Best carryout/delivery pizza and breadsticks in the area. I really missed Faro's after moving to this side of town until I found Johnny's.

We were passing through the area and starved. I hadn't had lunch. I used chatgpt to find a…read morerestaurant in the area that I would like with my dining specifications. This place was really extraordinary. It's a historic eighteen hundreds mansion that 's been restored. Beautifully. The decor was romantic and elegant. Just enough lighting so that you could see your food in the menu comfortably. But had that romantic lighting vibe. I really liked what we turned chose for food. The first of all the bread and butter and oil. It was the best butter i've ever had in my life period it had some kind of seasonings and it had some salt in it. But I loved it, it was very whipped and soft. I could have made a meal just out of the bread and butter. We got two entrees and shared them. We got the eggplant barada and some kind of mushroom ravioli that had a lot of garlic and I think truffle oil. It had a very strong flavor and some kind of cream sauce. It was a great combination, but I think if I would have just gotten the mushroom ravioli, it would have been too rich and strong, a flavor. The eggplant was fantastic. They make their pasta in-house and it has that great fresh texture. The mushroom and the ravioli wasn't cooked to death. It was everything was cooked perfection. I was hoping to save room for a dessert because we heard their desserts are really something great. I had my eye on that chocolate moose, but alas, we did not have room for it. The prices are a little bit pricey, but the portions are nice sized. We probably should have just shared the eggplant and had more of the bread, but anyway, i'm glad we tried different things. It was really a nice evening. I'd had lemoncello for the first time in barcelona and they had that or a orange version, orange cello and I tried that. And it was like you'd expected orangey. Lemon chillo, very strong and acute little glass. This would be great for a date night or some special occasion.. I love the décor and the vibe I like that. The grounds were lovely and they had 3. A campfire, fire pit, things going. So with seating around it, so you could hang out. It was a bit expensive, but I thought it was worth the price. The service mark started strong, but in the end, service got a little bit laxing. My husband had asked for water and his was out of water, and he brought ice, but never brought the water, and I asked a question about the entree, and he said he would go find out and never came back with the answer. But they were really busy. The parking lot was full and I. I'm not mad at it. I would definitely recommend it and come back if I was ever in the area. A lot of times I struggle to find anything on the menu that i'm interested in. There were several things there that I would have loved to try. Even the bill comes out in these cute little suitcases boxes very, very cute.

We chose this restaurant expecting a more upscale dining experience based on the pricing, but…read moreunfortunately it fell short in several areas. I will address the positive things first. We were seated very promptly since we had a reservation. The outside of restaurant is beautiful and has a huge parking lot. The area where we were seated was really nice with windows all along the wall. And our appetizers- the dressed eggs and lobster ravioli were amazing!! One of the biggest issues was the number of gnats flying around our table throughout the meal. We constantly had to swat them away from our wine glasses, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the evening. I understand the occasional gnat. But this was kind of ridiculous. The service was also disappointing. Our server mentioned that he had worked at the restaurant for quite some time, but he didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu and wasn't able to answer questions confidently. He was also not very attentive, and we often had to wait longer than expected for check-ins. Our food came out quickly but the wine always took quite a while to come to the table. The food itself was good, but when you're paying fine-dining prices, you expect the entire experience--including the atmosphere and service--to match. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues because it has the potential to provide a much better dining experience. Also, I would skip the sea bass entree. I was not really impressed with it and wished that I had ordered a pasta dish. However the server helped me decide and chose the sea bass. I loved the atmosphere. I loved the decor. I loved the wine and appetizers. But everything else just did not impress me. Not for the amount of money we dropped on this meal. I doubt I will return.

However, no disappointment here: this was the best calamari and best halibut I have had in a very long time. We dined outside on a very warm evening, and I wish they had a fan to mitigate the bugs. After more than 25 years away from Ada, I returned to meet up with an old friend, and she…read moresuggested we get together at Nonna's . What a lovely choice! Tucked into a charming old house in the quaint little heart of Ada, this restaurant has so much character. The porch, with its inviting outdoor seating, is especially beautiful. It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, order something delicious, and catch up with an old friend without looking at your watch every five minutes. The food was genuinely excellent. I started with the mushroom soup, which was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, it was the kind of soup that makes you wonder whether ordering a bowl to take home would be excessive. (The answer is probably yes, but I might do it anyway!) I also had the beet salad with Gorgonzola and all the delicious accompaniments. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. My friend ordered a soup that I believe was lentil, which was also very good, along with a Caesar salad topped with protein that looked fantastic. And then there were the desserts! They looked wonderful, but by that point my stomach had officially announced that it was closed for business. Sometimes you have to make difficult decisions in life, and leaving dessert behind was one of them. Next time, I'm arriving with a better strategy. The cocktail menu deserves a mention, too. I had a beautifully crafted Boulevardier, one of my favorites, and it was very nicely done. Service was good overall, although some staff members, like Cynthia, were warmer and friendlier than others. We were never rushed, which I particularly appreciated. There's something lovely about being able to linger over a meal and conversation, especially when you're reconnecting with someone you haven't seen in years. Nonna's has a wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, good cocktails, and a setting that feels both charming and relaxed. If you find yourself exploring old Ada, I would definitely recommend stopping here. It's a lovely spot for lunch, a leisurely meal, or simply a chance to slow down and enjoy good food and good company. A very happy discovery on my return to Ada after all these years. And next time, I'm saving room for dessert!

I recently went to Pietro's to celebrate a friend's birthday. My boss and other locals knew all…read moreabout the birthday celebrations which seem to be a big hit! The space is large and easily visible from 28th street. It's a little off the main road so there's ample parking and it feels less hectic. I was greeted and easily helped to my table. The server we had, Colleen, was an absolute pro. She was soooo much fun and did everything to make sure we had a great time. She had such a wonderful energy and really helped to make sure we all had a great time. The food was good, I liked that some of the options were more interesting than the typical local Italian fare but still made sure to include the classics. The menu was on these large ipads which was somewhat offputting to me and we realized later that you could tap on the items to learn more about each dish. I personally prefer physical paper menues but it was definitely a talking point.

Pietro's looks the part, but the kitchen is lost in translation…read more Remember that feeling of ordering a Western dish abroad and getting something that looks right but tastes totally alien? That's Pietro's. Walking in, the aesthetic is spot-on--clean, bright, with a reassuring wine and pasta shop that screams Luca's delicatessen. Once the food hits the table, however, the illusion fades into what feels like cafeteria-level execution. The Coffee: If you're craving a proper Italian brew like Lavazza, skip it. The "Italian blend" here is an undefinable mix from Canada. Crab Stuffed Mushrooms: Promised Hollandaise, but delivered a texture closer to condensed soup, dominated entirely by black pepper. Not much crab or Hollandaise flavor. Chicken Paisano: A muddy flavor profile where only the prosciutto managed to stand out. Again, the sauce felt heavy and processed rather than freshly made. The staff are incredibly pleasant and enthusiastic, but there's a clear disconnect from the food's cultural roots. For a place boasting an old-country immigrant origin story, the current drift is disappointing. Don't get me wrong--I was hungry, and I ate every bite. But not even a toe of mine stepped into Italy that night.
