Just got off the phone with someone from the store after having an issue with a flocked Christmas tree where I told her we were not informed that these trees do not need water. I had a few other questions about it as well, and I have to say, she was impatient and not very understanding and just about the worst customer service you would want if you expect people to come back. Which I will not. Despite them charging more for these trees and advertising that they will last longer, ours is drooping. Forget you, Pike Nurseries. I have always liked this pike nursery until today when I had an issue.  They sold me what appeared to be Silverleaf Hydrangeas for Annabelle.  I planted when it was small and with buds only to discover it was not Annabelle one month later.  Since I was watering it a lot now it's 3 times as big.  I took the pictures and also the Annabelle label that I kept to this place.  I was hoping that they would give me a full refund or store credit without actually me digging it up.   However this was not what Amanda (an assistant manager) has told me  "You have to bring it back for an exchange or you have an option to purchase Annabelle".  Then she went onto say "You have purchased this a month ago so it shouldn't be too much to just pull it up" then she said "We have a policy that even if the plant dies, you will need to bring it up for an exchange". I said to her this situation is not the same because it is obviously Pike's mistake and I should not have to work for it.  I went around the town to try to find Annabelle and even talked to a guy here then purchased it.  Then her tone started to get more aggressive and she asked me "what is it that you want?".  At that point I had to say "I really don't appreciate your attitude toward me.  What I was expecting was full refund or a free Anabelle with a sorry for the inconvenience.  Or at least store credit of 50% of the price".  Then she said I cannot do that because it's store policy. Then I said it is really frustrating I had to drive here and drive back I am not the one who cause this mistake.  Then she said she can give me 10% off of the next one.  Then I said more reasoning then she said 20%.  I went on to say it is not enough.  Then she finally said "Ok I just give you full refund just to get it past but why can't you just dig it up and bring it back".  I did not say any further because she should know that I am a customer who received the wrong item due to store's mistake.  If they really want to get that back, they should come to my place and dig it up.  Even after that a month of my effort of watering will be a waste.  I said I almost don't need the full refund but I want more of an apology.  Then she said "that's why I apologized". (she was not apologetic at all)  I told her that it is upsetting and by the time she really frustrated me so tear was coming down from my eyes in front of the other customers.  A guy who brought Annabelle for me watching the partial thing asked "How is it going" so I said "not good".  Then the another cashier watching the whole thing just laughed.  When I picked up the new Annabelle and leaving the store none of the workers said sorry or anything at all. So this whole conversation was super unprofessional and honestly I felt she was super cold and mean and I felt I was treated super unfairly.  Even though in the end, she gave me the item I wanted, I felt hurt, emotionally distressed, and embarrassed in front of all the other customers.  I do not think this is how a customer is supposed to be treated at any store. read more

So grateful for business that are still open and operating during these times. I did my research and decided to get a Monstera Deliciosa. I was so thrilled when I saw they had some in stock. Not just the fully grown ones but a few healthy babies also. I convinced my mother to get one also. I went with a baby to see how good my green-thumb is. Believe it or not, this was my very first time ever in this store and I personally was in heaven. So many beautiful, healthy plants. If I could buy them all I'm sure I would. All of the employees wore mask and were upbeat and eager to help. I think a few items were a bit overpriced but I was still able to get my plant, a pot and a few other items. Love this Pikes location! Always beautiful displays, great selection, and AMAZING customer service! I'm always greeted upon entrance, and I'm also always offered assistance while shopping! There's a really friendly gentleman (I wish I knew his name, he's always organizing, rotating the heavy planters, seems to be the guy who does it all!) whom I know has been there for years, he's so friendly and committed to helping me find what I am looking for. And then there's Stephanie, her customer service is unmatched to any service I have received anywhere is forever! Twice now she has really gone above and beyond in assisting me! First time, she assisted me with a semi complicated return, it took a bit of time and some insightful research which needed up keeping me there later than their open hours but she was happy to do so! Second time, again she helped me make a purchase for an item that had an expired sku and again, this took some time. She's really made my shopping at Pikes so enjoyable and it's my hope that she'll always be there when I return. Aside from these two standout employees, I've also witnessed other great acts of service at this store by other associates, which is why I can confidently and also adamantly recommend this nursery to everyone! Our front and side yard needed an overhaul. Pike was top notch in this process, and they snagged a star in Kirsten Judd. We are "garden illiterate", so Kirsten walked us up & down every plant aisle to see what we are drawn to, came to our home to explore options based on sun exposure etc, drew up a beautifully detailed plan, & organized the entire installation process (teams that moved sprinkler heads, put in French drains & stepping stones, added new soil, removed rocks/weeds/worn out plants...I could go on). She made the entire process as easy as possible. Does Pike cost more than big box stores? Well yes of course, but we had her expertise in picking the right (& well grown) plantings and have a lifetime guarantee on all that was installed. I decided to shop at Pike's to support the small business owner. I arrived during the Covid-19 so people were on line 6 feet apart in the parking lot. They assisted customers by calling them one at a time to the door. It took 15 mins to help each customer thinking they had a small amount of employees. I was incorrect, I saw some return from lunch and by looking inside saw 7 more employees. So confused as to why they had about 10 customers online in the hot parking lot while they help one customer at a time?!?! As I saw customers drive up stand in line for 5 mins and then get in their cars to leave as they didn't want to wait an hour plus. Saw about 8 customers leave. Once I was called I told them what I was looking for. They said they only have that in a four pack. Why do I have to buy four plants when others like Home Depot only sell one. I asked and the salesperson said "I don't know what to tell you, want them or not" That says it all as I will never shop here again and will tell my story to all my friends and family as they shouldn't waste their time shopping at a store that doesn't care about their customers. If you do not have a natural green thumb /newbie like I am....I recommend for you to stop by this location. Since I had/have literally know idea what I was doing I decided to stop by this location due to many recommendations. Everyone that goes to this location has advised me that their customer service is outstanding. Co-workers advised me that the staff are knowledgeable. That they would be able to recommend me some good options based on what I was looking for. My long list of requirements: 1. My home does not get very direct light but a lot of indirect light. So a plant that does not need bright light. 2. Indoor plants that are hard to kill. 3. Not poisonous (pet friendly) 3. Air filteration ability. 4. Decent size to be able to filter air in large rooms (I do not want 10 little plants in 1 room just to filter the air in the room- I prefer 1 big plant) When I arrived and advised them my requirements they were able to recommend some options and how to care for them. They were very patient with me despite all my annoying questions (ex: what soil do I use? how often do I water them? how big of a pot do I buy to put them in? etc.) I cant say for people who already have a green thumb how great this place would be for them (aka the selection of options)..... but for those like me..... the free help is priceless and greatly appreciated. HELLO? Since I am in the process of updating my front landscape, I decided to stop by Pike's to explore my options for trees, plants, and planters. It was very quiet today and much of the staff was either working behind the scenes or in the store. Also, there wasn't very much to see because it is still early in the season and they aren't stocked yet. Still, I was able to quietly explore the entire nursery looking at planters and plants and getting some ideas. I was also able to take photos of what I liked so that I could easily do additional research and share my ideas with my husband. They have beautiful large ceramic planters in various sizes and colors. I am definitely interested in incorporating planters into my landscape for a nice low-maintenance option. Pike's is a great place for inspiration because they go beyond the normal and have nice displays including sculpted trees, fountains and other types of accents. I really missed having the staff available today because the uniqueness of Pike's is the great advice and guidance provided. I will have to wait and try again in a few weeks. read more

Love this place! The prices are a slight bit higher than the big box stores, but the staff is so incredibly helpful. I'd rather have help choosing the right plants than pick them myself only to have them die because I'm not knowledgeable enough. I'm terrible with plants and they have helped me successfully choose plants that work with the amount of light and water my yard gets. Don't miss their special days when you can bring in your own container (or purchase a new one). They will help you choose plants and actually plant them for you while you watch. It's great to get the work done for you and also learn how to do it along the way. read more

On 9/12/15 I purchased 2 red tagged trees including the Pick n Plant option ($210 in planting services and $140 in trees). The receipt is attached. Printed on the receipt is 'Above Item Guaranteed for Life'. As of this spring, one tree is doing well; one tree is dead. On 5/13/2017 I went to your State Bridge location, 5795 State Bridge Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30022, to discuss the options for the dead tree as it relates to the Guarantee for Life statement on the receipt and posted at every register in your nursery Lifetime Guarantee on All Trees & Shrubs Excludes Annuals, Perennials, Sod, Houseplants, Tropical's, Holiday plans and plants not watered. A Manager was called to the register. She indicated red-tagged trees were not Guaranteed for Life and that this line item should have been voided from the receipt at the time of sale, as a result, she owed nothing. read more

Came here looking for advice on what grew in Georgia and what I should be planting when as well as to pickup seeds to start our hypothetical veggie garden. Incredible customer service! Stopped by to purchase large planters for our front porch. John spent the better part of an hour with me, even going past closing time. Showed him a picture of our house and he had a great recommendation for planters that look perfect on either side of the front door. He helped me choose a range of flowers and plants to fill the planters. Some will last the whole year round so that all I have to change out is the seasonal color. Just the lower maintenance solution I was looking for! He also helped me choose the right fertilizer and soil to keep things happy and blooming. Until this week I would have given this location 5 stars but had a issue with my mulch purchase and the inconsistency of the product and took a lot of time to show them the issue and how I could have the same product for each bag. They did not want to be bothered and actually walked away from me when I tried to explain. The young girl at the register was very helpful but beyond her control. I was driving by Pike's on States Bridge and I decided to check them out after all the commercials they have been playing on tv recently. WOW! What a great selection!! The icing on the cake was after checking out and having an employee named Charles H not only help me out to my car but actually carefully organizing everything so when I got home NOTHING had tipped over! One of the newer looking Pike Nurseries in the area (along with Roswell store West of 400). Great slection of trees, shrubs, and flowers that any gardener could ask for. To me, this is the best Pike's in the area... and I've been to five of them. I say this because it is more updated, and the tree and shrub selection even dwarfs the other Pikes (in my opinion). Prices are a bit higher than your local Lowe's or Home Depot, but the selection here is greater. Plus, if you're in their Play in the Dirt frequent club, all of your purchases on tree and shrubs is life-time guaranteed. read more

I love Pike's but will never, ever again use their Landscape & Design department. Their replacement offer on shrubs is a laugh. I have 5 plants that I have been waiting since the spring for them to replace. My husband has left countless messages about this. I don't even want them to come out & replace them.
