3 Toppings Build Your Own Cheese Pizza
    Melissa B.

I was really craving Hawaiian pizza and Palermo seemed to have the best prices of the options I saw on DoorDash! They have a Hawaiian specialty pizza on their menu but it was actually a bit cheaper to just order a 3 topping build your own. I added jalapeños for an added charge. From point of order to receiving it was about 30 minutes. Amazing timing! The pizza did look like it sat a little longer once it was finished to when it was picked up which was weird since the entire process was so fast! Either way, I thought the pizza tasted good even though it could have been a little hotter temperature wise but definitely hit the spot nonetheless. Good quality for the price you are paying.

    Just some of the mushrooms.

The parking lot in front is pretty small, and there is only one access point, so if you go past it, you'll have to turn around near the apartments behind it. Don't drive on the sidewalk... I didn't, mostly because there is a sign that says, "This is a sidewalk" which made me laugh. (Truly that should be an entrance into the parking lot!) The space is very bright and airy with cute decor and space to get some work or studying done. I was greeted right away when I walked in and I had a tough time deciding what to order. I wasn't hungry, but I love that they have a full on food menu - including salads, burgers(!!!), bagels, toasts, paninis, pastries, etc. Plus all the regular coffee items, boba, smoothies, and teas. I went with one of the seasonal specials, the banana bread matcha. It didn't take too long to come out and it was very tasty - not really what I was expecting, but I liked it. It reminded me of a very green banana (which is how I prefer bananas), it wasn't super sweet but also not super matcha-y. They are expanding their space, so I am interested in coming back to see what that looks like and to order more delicious drinks and try the food!

The food is always good, I think the wait staff is above average in friendliness and I especially like the meatball appetizer (polpetti al forno). Decent beer selections if wine isn't your thing, and if you're near the north side of Hudsonville this is a great spot to try and worth driving to if you're not so close either!

I suppose the food is fine enough, but I've had several subpar experiences with their mussels here. It's not a hipster establishment, but the prices do make one question this restaurant's lore. I cannot reconcile the high price with the lack of quantity, regardless of "quality." Truly, I always come back because it's close to home and albeit sounds good, but Pepino's happy hour menu can't be beat imo. They also have nice pasta and it's only $10 on Thursdays instead of $15-23. I understand that Licari's is upscale Sicilian, but I think I prefer establishments that deliver on food and price rather than just talking a big game. Sorry Licari's. $30+ dollars for a salad and a drink is a bit much... I did see some happy hour special for bruschetta and a drink for $15. However, I probably won't come back to try it.

I was quoted $13.99, but unfortunately charged over $16! It wasn't until I looked at my texted receipt that I noticed I was overcharged for half a sub instead of a quarter. Bummer. I went "rogue" with my sub where they turn the sub inside out, rub oil on it and grill it like a panini. It was good and worth the $.75 upgrade. Overall, the quality is good. I like the many mayonnaise and mustard options. Veggies tasted fresh. It's just a let down to pay so much for so little. For the same price I could sit down and have entire meal at The Winn that would be much larger (granted, I didn't get half the sub I paid for). The potato soup was okay. Not as good as Red Lobster's potato bacon. Just kinda a one note salty flavor. I probably wouldn't get that again. If I do decide to return, I might just get a huge sub for $15-16 and split it amongst my family. That was the highlight of the meal. Good meats, fresh veggies, inventive presentation with the rogue option and I enjoyed the mayonnaise Provence for some extra herbs. Next time, I'll inquire when I feel the price is too much. Oh well.

The staff is friendly and nice ... it's just the food... I've given up on the burgers after they've made them wrong on previous occasions. Lately, I've been trying the falafel wrap. The first time I had it, it was just okay. This time? Almost inedible, sadly. The falafels appear to be homemade, and I think they're baked rather than fried? Or maybe they just got soggy waiting in the window? I don't know. The texture was really bad. Pasty and chewy and makes you feel thirstier than you need to be. The hummus accompanying the falafel enhanced that pasty gluey feel in the mouth and there was no crunch. It's $14 for a sandwich. I was able to gag down half of it and drink 3 waters before I gave up to go back to work. I don't know, there are cheaper options around that are also locally owned that taste better, sadly. I guess this place is fine for drinks? I wouldn't know. Try it and see if it's delicious l guess. I think I'll drive myself over to The Arrows or Delicias instead.
