Even though the website doesn't say so, the large 1-topping pizza is $12 only on phone in orders. When I followed up on the phone, they said the would give me "Flo's bucks" instead of a credit. They charged me $18 for the pizza and gave me $5 in Flo's bucks. That doesn't even make up the difference and I have to purchase more from them. Not a good way to handle this. First time there on Sunday to watch football with my friends. We were there for hours. Nobody drank liquor and no one was drunk, but we were loud and we laughed a lot. They cut us off. What a joke. We're all 50 year olds, catching up. The staff was quiet and seemed annoyed. Never friendly one time. I'll never go there again. Once again, for my personal taste, one of the best in town. I have been to the Kalamazoo and 44th location and the Post drive location and love them all. I was raised on Vitale's pizza and this is the closest I've gotten to them. I ordered a deluxe pizza and an order of bread sticks. Bread stick were puffy and baked just right. Pizza crust was a little crispy on the bottom(not burned)and soft on top around the edge. Nice amount of toppings and hot. I usually do carry out to insure a hot pie. Ive been going here for years as it's literally across the street from where I live. It does the trick whenever I'm sad and lonely and looking to commit pizza carbicide. Fast and inexpensive and that's also how I can best describe their product. It's "meh," and not up to their deceiving "voted best pizza in Michigan" claim they slap onto all their schwag. It certainly beats Pizza Hut, but at a similar level to Little Caesar's or Domino's. Service is fine, their stores and small an clean. But the cheese on their pizza is indescribably odd in look, texture and flavor. I still can't put my finger on it. Im just a little suspicious it's not 100% mozzarella, but some cheaper blend with synthetics or soy maybe. Well, it's pizza. Is it good pizza? No, not really. I dunno, I'm from Chi-caaaa-go, so maybe Imma bit of a pizza snob. Don't hate. We ordered a pizza, cheesy bread sticks and boneless buffalo wings. Everything was done quickly and ready within 20 minutes for us to pick up. But as far as the food goes, I can't say much. The wings had a heavy breading which was all you could taste. For some reason they didn't put the sauce on the wings, and it was served separate in a small container. But it was refrigerator cold. Weird. Why? The cheesy bread was REALLY good. It was super cheesy, hot and crisp. I would order that again. But once more it came with marinara that was cold. WTF? Finally, the pizza. It was really. Um. What can I say about it? It was definitely cooked. Yeah. Cooked. The mushrooms were canned, I think. Very not fresh tasting. The other veggies tasted fresh, but whatever. You couldn't really taste them because the crust was a little overdone and the thin, watery sauce tasted straight out of a jar. I don't think it was even seasoned. I was super unimpressed. read more

We ordered up 3 pizzas for our Mother's Day dinner. The food was ordered off Yelp through grub hub. The food was ready in a reasonable time and the staff was friendly when I picked up our order. They even offered help with future orders. When we checked the pizzas they were fresh and tasty. We tried the Hawaiian, the chicken parmigiana and a custom pizza. As a long-time customer of Florentines, we're definitely fans. We've tried a wide array of the menu items: their pizza is solid and consistently good. The sauce and crust are both quite good and I love that it's not greasy. Sometimes we opt for the one-topping special for the kids (a really good value if you pick them up), other times we live large with several toppings or a specialty pizza. The stromboli's are to die for - our sons especially love these and they are a really great value to feed growing boys. The meatball sub rocks, the veggie sub not so much (it's pizza topping veggies, which I can understand, but it's underwhelming). The bread is tasty and toasted just right on all the subs we've experienced. Service-wise they are solid. Delivery has been consistently reliable and always delivered our orders correctly and in the timeframe we've expected. The order taker on the phone varies, but unless they are really busy (like on a Friday night), they take the time to repeat back the order and make sure it's right. I typically ask for a total before I hang up and it's always matched what they told me at the door or the store. I was raised in Chicago and love pizza. Is it Chicago caliber, no, but that bar is pretty high and nothing in Grand Rapids attains it. We've tried a dozen pizza places or more and Florentines is the place we call over and over again, even with options closer to our home. read more

Horrible experience. Was there to enjoy Father's Day but our it turned out to be a disaster. We waited a long time to have our order taken. When the salads finally came out the whole table need refills. I asked our server if we could get refills and she said "yep" and then walked away! About an hour and half later someone from our table asked our server "where's our food". She looked at us like we were crazy! I think she either forgot to bring it or forgot to put in the order. When our food came out it was COLD and incomplete. We asked to see the manager but the server said he as tied up in the kitchen and handed us a $50 gift card. I had a Groupon for $40 of takeout food. This is the 2nd time I've had pizza there. The first time, the pies were a bit short on toppings and the bake time needed to go another 4 or 5 min as the dough was not completely cooked in the middle. I decided to give them one more try as I've heard good things. I am glad I did! The servers were super up to speed and professional. I ordered two large hand tossed pies with garlic butter seasoning on the crust. The Lorenzo Supreme was very good, and the Campagnola was excellent! The carmelized onions and roasted tomatoes were delish as well as their Italian sausage. If you had a mediocre experience before, give them another chance. This Was one of the best pizza places in town when the parents ran the business. We ordered from their Plainfield location every week. Unfortunately when the boys took over the prices went way up and the food is well below average if not terrible. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and have tried both the Plainfield and Post road locations a number of times but will never be back. They have a sign about being voted the best pizza in town but I think that is just a marketing gimmick as I know of no one that likes their food.....suggest finding another place to eat. read more

Had the "Maui Wowi" pizza tonight and it was the best pizza I've ever had! The sweetness of the pizza (pineapple and shredded coconut) were balanced with a little spice and the chicken was spectacular on it. Not sure how all the ingredients are prepared separately but together it makes the best pizza I have ever eaten! When I worked as a Paramedic my partner's wife managed a Dominos pizza and he sold Death sauce Hot sauces on the side. We used to experiment at the station with different ingredients trying to make the perfect sweet and Heat Hawaiian Chicken pizza. We had a great recipe using buffalo chicken and mango/habanero hot sauce with pineapple and smoked tomatoes. Before tonight that was my favorite pizza of all time. Flo's Hawaiian pizza just dwarfed that one!! I will be going back to get another one next time Pizza is what's for dinner! read more

I don't know what is going but the service and quality are fair at best. We have been going there for years sometimes more than once a week. The past several months have been on a steady decline, particularly with service. It is not uncommon to walk in and staffers are visible but takes a while for someone to to come to the table. We have been told we will be seated in 15 minutes and there are many tables open. When asked the hostess told us the kitchen is backed up! Last week we went in with friends and they got a $9 sub with tons of lettuce but one slice of turkey (really). The very next night we did take out, ordered a sub and the same thing. It is obvious that the lack of training and monitoring of service and food quality is a significant issue (Brown lettuce, Etc). It makes me sad as it is a great setting, but clearly need some better competition. We don't get any of this at Uecellos in Rockford or Allendale! read more

We have always liked the take out pizza at Flo's. However, there have been a few problems in the last year. The punch card (now phasing it out), once you get 10 punches, is only good to use on certain items and not the one topping large, promotion items,etc. So it is not really $10 in Floe bucks for any item after you get $10 punches. But then again, the Flo bucks are going away anyway, but why? Secondly, I asked for a one topping large for $10 and then asked if I could pay for an extra topping and the answer was "No." They said I could order a create your own, 2 topping large for wait for it...$19! Yes, we would have to pay $9 extra for an extra topping. No kidding. Finally, our last order was undercooked, in my opinion. Have always liked Flo's, but I think they need to step up their game. read more
