I was running 4 mins behind due to traffic and they went ahead and brought in the appointment behind me since they were already there and waiting. Not ideal for me of course but great if the shoe had been on the other foot. It's a pretty cozy space so I waited for the appointment to wrap up by admiring the small town views and a few new pair of glasses. Dr. Nguyen was a pleasure. She was knowledgeable and made sure that I had just as much of an understanding of what was going on with my eyes. I didn't feel rushed at all going through my exam and she gave me thoughtful suggestions on my next steps to ensure that my eye health was being prioritized. I also appreciated that Dr. Nguyen sanitized the equipment before having me use each machine. At the front desk for check out, the woman who helped me there was also really patient as I scrambled to find my HSA card to pay. It started pouring down raining and she was even kind enough to walk me through the back door to my car so I wouldn't get as wet. I will be ordering my new contacts from here soon and was told the turnaround time is really quick. I look forward to receiving them and I am excited to have a new eye doctor.

Obiaderi Osakwe aka Obi, is the office manager and the first contact upon arriving for your appointment. She is one smart cookie. She plans to attend medical school. She has worked for Dr. Kastner, O.D. for quite some time. While I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer, I still have plenty of life left in me -- thankful for each day. It finally happened to me -- my cataracs where at a point where they needed surgery. After the deed was done, I had what felt like a piece of sand in my eye. The surgery folks probably thought I was trying to get something for free from them. They disavowed having anything to do with it and washed their hands of the whole affair. At my next exam appointment, Dr. Kastner took about 30 seconds to tell me I had a small sty (I hope I'm calling it the right thing, it was very small outgrowth that shouldn't be there). I'm not blaming anyone from the other company, though I'd never recommend them to anyone I liked. The bottom line is -- I received excellent care from Dr. Kastner and attention to detail from Ms. Osakwe. They make an excellent pair. I can't recommend this duo enough. However, my issue lies with the experience of getting my glasses prescription filled. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted a basic, affordable second pair of glasses. I mentioned this multiple times--at least three times--but I felt pushed toward more expensive options that I didn't want. When I finally chose a frame covered by my insurance, I was told that my lenses required special processing because of my prescription. The price I was quoted for the lenses was over $500. When I said I couldn't afford that and didn't intend to spend more than $300, the price suddenly dropped to $308 within seconds. Why wasn't this lower option presented to me in the first place? The sudden shift in pricing felt shady and left me questioning the transparency of the process. It felt like I was being pressured into spending more than necessary, and the whole experience came across as unprofessional. I hope this feedback encourages a more honest and straightforward approach in the future.
