EL and his guys always do a great job, so I wasn't thrilled to have to get out of my comfort zone and find a new place. But with the summer heat in North Carolina, about the last thing you want not working in your vehicle is the air conditioning. I read the glowing reviews of Choice Auto Care on Yelp, and elsewhere, and decided to give them a shot. I am glad I did. Don was quick to get me in, and then out, and the job was done right - and VERY timely. He reminded me of my long-time mechanic from when I lived in South Florida. In fact, the two could almost be twins. It's a little further in distance than I usually go - in fact, I can walk to my 'regular' guy - but I highly suggest Don and the staff at CAC. It is never enjoyable having to get certain repairs done, but if you are going to spend hundreds of dollars for a fix, it's nice to know places exist that will do the job right, and not screw you over trying to upsell and still give great customer service. If you're in the North Raleigh area, definitely give them a call!

My car broke down and was towed to Cary Car Care after being recommended by GEICO. I was initially…read moretold the diagnostic fee would be $130, but ended up being charged $176. Later that evening, they called with a repair estimate of $2,156 to replace the radiator fan, thermostat, and tires, plus $309 just to refill the antifreeze. When I called to ask about alternatives, they only reduced the price by $20. That felt excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion. I ended up going to NC Complete Auto Care, where the radiator fan was replaced for $881. They didn't charge for refilling the antifreeze and said the thermostat wasn't an issue and did not need to be replaced. They also let me know I could safely wait on the tires for a couple more months. I appreciated the transparency and will be taking my business there from now on. I can't recommend Cary Car Care based on my experience.

No call or text Wednesday 10/23/24 so I called at the end of the day and was told they hadn't started working on the car yet but I was in the queue for the work to be done in the morning. I called today Thursday 10/24/24 and they still hadn't touched the car! And that's when the mechanic told me the appt. was for the 30th. I realize it was my mistake on the scheduling but why didn't the check in lady tell me I had the day wrong? And why didn't someone notice yesterday when the car was sitting there all day? And why did they say the car was in queue to be worked on in the morning? I'm on my way out of town for a family emergency and this messed me up so badly. I've been calling all over to see if I could get a rush job on the work. Really terrible service and I will never go back here or recommend them. Update: I appreciate the businesses response but there was another aspect of this situation that bothered me. When I realize the date mistake I asked the guy who answered the phone if they could squeeze me in. He said: if someone who has an appointment doesn't show up or cancels we can get you in. But I can't make any guarantees. I kind of expected that he'd try to see if he could accommodate me but he just said sorry...can't do anything. And I would feel differently if he had at least shown some empathy.

They don't take appointments for inspections so it is first-come, first serve. Since it was fairly busy, I was told it would take about 45 minutes. They have seating inside, however, I decided to wait at a nearby coffee shop. They took down my number and said they would call when ready for pick-up. After about 20 minutes I received a call informing me that the vehicle would fail inspection since one of the windshield wipers was torn. They offered to replace one, both, or neither (for me to replace myself or at a different location). When asked, he informed me of the price options. The prices were reasonable so I asked to swap them both out for $50. He called back about 5 minutes later to report the vehicle passed inspection with the new wiper blades. I returned, paid inside, and picked up my vehicle. Total came to a little under $90 for the wiper blades and inspection. Overall, excellent quick and quality service with great communication. They took down my number and said they would call when the car was ready in about 40 minutes. Two hours later I had to call them because I still had not received a call and they closed in 30 minutes. When I arrived they said they weren't able to add coolant because they didn't have the correct kind in shop but the oil was changed. FOUR days later (13mi) since they supposedly changed the oil, a family friend (who is a mechanic) looked at the oil and said it was BLACK and that there was no way the oil had been recently changed. I spoke with the manager (Chris) and he immediately said "I don't know what you expect me to do?" And that he was 100% certain the oil was changed, even though he admitted the shop had issues in the past with people not providing services!!! I also asked if he could review the cameras just to make sure and he said the cameras don't work (convenient!)
