My family has been going to Mr Scrib's Pizza since my mom was a little girl, so for at least 45 years. Their crust is thin and crispy, and they cut their pizza into squares, so you don't have to worry about the piece flopping over and all the toppings sliding off. Their flavors are delicious - definitely our favorite pizza around. This location is always clean and the service is efficient while not being overly friendly. Expect someone polite but no-nonsense to take your order, then leave you to enjoy your pizza in peace! read more

Service tonight was slow. I ordered online and went in at my pick up time and my pizza had not even been put in the oven yet. :(. The staff seems to be a lot of younger newbies and none of the other staff that has been there for years was in sight. They have a small seating area with booths and it was clean but most people pick up or have it delivered. My pizza was ordered as extra crispy but was very soggy tonight and all of the toppings litterly slide of the greasy mess of a pizza. Maybe just a bad night. Hope this won't be the trend. read more

Mr Scrib's Pizza - 12" supreme extra cooked with extra sauce - Pizza Near Me - Grand Haven, Michigan

Scrib's. There's nothing more to be said. The BEST pizza, it's always good. Thin crust, super greasy but if you're ordering Scrib's, you know to bring a roll of paper towel to roll across the top before you eat it. Just do it, it's well worth it. read more

Zero stars. Terrible place. When you walk in they like to stare at you for ten minutes and not even come to your table. They don't ask you anything. Highly don't recommend. If you like bad service please come here. read more

The customer service on the phone was not the greatest for one they hung up on me after giving me an attitude all because I asked for extra ranch because where we were ordering it to we did not have any and after asking that they sighed and said sure and hung up without telling me my total and charged me for it and I didn't even get it. The food was not the best it came inside a paper bag inside the box for starters and the cheese stuck to it so I got a mangled pizza out of it. By far the worst pizza place I have ever had and do not recommend one bit read more

Just Average. New to the lakeshore and wanted to try out one of the local spots for Pizza! Ordered thin crust pizzas: 14 inch Deluxe, 12 inch Cheese with 3 toppings. Made modifications to each pizza and they were followed correctly. Ordered both "crispy" and they arrived with a bit of char on the crust. Delicious. We also ordered Hot Wings. Breaded and fried, they were very good, but did not have any hot sauce on them. They had a bit of heat in the breading, but it was in random bites, not what I would call hot wings. They were served with a packet of blue cheese. It was under the wings, and by the time it arrived at my house, it was hot. I find it weird they wrap the pizza in a bag on a cardboard circle, then a pizza box. Delivery was quick, I was expecting an hour for delivery and it arrived in 30 minutes! Glad we were just finishing up the yard work when it arrived. read more

Came highly recommended by a local friend. Placed a pickup order for 3 pizzas on their website - total ~$52. Note: They upcharge for every single topping. On arrival, we discovered one pizza was left off of the order. We waited at the drive-up window for it to be prepared. New total ~$77. NO concession offered, NO apology, NOTHING. Told us if we'd called in the order, they'd be able to do something. So our mistake ordering online, I guess. Bigger mistake: Ordering here at all. Pizzas just average, two of three cold because we had to wait for the third. Bottom line: you'll get better service and value at Little Caesar's. read more

Always delicious...love hot poppers...keep trying to get through, they're busy most of the time.

I'm new to the area, and a friend recommended that I order pizza from Mr. Scrib's when I had some people over not too long ago. His review: "This is where people who moved away want to eat when they're back." Sold! I've ordered from here a few times, always doing carryout through their drive thru window. I'm a big fan of the thin crust pizza and their toppings are great and I've always had an outstanding pizza from them, but I think their prices are a bit steep even for a premium not-a-chain pizza place. I don't mind paying for a good pizza, but I think the prices here are about $5 more than they should be. Bottom line: I've always had great service. My pizza has always been done properly, on time, tasted delicious, I've had great service and I'm a fan.. I just think it's expensive. read more

Super disappointed! Just ordered 16" pizza and cheese bread, with sausage, pepperoni, bacon, onion on one half and the same on the other half minus the onion and with pineapple! our pizza was delivered with JUST CHEESE! ‍ Was told they will send another pizza but we would have to pay for it! read more

Can't believe this has a 3.2 rating. Scribs is legendary, great pizza. Looking forward to buying again.

The large deluxe pizza that we ordered and picked up was such a tremendous disappointment. It had barely any toppings on it. We ordered a small deluxe as well and it was perfect. When we called to explain we were not treated with respect but rudely. Not something you'd expect from a business that would hope to thrive and survive! read more

Super disappointed. We orders Scribs tonight because my car is in the shop having brake work done. We were happy to wait an hour for the order. It arrived cold. It's gross and we won't eat it. I called Scribs and at first the person I spoke to expressed surprise/disbelief that the pizza would be cold. It is. It was. She offered me a $20 credit on my next order. I said, you can have the food back, I would like a refund. She said she can't do that but offered to replace the food. I'm not interested in eating dinner at 9pm. $20 isn't even half the cost of the order for food we won't eat. Ugh. I still want my money back. read more

Thin crust supreme took care of our pizza craving. Staff was friendly. Great place for a pizza and a pop.

Great pizza but horribly unclean. Not a clean table in the place and trash on the floor. Slow to address unavailable tables. 2nd time here with similar observations. Maybe take out only is the answer. read more

Mr Scrib's Pizza - Attention needed... - Pizza Near Me - Grand Haven, Michigan

Great pizza. Delivery is consistent and so is the pizza. Always good. Great service as well!

I ordered a large pizza with half light pepperoni and have mushroom, green pepper and pepperoni. The pizza we got (after we drove 15 minutes to pick it up and brought it back home) literally had 3 slices with just pepperoni and the rest with all of the toppings. I called and I had to drive back to get another one AND return the pizza. When I got there they said it was our fault and that the pizza slid. I asked how there were so many toppings all of the pizza and where did the cheese pepperoni go it if just "slid." The woman there was unapologetic and said she made it correctly and it was our fault. I just asked her to look at it and admit it was a mistake and she refused. I guess the price of one pizza is worth losing a customer of almost 20 years. read more

Mr Scrib's Pizza - a pepperoni and mushroom pizza - Pizza Near Me - Grand Haven, Michigan

In town visiting family and decided to try this place after reading some reviews. Absolutely disappointed. The man who took my order was not very kind to start. Picked up the pizzas and paid $38 for 2 thin crust pizzas. 1 just cheese and the other with pepperoni. Pricey I thought but if it's good pizza, you get what you pay for. Mind you, we are visiting from Chicago so we knew that it wouldn't top pizza from back home but still have to give it a try. Oh em gee. We opened the pizzas and they are SOGGY! Absolutely soft and doesn't even taste ALL the way cooked. The outside of the pizza barely barely barely had a crunch to it and the middle pieces were just disgustingly soggy. Part of the pizza was stuck to the cardboard. Not worth the money I paid. If you try it, ask for the pizza well done and see if that will make a difference. We won't ever go here again. I'd rather go to Dominos. read more

Mr Scrib's Pizza - a half eaten pizza - Pizza Near Me - Grand Haven, Michigan

Food was good, service wasn't the best, lady at the counter had an attitude and I'm not sure why exactly. Restaurant was clean and the food was good though. They serve mainly thin pizzas but we got a thick one. read more

I've gone to Mr Scribbs a few times over the years, never cared for the sandwiches, but the pizza I thought was one of the better ones in town. I actually would have gone more often, but the prices are extremely high comparatively speaking. Today, I thought I'd splurge. Large pizza (16") sausage and fresh mushroom. About $22 with tax! Wow, a bit more than I expected for a pizza! But here's the kicker....it wasn't that good! Perhaps they changed the recipe? The top of the pizza was watery....not greasy, maybe it was the mushrooms? The cheese on the ends was burnt, maybe that affected the taste? In any event, I will try another pizza place next time.....perhaps Palermo's down the street or Mama Mia's in Spring Lake. I mean for $22, I can go anywhere! read more

Mr. Scribs is legendary in my husband's mind, this was my first time trying it. I love the thin crust and light sauce on their pizza. We ordered a thin crust with bacon, pineapple, and red onion. We also got the cheese sticks, they were a little cool so not really gooey inside. But overall, we loved it! We'll definitely get it again when we are on the side of the state. read more

Mr Scrib's Pizza - pepperoni, mushrooms, and cheese - Pizza Near Me - Grand Haven, Michigan

I ordered pizza for takeout during Covid. The appearance of the pizza was exactly what I like to see- thin crust, obviously baked super hot, a little char around the edge. But they put it in a paper bag, which turned the crust into a soggy mess. Just put it in the box, please. read more

I am convinced that the people of West Michigan have permanently lost their tastebuds. Some of the reviews rated this pizza the best in Michigan. Clearly, they are operating with a different definition of pizza. The pizza almost completely lacked sauce. What was there was a coat of tinted water that might taste like tomato given enough to drink. What it lacked in sauce, it more than made up for in grease on top. Nearly 20 napkins were used to sop up the grease. At least the green peppers were fresh. My son ordered the shrimp fries. Normally, a young child will gravitate to anything deep fried that you can dip in sauce. But when the child says it was all bread and no shrimp, you've missed the mark. When in Grand Haven again, we will not be returning here. But this place will go on. 50 years of bad pizza have stunted the taste buds of this town. (For another example, see Fricano's.). We will take the hunger pangs from a day of hiking rather than pass this stuff across our lips once more. read more

Pizza is so good and addictive. Must order it well done for complete perfection. Crust is the thin kind where you feel you could eat an entire pie, but you really shouldn't! They have a drive through where you can pick up your pizza. Crowds and long wait time, and phone line that is busy proves it to be a local fave. Not open on Mondays, as I have experienced more than once. read more

Never again. If I could give this place O stars, I would. When we came in, there was NOBODY in the restaurant, no customers, no employees. I walked to the counter, puzzled, jingled my keys, to find a young lady with an attitude. She immediatley told me she would be "right with me" and fussed with the pizza ovens, Finally, a delivery driver took my order, ( $35.00 ) worth of food, and told me it would be 20 minutes. I waited..and waited and waited for 25 minutes. Watched the delivery drivers come into the back door, walk in, prepare food, no hand washing, picking and eating out of tht toppings. I should have just asked for a refund then, FINALLY...I got my food, took it home It was not edible. The tartar sauce was spoiled, the fish was "off" at best. The roll was pre-packaged a la school cafeteria, the pickle was squashed, and the fries were undercooked and limp. Like I said, NEVER again. Next time, I'll drive right past and go to Ray's. read more

I took Mary B's comment in her review about "long wait time" to mean you had a long wait to sit down. When we pulled up, plenty of open parking spots, so we figured we were good to go. Ahh, but long wait time means how long it takes to get your food. 40 minutes for a pizza (which they tell you up front). People next to us were playing cards - they knew. Okay, let's clarify this place. You order at the counter. If you're smart, you've called in your order ahead of time so you don't have to sit in the heat for 40 minutes. They yell your name when your pizza is done. They have ~10 tables. On to the pizza. You can get thin crust or deep pan. Mistakenly, we opted for the deep pan. When I think deep pan, I think halfway between a thin crust pizza and a Chicago stuffed pizza i.e. a deep pan pizza should probably be about an inch to 1&1/2" inches thick. Their deep pan is what most other places would probably call regular. I would say it was at most 1/2" thick. Crust had an odd taste - couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe like pastry dough? Cheese was fantastic - salty, flavorful, etc. Sauce was basically non-existent. Toppings - we went with the veggie i.e. green pepper, onion, mushroom, garlic. They tasted good although I don't remember the garlic. People behind us offered us some bread sticks (we must have looked really hungry), but prefaced the offer with "they're not very good." Not sure if they have air conditioning - I was sweating - could just be the heat from the pizza ovens. Counter lady - not friendly. read more
