If you're mailing from out of state to use their services be sure to call them for instructions. The staff we talked to was really friendly and helpful. We mailed in some documents from a different state using USPS GROUND and got to their building in 4 days then we called in to confirm if they got the delivery. Once it was confirmed, we paid over the phone so that the receipient will not have to pay on their end. We did the option for pick up at SM MEGAMALL. It took 5 days for them to receieve it. Total of 9 days. Their services were super affordable compared to other air freight companies so we highly recommend them. I asked the lady who helped me if she knows the people who manages the Yelp and Google search hours for their store, she said she doesn't. I told her someone needs to update the hours on Sundays on there because it is showing that they are open on Sundays, but they are not. I also told her that I will put a review online and share that they are not open on Sundays so I can help the business and the customers. For all of us: The office is NOT OPEN ON SUNDAYS. I've been using Johnny Air for nearly 10 years. Most of that time I was based in Manila, and this what I used to ship my packages. I'd send my personal mail, Amazon/Ebay orders, etc safely and inexpensively. I've only shipped to Metro Manila, picking up those packages at one of their branches. For me, that was either Makaki, or at the SM Megamall at the ground level. What I will say about Johnny Air is they are fairly consistent and reliable. For example, I'd have my package sent to their San Francisco (Daly City) branch. Once they get it, I send an email detailing the contents and my contact details, tracking details, and specify which JAC branch I want to pick up at once it gets to Manila. Once the package is received at their USA office, it's generally dispatched in 2 to 3 days, via air. Arrival in Manila is an additional 3 to 5 days. Once in MNL allow 1-2 days for customs release, then the cargo moves to their Makati office where it's sorted and processed. All together allow 5-10 days (around 7 or 8 actually for arrival in Manila, and they will always send a txt message to your recipient letting them know it's ready for pick up. TIP: Call the LOCAL Johnny Air office (e.g. Daly City) when your package is delivered and pre-pay for your package over the phone rather than waiting for it to arrive in PH. The reason for this is you won't have to pay the Philippine VAT of 12%! You are also paying in US DOLLARS with your card without any exchange rate. I learned this was MUCH cheaper than paying at the receiving end in the Philippines! When I was living in Manila I would have to pay my package in PESO, and the 12% tax would be added (per the BIR) and to add to the expense, the Johnny Air branch in Manila would convert the USD to PHP using not the best rate. ;) So, be sure you prepay your shipments otherwise you pay a lot more in PH! Also be careful about shipping anything potentially prohibited. This includes anything having to do with coins, collectibles, currency, stamps, jewelry, precious metals, or similar items. Also follow guidelines johnny air advises. This is nothing to do with them, but PH customs has become increasingly strict about some types of value items, and those shipments are likely to be inspected. If any prohibited items are found. Johnny air will contact you and send them back. This is for your protection to avoid possible confiscation, or an unpleasant duty tax! ;) Rest assured your items are in safe hands with JAC. read more

I asked for the nearest ATM and there was one in the laundromat nearby, but the male associate quickly said I can do cashback at the grocery - which I prefer as there are no fees versus the sketchy ATM in the laundromat. Note- please do not support this business! I made the mistake going through Johnny Air for travel booking to the Philippines. First, the agent aggressively talked us out of getting a direct flight on Philippine Airlines to taking a stop over flight through Korean airlines. He stated that on our flight back, because time and length of our layover, the airline would provide a hotel in Korea. This was totally not the case. The airline knew nothing of the sort. I was furious! I would not allow my 5 month pregnant sister sleep on the chairs of an airport for 12 hours. I thought, what if I did not money to spend on a hotel my way back from vacation? I could have been stuck! I had to call long distance to Johnny Air from Korea. I was told by representatives of Johnny air to get a hotel and I would be reimbursed. When I came back to Johnny Air to receive the reimbursement for the hotel, they gave me the run around, disputing my reimbursement. They questioned my hotel choice and cost! But there were no specifics when they offered reimbursement. Plus they wouldn't have to reimburse me if they paid for the hotel or if we weren't talked out of a direct flight from Philippine airlines to Korean air layover flight. I would come to the store every week asking for the reimbursement while complaining that Johnny air shouldn't advertise that free hotel or any other offers that they know nothing about or will not back up themselves. So, my case was handed over to a lady off site. After weeks of trying to get the reimbursement THEY offered, I chalked it up as a loss. Last 9/13/12 I went to JOHNNY AIR CARGO to send money to PI. Vic said that they need to update their record and asked for my ID. I handed him my CADL and he made a copy. Then he proceeded to type up the information and gave me the receipt after the transaction was done. The next day morning that's when I noticed that my license was missing. I called them back at around 10am. I was on hold for few minutes, and then someone came back saying that they are STILL LOOKING for it...and finally found it. If that is the case, you would think that they could have called me yesterday to let me know that it is in their possession and put my license in a safe place...??!! It is a bother to me since I still have to get off work to pick it up. The issue is...they did NOT CALL me to let me know that my license was with them, and not even an apology from any of them. It could also be a problem because I was going out of state in a couple of days. I suggest for you guys to get some training to to more professional and improve your customer service. Honest shipping rates and estimates. Have all your information ready when you go. They are very good at forwarding pkgs from various US stores like Amazon. Just beware of the packaging used by the US stores, some have oversized boxes that will end up costing a lot to ship from the US unless you pay JAC to repackage your merchandise. That should save you money. For the gentleman with the major issue on the travel tickets you have my sympathy. Pay a little more for a reputable travel agent, and sometimes you will pay even less! My own personal recommendation based on 5 RTs to the Ph is take Ph. Airlines for the fastest direct trip. Want a break and somewhat cheaper fair, take EVA Air. The stop in the beautiful Teipai airport is worth it, plus the airline food and service is first rate (as is PA usually). Cathay is another to consider. If you only care about price, Air China is ok unless you have a sensitive stomach. LOL read more
