all these garden tools. The lady thankfully paired down what he had on the cart to the basic items of hedge clippers, pruning shears, a shovel and a rake. Wonderful place, wonderful staff. As we have a huge yard, all in disrepair, we will be bothering them all the time! read more

Updating my previous review. The VP of Landscaping and Install contacted me after this interview. He brought a team out and redid the planting for the shrubs. He also replaced 2 of the shrubs. He was not happy with the way they had been planted. I still lost the ground cover; but he was very personable and nice to deal with. I would contact Home Office instead of the branch with any problems in the future. read more

Pike nurseries is a nice foil to the Big Box lawn and garden departments. The staff are knowledgeable and courteous. Come to this Pike if you like plants, and crave a bit more variety than what you usually find at home improvement stores. It's great in the spring, this is your one stop shop for organically raised herbs and vegetables. They have a surprising variety of each type, several types of tomatoes, even some heirloom; as well as a few different types of the more popular herbs like basil. Keep a lookout for clearance prices and markdowns. It's a good way to get nice pottery or decent plants that might need a little love to get them back to peak performanc If cost is your concern, you would be better to head to one of the home improvement warehouses. Pike has great staff and lovely plants, but be prepared to pay a premium for the product. Be sure to join their frequent buyer's club. Have problems with Christmas tree I bought. Went to pay for it while they were to move it and prepare to put on my car. Came back and as they tied it to mr car they specifically said they cut 1" off the bottom. Paid 300+ for the tree. In 4 days my 11' tree it has not absorbed more than a quart of water. Thought we would get better tree and service from Pike, but clearly did not. This is not like a plant that dies from heat, etc. I paid a premium price with expectation of better product and service and got neither. read more

Pikes used to be great. I've been buying most of my stuff here for decades, but that's going to end. I tried over and over to get help with the fig tree I bought here which ultimately died, and when I brought it in for credit they refused. After spending around $1,000/year for decades, I'm shopping elsewhere. They charge premium prices but offer second rate service these days. read more

Great nursery! I enjoyed my afternoon observing all the beautiful selections of flowers. They offer a complimentary bag of small popcorn while your observing the plants. Great help as well. Prices are a bit higher than your local Lowe's or Home Depot, but the selection here is greater.
