And surprisingly they did not charge an automatic gratuity for us having a large group. There are many pizza options in Allendale but Peppino's Pizza (the express location, not the actual bar/restaurant) is by far the best out of them all! There has never been a time where we were disappointed with our pizza - they are always consistent with the quality unlike most of the other pizza places in town. The employees are also always very friendly even during their peak times. The cheesy bread stix with sauce is a must with your pizza! These are some of the cheesiest and most delicious breadsticks I have ever had! The sauce is also the best - we always order an extra. The inside was recently remodeled and it looks so much better than it used to! There is some seating inside but most people end up ordering take-out. During peak times (Friday and Saturday nights), the wait times can be pretty long, especially during the GVSU school year. Be sure to order early or have the understanding that you might be waiting for an hour or more for your order (trust me though, it's worth the wait!). read more

Peppino's Express is always good. Their pizza has a bold, sweet sauce, lean sausage and fresh ingredients. No canned mushrooms. Generous cheese and toppings. Delivery is always fast and the staff is polite. We have been eating their pizza for years and it is much better than the national chains. Highly recommend. read more

Absolute Disaster! Went in with a coupon that I had received in the mail. $3 off $20. I gave it to the check out clerk. He said it was expired last year. I had stated that i just recieved it a few months ago and it was May there was no way it was expired. He stated again it was and got the "boss". the boss told me "do I know plain English?" it says limited time only". I was so insulted! maybe the coupon is only good for the first day? I told him i loved their pizza and it seemed strange that he would risk a customer for $3. He said "I dont want customers like you. I dont need you. People love me." Still the best pizza in Allendale by far. But I am updating my review because I accidentally called the wrong location and only when I showed up at the Pizza Express in Allendale did I realize it. The employee working helped me figure out which location I had called (Standale). I thanked him and was ready to head to Standale. He said "no don't worry about it, the roads are really bad I'll make you the pizza you ordered here, and I'll straighten it out with the other location". He had the pizza in the oven in a couple minutes and I barely had to wait. That was above and beyond excellent service. I really appreciated how quickly he was willing to make my mistake no big deal. Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was surprised to see how empty it was! Sports bar ambiance with multiple TVs with various sport channels. My party ordered a medium spicy pizza on thin crust, which our server immediately took care of. When the pizza came out, our server explained that the kitchen had made an error and prepared a small pizza instead. He said that they would give us another small pizza to make up for it, which was much appreciated! The pizza crust was thin and flavorful, and the toppings were plentiful. She came back and said the manager said they didn't have spinach. Thought something was up so I had my daughter call back 20 minutes later and order a spinach and mozzarella pizza. I run a for older children and the kids got coupons for a free 10" pizza from Peppino's of Allendale from the Allendale Library. The kids were very excited about this and when I called to order their pizzas, I was told that the coupons couldn't be honored as is, that people had been making copies of them so instead of free, it was buy one get one free. I had seven hungry children, excited about pizza, and did not have the money in the daycare budget to purchase 4 pizzas at $8 each when we were expecting a day of free lunch. I explained this to the worker and she went and talked to her manager and said there was nothing they could do. We got Little Caesars instead. I'm sorry that people were being dishonest, but that shouldn't have fallen on the heads of the children. Perhaps next year the company doesn't do the coupons or changes them to buy one get one. Perhaps they change the coupons so it's clear when they are original. It's bad business to dishonor what they've given out. We will not be using Peppino's in the future and we were sure to share our experience with all of the daycare parents. read more

Just ordered from here... they told me I was the only delivery and it still took them 50 minutes. When I got my food, my tortellini had little to no butter, my fries were cold and soggy, and my grilled cheese was cold, soggy (from the tomato that I did not order. I placed a take out order for a margarita pizza and 18 traditional wings, half buffalo and half BBQ. We were told that it would be a 20 minute wait, no big deal. 10 minutes later our food was ready and brought out to us, which I was pleasantly surprised. I get home and open the pizza box, and to my surprise, it isn't a margarita pizza at all, but an extremely burnt cheese pizza. Our wings on the other hand were also screwed up. We did get half of the wings with BBQ, but the other half were not buffalo, just regular wings with no sauce or flavoring. I called the restaurant, frustrated about our completely wrong orders and was put on hold by an employee right away without having the chance to speak for 10 full minutes. I hung up after that, figuring they forgot about putting us on hold. I called back and got a different employee and then asked to speak to the manager. I was promptly transferred. I explained the situation to the manager and he was very polite and understanding, and offered to send a gift card to reimburse us for our food. Overall, I was very disappointed with the take out staff and the quality of the food, but the manager seemed to handle the situation well. read more
